IN THIS ISSUE Officer/Adviser reports pg 2 Officer reports pg 3 Spring Conclave recap pg 4 Previous LECM Minutes pg 5-6 Chapter reports pg 7-8 Calendar pg 9 Hosted by John Fulk and Troy Kilzer, this year s Fall Fellowship will be held out at Camp Mitigwa from Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23. This event is so huge because this is the first event that newly elected members can attend, those who have not gone through their ordeal can obtain their membership that weekend, current brothers can just come out and join others in fellowship, and some brothers will be called out for the prestigious Vigil Honor! Shooting sports, the climbing tower, trading post, and much more will be open during the weekend! Competitive activities between members and chapters will be available all around camp. We will also elect new Chapter and Lodge officer positions for the year! We will begin the weekend 5:30 p.m. Friday night with registration and will conclude Sunday morning after clean up. Please keep checking for schedules, updates, and sign up for this exciting event! Spread the word, and we hope to see you out at Camp! 1

2 Lodge Chief Report Lodge Adviser Report Communications Report It was a really good weekend at Spring Conclave. A big thank you to Eddy and Bob for hosting the event! I m glad everyone was safe during the freakstorm early Sunday morning. I hope to see everyone at Fall fellowship. Bring someone new with you this year! In WWW, Garret Davies Thanks to all who helped get Camp Mitigwa ready for the summer! And my personal thanks to Eddy and Bob for putting it together. I plan on being at camp every Thursday night to help with the call out ceremonies so I hope to see many of you lining the trail for Scouts, Scouters, and families. Be sure and put all the lodge events on your calendars and plan on attending one or more. Get the word out for ArrowTour at the Scout Center in Des Moines on July 18. History, fun games, and food! If you are available, we are looking for Service Corps for ArrowTour as well as Cub Fun Day. Sign up now for ArrowTour and watch for more information on Cub Fun Day. Another successful weekend in the books! Thanks everyone for coming out to Spring Conclave and help getting camp ready! All chapters have turned in 3/4 reports for Mitigwa Chief, as part of the gold requirement for JTE. However I will need the following chapters to turn in their chapter newsletter (Silver requirement for JTE) to me so that way chapters can receive the gold status: Golden Eagle, Tamaha, Bo Qui, RRV, Hawkeye. Membership Report There were 184 registered participants this weekend, this number is a little lower than last year s Spring Conclave, last year we had 232 people, so next year I would like everyone

3 Membership Report There were 184 registered participants this weekend, this number is a little lower than last year s Spring Conclave, last year we had 232 people, so next year I would like everyone to promote more and recruit more youth to be at this event. Trading post: If you would like to purchase noac apparel please be on the look out for an soon. We plan on ordering Frisbees, water jugs, coffee mugs, and a t-shirt. Details to come later. We had 21 people go through ordeal today and 19 went through brotherhood on Friday, and we also had 28 go through Sunday s brotherhood ceremony. I was pleased with the amount of people who wanted to be an Elangomat/Nimat, I had to actually turn some people down because we had too many. In WWW, Paul Filipelli Ceremonies Report Ceremonies are going well- the new brotherhood turned out to be a huge success. Snowflake Powwow- we have decided to switch to a practice similar to nationals; more individual focussed and a whole team evaluation. We are doing away with chapter competitions, and instead comparing them to a norm, with an I being the best and a III being that the team needs work. In WWW, Joe Kramer E&P Report Over spring conclave the elections and promotions team finished up entering all the collected troop data and is now ready for summer camp callout. Also, from a preliminary look at the numbers, as a lodge we achieved almost 100% visitation to all troops! I would like to thank the chapter Vice Chiefs for all they have done through the year, all lodge members who either ran or helped with elections and a special thanks to Jeff Flowers and Christian Roberts for staying late over Spring Conclave and helping with data entry. 4 2015 Spring Conclave recap This years Spring Conclave was held at its usual place, Camp Mitigwa, from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17. We had 184 people turn out for the weekend! Of those 184, 21 went through their ordeal and 47 went through their brotherhood! The whole goal for the weekend was not only to get members to the level in OA, but to help get Camp Mitigwa ready for summer camp. Many projects were done throughout camp, which included building torches, cutting dead trees, cleaning pools, setting up tent city, and other duties around camp. There was also a variety of games that were played at the end of the day, to relax and have fun with friends. Baseball and gaga ball highlighted the fun activities that went on. Just like every event, we had our Lodge Executive Committee Meeting Satuday night. (Details on page 5-6) It was a rather short meeting but got a lot accomplished. Despite a freak storm system that woke up camp at 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning, all of the brotherhood candidates were rested up for the 2nd brotherhood ceremony that morning. The new ceremony went excellent, performed by Joe Kramer and his ceremony team! The weekend concluded around 10:00 a.m. after chapters completed their cleaning assignments. Spring Conclave was a very productive weekend. Thank you to all the chapters and attendees who helped out! 4

Lodge Officer reports: Chief- Having a good weekend so far. Really helped out Rangers a lot with getting camp ready, want to thank everyone for contributing. Communications- We have all mid-term forms collected and will try to fix some things. I would like all communications officers to send in their chapter newsletter in to me so that we have them in our data base. Ceremonies- Ceremonies are going well. 1 st new brotherhood ceremony last night went really well. All summer camp weeks are straightened out with everyone. We look forward to seeing all of the chapters perform at summer camp. E&P- Got all E&P data collected. Thanks to everyone for getting them in. Should have most of it finished up by this weekend. Membership- We had 184 people registered for this weekend. Numbers are down a few so I would like to see more people next year. We had 19 go through brotherhood on Friday. 21 new ordeals this weekend. The new ordeals worked hard and got a lot accomplished. We will have new merchandise for summer camp at the trading post including frisbees, coffee mugs, shirts, and others. 5. Chapter Officer reports Bo Qui- Workday was done up at Camp. Cut trees and wood in March. Planned picnic got cancelled due to rain, so fun day was at A&W. We had 15 members attend the fun day. Broken Arrow- We ve had 3 meetings since our last LECM. We performed this weekend at Spring Conclave and ceremonies went well. Tamaha- Had chapter work weekend on May 2 nd as well as a cookout in May. E&P is 100% done. We will not have meetings June-August. Golden Eagle- Had a workday on April 11 with 7 chapter members present at workday. With a total of 68 hours of working. Hosted a Cub Scout spring event with 5 chapter members present. Chapter members were present at Phil Valentine s funeral last week. Phil was a Vigil honor member from Golden Eagle. RRV- We have had 3 chapter meetings since last LECM. We had a chapter workday cleaning around Akela pool and set up the new Akela shooting sports range. In March we had a chapter meeting with Scott Robinson on repairing head dresses. We had potluck In May. Hawkeye- We have 1 more troop election to do. Ceremonies are getting closed to being completely memorized. There was a workday at Grinnell Scoutland with 12 scouts and 10 leaders. We also helped with District Cub Scout shooting that day. Approv- 5

Broken Arrow chapter report Here s a list of what I ve been doing - Got a list of Chapter Scoutmasters so I can contact them about OA Reps for their troops. - Sending out s about upcoming service events for our Chapter - Helped contact people with help of other members in our Chapter to encourage them to come to Spring Conclave - Increased the amount of people that receive s by sending out reminders through Lodge Master with the help of Troy Rutter and David Konfrst Golden Eagle chapter report Had a workday on April 11 with 7 chapter members present at workday. This event is for all Vigil members and member that were called out at Fall Fellowship October 10 Cub Fun Day, Camp Mitigwa. Be sure to mark your calendars October 31 LLDC, Fred Maytag Scout Center II. This event is for all chapter officers to attend. Anyone else is welcome to join if interested!
