Fran Mycek s having a birthday Oh, No! Don t look now but it s the BIG 6.0! We wish him a great year from our very core. And then we wish him Many, Many More! Fun Fact: The PSC&HS has had 39 Club presidents since Fran has worked with 18 of them! Annual Meeting Report If you weren t at the Annual Meeting Friday night (April 17, you missed the President s report, the Treasurer s outlook on the Club s finances, an up-date on the Junior Synchro team s year, and a brief history of the Club s renovations 15 years ago by Fran Mycek. (You might still be able to get a copy of the wonderful 2015 calendar that Diane Buscaglia put together for us with fantastic pictures of the building of the Club, Club history, and lots of great pictures.) Out-going Board members (Melanie Boerner, Elizabeth Kitchel, Susan Miller, Virginia Pina, & Marcia Wiker) were thanked for their service and the in-coming Class of 2018: Jessica Constantine, Andrea Isaacson, Shelby Sparrow, Anna Steel, and Mary Ruth Thompson were elected to three-year terms. Likewise, Sara Glaser and Joe Libonati were thanked for their service to Member Admissions and Deborah Hoppy and Nicole Moshang begin three-year terms on this important Committee. Other highlights of the meeting were gold medals presented to the adults. Adults earning gold medals this past season include Amy Backstrom (Adult Gold Moves), Laura Jaworski (Gold Moves), Trisha Hessinger (Standard Senior Free Dance, Jana Raisner (Solo Senior Free Dance) Sarah Grapek (Gold Dance and Senior Free Dance, Malcolm Jones (Gold Dance and Senior Free Dance and Marianna Thomas (Adult Gold Moves). More gold medals will be presented to the junior skaters at their Pin Luncheon on May 31 st. Most-Improved Adult Skaters who were presented with silver plates were Deborah Hoppy and Stephen Bott. Congratulations to all! Also presented at the meeting was the VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR award. Debbie Lee received the award this year for using her time and her awesome financial skills for the Club and for being one of the organizers of SHINE the great party and successful fundraising event of last year that paid for the new lighting in the Club. 5 Boots & Blades Basic Skills Competition The PSC&HS 2015 Boots & Blades Basic Skills Competition was held on Sunday, April 19 th and thanks to our many Club volunteers it was a huge success. Many thanks are due to Sue Miller, Chief Referee, Laura Mitchell as Chief Accountant, Terry Foley as Assistant Accountant, Regina Barr for organizing, Marcia Wiker and Laura Jaworski for handling skater registration, Ann O Keefe, Melanie Boerner and Farah Jiminez for running the music and our many Club members who helped out by monitoring, running, and keeping our judges fed and happy. Thank you also to the members who contributed snacks and goodies for our judges and to Mary, Diane, Fran and the staff for all their help. It was all very much appreciated and helped to make the day a big success.
