1 Washington English Spring Ball 2018 Dance Instructions Ani s Waltz Double Circle Mixer ¾ D G.Roodman 2008 Tune by: Charlene Thompson FORMATION: Double circle with men inside, women outside. A1 1-4 Partners promenade forward counter clockwise. 3-4 Partners, turn individually and back up in same direction. 5-8 Repeat all that, but dancing clockwise. A2 1-2 Men dance (ccw) forward two places. 3-4 Women wheel men around 1/2 (all facing clockwise). 5-8 Women dance forward two places 7-8 Men wheel women around ½, and face this temporary partner. B1 1-4 Partners gypsy right. 5-8 Left diagonals gypsy left. B2 1-4 Gypsy Progression: partners gypsy right ½, look left and finish gypsy right with that new partner. 5-8 New partners set & turn single. (end facing ccw to start again.) Bath Carnival 3-Couple LW 6/8 A Thompson 1777 Apted Book A s lead out between women and cast away from each other (W1 ending between the 2s, M1 ending between the 3s) s lead out between the men and cast away to end in same place. A2 1-2 Lines of three (facing up/down) set to each other. 3-4 Partners two-hand turn till IMPROPER ( ¾ for 1s, ½ for 2s & 3s). 5-8 Lines (facing across) set, Partners turn half. [ALL PROPER]. B1 1-8 All circle (six) left, and back to the right. B2 1-4 Lines on side (with hands), lead out and back. 5-6 Partners set. 7-8 PROGRESSION: 1s (in middle) cast to bottom, 3s lead up to 2 nd place, 2s (at top) turn single. B s take two hands & slip four steps up s do the same, followed by 3s, sequentially. 7-8 All turn single. B2 1-8 Repeat B1 back to place, 3s start by slipping down. PART II: A 1-8 Partners side right; side left. B1 1-2 M1 & W3 change places (4 slips, lead right shoulder, back-to-back). 3-6 W1 & M3 do the same, followed by the 2s, sequentially. 7-8 All turn single. B2 1-8 Repeat B1 (in same order) back to place. PART III: A 1-8 Partners arm right; arm left. B1 1-8 Men hey-for-three, skipping (start right should) B2 1-8 Women the same (men turn single on 7 & 8).
