2 Dear Angus Friends, It s bittersweet to think of dispersing a herd of cattle that we have worked diligently to create. We are proud of the progress we have made in the past ten years. Our bulls have performed well at the University of Idaho Research Center at Carmen, Idaho, and our bulls have been well accepted in our Bitterroot Performance bull sales. It all starts with the cow, so we are confident you will find real world cows that will perform and produce the kind of cattle that you will be proud of in our dispersal. You will find good gaining ability as well as high fertility to be hallmarks of our program. We wanted to stress carcass qualities and calving ease as evidenced by our herd bull, SMA Upward Design 26 (AAA ). His $Beef and CED of 11 are evidence of our breeding. Our other herd bull, SMA Staight Answer 2524 (AAA ), has a CED of 10 and a $Beef of His calves come easy and yet are excellent growers. Both of these bulls will be sold in our dispersal. We have used the influence of the Sitz and Mytty cow herds primarily with some less influence from Coleman, Edwards and Paws Up cows. You will find embryos being offered from the 1468 cow and 75S cow with both cows coming from the Mytty herd. The 1468 cow was co-owned by Saddle Mountain Angus and Mytty Angus. The Paws Up Prospector 2026 Right Time cow has been one of the leading cow families in our herd. The Hoover Dam-ER Beauty dam, tracing to Rainmaker 6169, has been an excellent cow and her Ten X daughter will be placed early in our sale order. Calving ease bulls such as Mytty In Focus and Final Answer have seen much use. Sitz Upward has been used to increase performance and carcass qualities. Other leading sires such as Black Granite and Ten X are currently being used as well as Sitz Sensation. You will be able to see DNA data for the past three years to further increase the reliability of our EPDs. Time marches on and a few health issues have encouraged us to host this dispersal. We are excited by the Angus breed of cattle and would like to remain a part of the progress the American Angus Association has achieved.
