Diary of an Insect by Ms. Carlino's 2nd Grade 2007
What's all the "buzz" about? This book is a product of a lot of hard work. We had to keep a journal and do a lot of research in order to put this book together. We dedicate it to all the people who drive us "buggy!" 1
Mitchell Griffith Fire Ant Today I woke up and went to Ant School. I wrote about people because they are my fear. I don't see people in my tunnel, but I do see them when I go to watch my friend play Antball. Where the catcher sits, behind him are 2 fences. They are always crawling with people. People are so scary! 2
Allison Kryszan Yellow Jacket I woke up at 7:30. For breakfast I had a piece of lollipop. I got dressed. I wore a black vest and yellow shorts. For slippers, I wore blue and white ones. I got to the forest and did D.O.L. After that we got to do research on a reptile. I love going to the forest! 3
Aharon Sebton Tick This morning I woke up and remembered there was no school! So I went back to sleep and when I woke up, I had brunch: a four year old's blood. My friend Tickaru called and invited me over. We played outside with his animal fluid vacuum and observed the fluids in the clear tube. Then we played with his electric blood set and stopped to play Mario Disease on his Poison Station. After a snack we played Castle and Mites. Then it was time to go home. It was a great day and I am tired. Good Night! ZZZZZZZZ! 4
Gabby Repp House Fly We aren't having flyball today. We haven't had it since last Thursday. Today I made a painting of a flying fly. I did it outside and got bit by a tick. I killed it and looked at it with my big eyes. I also had rotted food for dinner. My mom told me flying season is coming soon. "Cool!" I said. I can't wait! 5
Jillian Stout Butterfly Would you like to know what I am writing about? I am writing about when I went to Fly's tropical tree for a sleep over. First we went for a fly. We went all around the sky. Then we watched "Flying with Bugs." After that we got ready for bed. We talked for a while. When we woke up, we had breakfast. I had nectar, my favorite food. I love going to Fly's! 6
Clara Dandrea Assassin Bug Today I played "Squeeze the Bug"' at recess. We did a game called "Chase" after that. Then I played with my friend, Moth. The we came in and had Life or Death. Our special was Blood Sucking. We played "Who Can Suck the Blood Out of a Fly First." I won. Today was so cool! 7
Christopher McMahon Grasshopper Today in gym, we played "Bug Stealing." Here's how you play. Grasshoppers are "it" and you have to try to get a bug and then fly back to your team. After that we did bug book. We learned about centimeters. When we got back to ACAC, we had some good twigs. I hope I get to play "Stealing Bugs" again. 8
David Behrenhauser Army Ant I woke up on Bugday when the sun was up. I had beetles and grasshoppers for breakfast. I got dressed and went to the bug stop. I went to school and it was a fantastic day! My sister and I went to bugkarate. Then we went to the bug Acme. After that we went home and helped mom with dinner. We had wormburgers. Then I took my bug bath and did my homework. 9
10 Nicole Solano-Ruiz Cricket Do you want to know what I am writing about? Well, I am going to write about what I did yesterday. I played jumprope, hulabug, and jumpbug. Next we went for my 'jumpers' because a boy's dog took my jumpers and almost chewed them up. Then we went to the grasshouse to watch T.V. and go to sleep.
Sana Makke Virginia Tiger Beetle Do you know what I did today? I woke up and got dressed. I wore my new tiger suit. Then I ate some gnats and a fly. I went to my favorite, busiest tunnel. My friends were there playing Beetleball. Then I went to bed in my soil. 11
August Barrett Praying Mantis Today was a great day! We had a buggeshowr about Praying Mantis Acrobats. For lunch I had a blood sandwich, a frog leg and a lizard's head. At recess we played "Catch the Insect" and "Insect Ball." After that, it was time for read or rest. I read 2 books about praying mantises. Then it was time for the buggershow. It was so cool! 12
Neha Chodapaneedi Walking Stick This morning I woke up and brushed my tongue. I ran down the stairs and ate my breakfast. I had leaves. I got to my tree. After a while me and my dad went to the Insect Pharmacy. I got home and got into my real color. I brushed again and got into bed. 13
14 Sarah Conrad Bumblebee Guess what I did in today! I woke up and ate some honey cereal. Then I brushed my teeth with orange toothpaste. After that I put on my new black and yellow coat and my shiny black shoes. Then I went to the Queen's bug mobile and picked my job. For lunch I had some grasshopper soup and a honey sandwich. Later that day we had honey making and then we got to do Nectar Patrol! Then I went back to my hive.
Christopher Hetzel Lightning Bug Do you want to know what I did in school yesterday? First, we did Leaf.O.L as usual. I wrote about who was the buggest. Buginda was the buggest. After that we had leaves outside. Later, I ate lunch with Shiner. We both bought FrenchLeaf. At bugtime, Shiner and I rushed to the pebble field to play. We had a lot of fun! 15
Matthew Cappelli Horsefly Do you want to know what happened today? First, I put on my favorite bug shirt and pants. I brushed my bloody teeth and went downstairs to have some blood for breakfast. Then we went to the leaf stop and played lacrosse. Then the leaf came. We did all the normal stuff at school. At recess we got to play all kinds of games. I love school! 16
Kayleigh Shearn Tiger Moth Do you want to hear what I did today? Well, my alarm went off at 6:25, so I went downstairs to eat breakfast. I had plants and nectar. After that, I went back upstairs to get the sticky nectar off my teeth. Then I went to the bus stop and got to school. After D.O.L we had a flying test. I passed! The rest of the day was easy! 17
Em Mossblad Ladybug Today before school I ate Fruity Aphids. Then I went to school. We did Aphid.o.l. Then I had snack. I had aphid balls, aphid sticks, and an aphid drink for lunch. Then I went outside and played "Aphid Ball." It was time to go inside. Then the ladybug buses were called. It was time to go home. 18
Ruth Agbokah Monarch Butterfly Today I had nectar for breakfast and then I went to water my plants. My mom told me to get dressed. I wore my favorite pants. They are many different colors. My mom said I had to go get my friend Monarch a birthday present at the Insect Mall. I got her a pretty flower. I can't wait to give it to her! 19
Cameron Cox Long Horned Beetle Today I had pollen for breakfast. I did my biography book report. I am learning about Wayne Beetle. Then I got dressed. I wore a Superbug shirt. I gathered my things for school. I didn't want to forget my lunch. It had my favorite in it, damaged tree trunks! Finally, I went to school to begin my day. 20
Ally Aurillo Wasp One sunny day I woke up and got dressed and went downstairs. Then I had pollen for breakfast. After that I went to school and did Nectar.O.L. Another thing is I had flowers for snack. Also then we wrote about the human we were researching. I had some nectar for lunch and then played "Freeze Fly" at recess. In art class we listened to music and looked at paintings. My favorite was the wasp one. I had a great day! 21
Rivaldo Loeaza Mosquito Today I ate Tootie Bloodies for breakfast. Then I went to school. Next I did F.L.Y. Later I sucked some blood for snack. At 12:30 we went outside. I was playing "Blood Taking." That afternoon the gym teacher came to our classroom. Soon we went to an assembly. It was about mosquito acrobats. I had a good day! 22
Amelia Turgeon Leaf Cutter Ant This is what I did on my day off. I got up and went to my mom's work colony. Then we had lunch. I had a tamale with fungus filling. My mom's friend Anty came, too. My mom and I also made some stories about two evil spiders. After that I played with my Army Ant toys that I brought with me. Then we went back to our own colony. 23
