As hunting and fishing dependent businesses, we drive dollars to all types of communities and help sustain America s outdoor traditions. Our economic wellbeing depends on highquality, accessible fish and wildlife habitat, and that s why we are writing to request your active support for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Supported by off-shore gas royalties not taxpayer dollars the Land and Water Conservation Fund has served to improve habitat and provide public access for hunting and fishing across America for 50 years. Since its inception in 1964, the fund has been used to invest over $16 billion in conservation and outdoor recreation, including the establishment of new public fishing areas, new access into landlocked and checkerboarded parcels of public lands, and the acquisition of new public lands for the benefit of fish, wildlife, and the sporting public. American sportsmen and the businesses that depend on outdoor recreation are asking you to reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Doing so is critical to continuing to grow America s outdoor economy, and it is important for our longstanding outdoor heritage.
