2 General Competition Information/Regulations Competition Entries All entries must be made on the competition entry included within this pack with all details completed correctly in BLACK CAPITALS and accompanied by FULL payment. Closing dates as detailed on the entry form will be strictly adhered to. Entry fees are non-refundable. All cheques should be made payable to Saltire Team Gymnastics. Clubs are required to inform the competition organiser of any withdrawals. Gymnasts Gymnasts ages will be the age reached in the year of competition. Gymnasts must have a minimum of Scottish Gymnastics Recreational membership. Coaches It is the clubs responsibility to ensure that they provide coaches suitably qualified to the level and appropriate standard of the competing gymnasts. Coaches should be wear appropriate attire and must not be wearing any jewellery. Judges Clubs are requested to name a judge attending the event on their behalf. It is each clubs own responsibility to ensure that the judge has agreed to the date. There will be a fee of 20 to be paid for each club where a judge is not named or does not attend to officiate at the competition. This fee is to assist with costs of requiring additional officials were insufficient judges are nominated to ensure smooth running of the event. Venue The competition will be held at Meadowmill Sports Centre, By Tranent, East Lothian, EH33 1LZ. Directions available from: EH331LZ /index.html Spectator Tickets Tickets for the competition will be available to purchase on the door. Please note all spectators must be seated within the competition hall. As spectator space is limited, competing gymnasts will NOT be allowed into the spectator s area. A separate area will be provided for gymnasts. Photography License Scottish Gymnastics has a Use of Video, Film or Photography at Gymnastics Events Policy which we will be adopting on the day. Please note that this Policy now covers photographic/video facilities within a mobile phone. We ask that clubs familiarise parents / guardian s of this policy which is available on the SG website and are aware of the publishing guidelines of photographs / videos ( Two Piece Competition Entries All gymnasts should be affiliated to Scottish Gymnastics. Gymnasts who have been awarded a Merit Certificate in a previous Beginners Competition must enter at Intermediate level, irrespective of age group. Gymnasts can enter both floor and vault competition and the Teamgym competition. Apparatus Floor 2x12m carpeted floor strip Vault see individual age group vault specifications Gymnasts Attire Gymnasts must wear a leotard or unitard and may be with or without sleeves Teams must wear identical leotards The wearing of gymnastics slippers or socks is optional Gymnasts are permitted to wear shorts Any bandages or supports strappings the gymnasts use must be skin coloured. No jewellery, body piercings or adornments of any kind are permitted in warm-up or competition.
3 Costs Entry costs for Two Piece competition are as follows: - Beginner and Intermediate gymnasts per gymnast - Two piece team competition entry per team Awards and Merit Certificates There will be individual medal places at beginner level for the following age groups; 6/7yrs, 8/9yrs, 10/11yrs and 12+yrs. There will also be an intermediate level category with medals available for 8/9yrs, 10/11yrs and 12+yrs. There will be a team award element to the floor and vault competition for all age categories, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place available. Teams will consist of a maximum of 5 gymnasts and a minimum of 3 gymnasts in the same age group. The top three scores on each apparatus will count. Gymnasts will be awarded a merit certificate for achieving the following scores: Beginners - Gymnasts who achieve in 8/9years, 10/11 years age groups. Gymnasts who achieve in 12+ years age group. Intermediate Those who achieve a score of Teamgym Micro Competition Entries All gymnasts should be affiliated to Scottish Gymnastics. Gymnasts can enter both floor and vault competition and the Teamgym competition. Six copies of Micro competition tariff sheets should be sent to competition organiser along with entry forms. Apparatus Tumble 2x12m double layered carpeted floor strip Trampette/Vault Continental Trampette Vault height variance from cm Gymnasts Attire Gymnasts should wear identical leotards Male and female gymnasts in a mixed team can wear different leotards. Any bandages or supports strappings the gymnasts use must be skin coloured. No jewellery, body piercings or adornments of any kind are permitted in warm-up or competition. Costs Entry costs for Micro competition is as follows: - Teamgym micro competition per team (minimum of three and maximum of five gymnasts per team) Beginner and Intermediate tariff sheets should be handed in at registration clearly labled with gymnasts pool and number. Tariff sheets for micro competition and entry forms for both competitions are attached below. Please ensure entry forms are returned fully completed and with payment by Sunday 20 th October 2013 so the competition schedule can be created and circulated prior to the event. We will not be accepting entries after this date. 9 Teamgym Micro Team Rules Teams of 3 5 gymnasts per age group / category will perform in a Micro Teamgym style event which will encourage a fun and exciting new activity to their training and competition set. Teams will perform in two sections, tumble (on 2 x un-sprung 2mx12m floor mats one on top of each other with a landing mat at end) and Trampette (including vault). Throughout the micro team competition gymnasts are required to demonstrate good streaming. When streaming the audience and judges should always see two gymnasts moving i.e. gymnast.1 performing skill and gymnast.2 on run up / approach skill, gymnast.3 preparing to commence tumble. Trampette (including vault) NB: must have two coaches present on the landing area during competition (qualified to the appropriate level of skills being performed) Teams will perform three separate runs; minimum of one run must use the vaulting apparatus (with Trampette vault height = cm for primary and cm for junior). Three gymnasts perform each run. Gymnasts not permitted to perform the same skills in different runs. Run 1. All gymnasts must perform the same skill i.e. Squat on Jump off vault or tuck front somersault on Trampette Run. 2 All the same skills or show progressive intensity i.e. Gymnast 1. = Straddle jump, Gymnast 2. = Pike front somersault and Gymnast 3. = Pike front somersault. Run 3. All the same skills or show progressive intensity i.e. Gymnast 1. = tuck jump, Gymnast 2. = Straight Front and Gymnast 3. = Straight Front. For of the skills see Micro team matrix on sheet attached. Tumble Teams again will perform three separate runs; here each gymnast must perform three skills down the length of the tumble track. Last skill to finish on the landing area/mat. Three gymnasts perform each run. There must be at least one run where all skills are backward skills and one run with all forwards skill. (NB: Cartwheel counts as both forwards and backwards). Gymnasts may repeat a skill once in a round; however gymnasts are not permitted to perform same combination of skills in more than one run. Run. 1 All gymnasts must perform the same skills i.e. cartwheel, round off, backward roll. Run. 2 Same skills or show progressive intensity i.e. Gymnast. 1 = dive roll, cartwheel, cartwheel; Gymnast. 2 = Tuck front, cartwheel, round off; Gymnast. 3 = Handspring to one, Handspring to two, dive roll.
