AUG. 15 TH STARSKATE DATYIME PROGRAMS STARSKATE PROGRAMS: In Skate Canada s STARSkate program, skater s progress through various levels of figure skating disciplines Skills, Dances, Freeskate and Interpretive. Skaters registering in our Summer School STARskate Daytime Programs must have a private coach (not included in Membership Fees). DAYTIME QUALIFICATIONS PreSTAR / Jr. / Int. B : Skaters must have passed CANSkate Stage 4. Helmet is required for all skaters until the Stage 5 badge has been acquired per Skate Canada Guidelines. Int. A / Sr. B: To register skaters must have successfully completed their STAR 3 Freeskate Assessment (Elements and Program) and one complete grouping of: STAR 5A & B dance STAR 5 Skills Complete STAR 4A & B Assessment (Elements & Program) Sr. A/B/Elite: To register skaters must have successfully completed their STAR 4A, B Freeskate Assessment (Elements and Program) and two complete groupings of: Complete Junior Silver Dance Tests Complete Jr. Bronze FreeSkate & 1 of Complete Junior Silver Dance Tests Complete Junior Silver Skills Test OR Complete Junior Silver Skills Test Star 5A,B Freeskate 1/2 senior bronze Freeskate (Elements or Program) Sr. A/Elite: To register skaters must have successfully completed ½ of their Jr. Silver Freeskate Test (Elements or Program) *Summer only * Open Sessions: Please see the specified levels in the schedule. NOTE: Open with no specifications is available for skaters Junior thru to Elite. On Ice Conditioning: This is an on-ice session which focuses on the development of speed, power, control and coordination. Coaching is provided by the WFSC. Edges / Footwork / Spins: Private Coaching is required. Students on this class are encouraged to work on 25 min of spins and 25 min of edges/footwork. Please speak with your coach about adding this to your programming. Note: Skaters are not to skate or guest skate on sessions without prior approval by the appropriate board member nor are they to skate on sessions to which they are under qualified or over qualified for. In such a case the incident will be put under review by the WFSC Board with possible loss of privileges being revoked or in repeat cases suspension. ***The WFSC Board reserves the right to cancel, adjust or add sessions depending on enrollment. Please see the registration form for discounts on multiple week registrations. These discounts apply to daytime programs only. CLUB POLICIES Refunds Are accepted prior to the first day fo skating, less a $35.00 administration fee. Medical reasons, with a doctor s certificate, and moves outside the region will be also be considered as per club policy. NO refunds or adjustments will be made due to holiday, illness, maintenance repairs or ice cancellations, however the WFSC does pride itself in trying to accommodate all types of families and out of control instance that occur. NSF Cheques will be charged $ Non-payment of fees will result in the membership being revoked and skater removed from the program. Test Days Summer Test is in the daytime on Wed. Aug. 16 th, In addition to Skate Canada test fees, there are ice and hospitality fees added to the skater s test sheet. ** Skaters wishing to test on Aug. 16 th, 2017 must be registered for a minimum of 7 daytime on ice session or registered in a WFSC evening program to avoid a guest skating fee and the possibility of not being able to test if there is not room for registered members. Non-Skating Days There will be non skating dates throughout the season which are taken into account when determining pricing of the programs. Aug. 7 th & Aug. 16 th, 2017 are a non-skating days. Skater s Code of Conduct All skaters participating in the Summer Skating School Program are required to follow the Skaters Code of Conduct throughout the season. REGISTRATION Registration for WFSC members will be by drop off starting on June 5 th, All forms must be completed in full and payment or credit card info must accompany the forms or the registration will not be processed. Registration for non-wfsc members will be accepted by forms scanned & ed or can be dropped off into the WFSC Board Room door at the McKinney Centre after June 10 th, Please forms to president@whitbyfsc.com. **** Skaters will only be contacted if there is an issue with your forms or you cannot be accepted into the program ****
