1 Bowie Ice Arena Valentine s Invitational Saturday & Sunday February 17-18, 2018 Bowie Ice Arena would like to invite you to join us for the 2018 Valentine s Invitational to be held Saturday and Sunday February 17 & 18, 2018 at Bowie Ice Arena, 3330 Northview Drive, Bowie, Maryland The competition will begin no earlier than 1:30 pm on Saturday and we are planning to end by 7:00 pm on Sunday (depending on registrations). The event is open to all current ISI members, whose tests have been registered with ISI by February 1, You must be a current member in good standing of ISI to participate in this event. Skaters may not enter an event at a lower or higher level than their last test passed. The competition will include the following categories. Applications must be received by January 29, Stroking Tots through Freestyle 3 Tot 1 through Freestyle 10 Open Freestyle - Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum Open Freestyle Short- Gold & Platinum Solo Compulsories (Pre-Alpha through FS 8) Artistic FS (1 through 10 & Low, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum) Rhythmic Skating (1 through 10 & Low, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum) Synchronized Skating Production Team Ensemble Team Footwork Interpretive (Alpha through FS 10 & Low, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum) Spotlight (Pre-Alpha through Freestyle 10 & & Low, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum) Spotlight Couples (FS 1 through FS 10 & Low, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum) Family Spotlight Couples 1 through 10 Dance 1 through 8 ISI 2 Person Jump & Spin Team (Low, Bronze, Silver & Gold) Entry Forms and Fees: The entry fee is $40.00 per skater for Tots through Delta events, $50.00 per skater Freestyle 1 through 10 and $10.00 for each additional event. Production and Synchronized Teams are $50.00 per team plus $10.00 per skater. Individual applications and payments will not be accepted for team events, including Jump & Spin. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the competition director and will be charged a double entry fee. Late entries my not be included in the program or on the competition t-shirts. 2 Awards: All participants will receive an award. Music and Registration: All skaters must register one hour prior to scheduled program event at the registration desk and turn in music. Only Compact Discs will be accepted. Music is to be labeled with the skater s name, team name, event and age. No more than one program on a cd! We will not play music from a smart phone or ipod during the event, CD s only. Please bring a backup in case the first copy does not work. Judges: Judges for the competition are Professional Members of the ISI. Two Judge s meetings will be held, one at 3:00 PM on Saturday and a second one on Sunday morning. A representative from each team is required to attend one meeting prior to anyone from that team participating as a judge. The event schedule will be sent no later than February 10, 2018 to all rinks that provide the proper judges inquiry forms. Judges inquiry forms must be completed and received along with the team s registration forms. Coaches will be allowed to choose judging times after the schedule is prepared. USFSA Conversions: Members of the USFSA who are individual members and registered with the ISI are eligible to compete in accordance with the ISI/USFSA Joint Statement of Policy. The first skater performs their choice of a required jump 2 times, followed by the second skater performing their choice of a required spin 2 times. Only the best attempt of each required element will be judged. Only the technical accuracy of the required element is judged the difficulty of the chosen element is not considered during judging for this event. 8 Bowie Ice Arena s Valentine s Invitational February 17 & 18, 2018 Judges Entry Form All coaches who have skaters participating in an I.S.I. competition are obligated to judge as volunteers. Judges forms must be received before the competition schedule will be posted. Credentials will be required for admittance to the warm up area rink side. ISI certified coaches that are on the judge s schedule will receive credentials at the judges meeting. Coaches that are not certified can receive credentials by providing a team coach to cover their judging hours or by paying $50.00 at the judges meeting. Coaches that are not certified or choose not to judge can pay the fee or volunteer to assist the day of the competition to cover their judging requirements. There will be no exceptions. A blank schedule will be ed to all coaches that complete this form so you can choose your own judges panels.
