Start Time: 6:30pm & Ends at 9:30pm) FROM THE PRESIDENT It was nice to say hello to everyone at last month s opening meeting and learn of summer fishing adventures. Not every outing is a triumph and one must put in the time to learn how to best fish any stretch of water, in order to achieve success. Most people that fly fish are more then willing to share what they have learned over the years. Fishing should be a time to enjoy stepping back from the rat race, a time to enjoy the outdoors, in the company of friends. For those of you that prefer to chase after trout the fall stockings are underway and you can enjoy fishing many of the ponds and rivers in southern New England in less crowded conditions. For those that prefer the salt, now is the time of year when large fish come within fly casting distance of shore and dreams may come true. Please note, that the Crossroads Anglers monthly newsletter can be found on the web site and that we are going digital and will thus, only mail out a copy of the newsletter if it is requested. Therefore, if you wish to receive a print copy of the newsletter mailed to your residence simply let me one of the board members know at one of the regular meetings and we will be happy to accommodate you.

2 In addition, the board would like to send an reminder of the monthly meeting a week prior to the meeting so, please be sure to provide us with a current address (that you check regularly) so, we can make this happen. We would also like to send the newsletter out with the rather than directing members to the message board. We are looking for material for the raffle; people seem to like books but, any & all good suggestions or help securing interesting items as it relates to the raffle are welcome too. COMING SOON Crossroads Anglers club hats priced at $20.00 a piece and weather proof stickers for your car with the club logo priced at $2.00 a piece will also be available in the Fall of 2010!

3 The Latest Rhode Island & CT Salt-Water Fishing Report reads as follows: According to the most recent reports, charter boat captains based in CT along the Long Island Sound are reporting that the stripers are in thick off of Montauk, Long Island with many guides reporting 60 fish days for customers and seeing acres and acres of stripers in unprecedented levels chasing baitfish to the surface. Well, if these reports are indeed accurate (and I have no reason to believe that they are not since, my sources are most reliable) it sure sounds like at least some fishermen, have found the whereabouts of the elusive stripers during the much anticipated Fall Run! On the Water website: *Be sure to check out the MA & Rhode Island fishing reports for up to date fresh & salt-water fishing opportunities each and every week by visiting their free on-line fishing report at MASS Wildlife Reports that: The Fall trout stocking occurs in a 2-week period, usually beginning in the last week of September and ending before Columbus Day. Due to the short stocking season, the fall stocking activity will not be on this Stocking Schedule. However, if you refer to the State website you will learn which bodies of water will be restocked in the weeks ahead.
