(817) AMA Gold Leader Club The Greater Southwest Aero Modelers, Inc. is a nonprofit organization. Membership is nondiscriminatory and open to anyone who agrees to abide by Club By-Laws. A condition of membership for insurance purposes is current affiliation with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Our flying field is located at 6903 Randol Mill Road, 1/4 mile east of exit 26 off of Loop 820 at N W Visitors are welcome whenever the gate is unlocked. Free flight training instruction is available to members from 6:00 PM to dusk on Monday and Wednesday while Daylight Savings Time is in effect. Regular Club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM at the McDonalds Restaurant, 450 Grapevine Hwy, Hurst TX. The McDonalds is on the north side of Grapevine Hwy, about.1 mi north of Hurstview Dr. GSWAM FIELD SHUT DOWN WHILE DRILLING RIG IS TOWERING OVER THE FIELD! Next Meeting: Christmas Party La Hacienda Ranch Sunday, December 5 7:00PM President s Notes Happy Holidays! Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas is ahead. Our annual Christmas party is this coming Sunday night at La Hacienda Ranch on Highway 121 in the Grapevine/Colleyville area. We have a good night planned with good food, fellowship, and entertainment. I hope you have your tickets already. And I look forward to seeing you there. Believe me, you will be sorry if you miss this one! Once again we have a drilling rig on the east side of our field. As a result the field is closed for flying. We hate to have this happen, but for safety sake it must. I think the rig will be there for about days from start and then we will be enjoying flying once again. Use this time to build a new plane, repair an old plane, or just catch up on that maintenance. Toys for Tots will still take place on the 11 th of December. We will plan on being there to collect the toys and eat lunch. There will probably not be flying unless they hurry with the drilling operation. We can all enjoy lunch and good fellowship. Walt said he will be out at the field early with donuts, coffee, etc. for those that show up early membership materials have been (Continued on page 3)

Limit might need to be set for field. Tim Lovett President From the Vice President I am recovering from haitus hernia and gallbladder surgery, I am sorry that I missed the Christmas party but I am on an all liquid diet at this time and not getting around great. I will not be able to lift any heavy objects for at least a month. I hope to be back and moving in about 2 weeks. I know closing the field was not a popular item and I am sorry for not signing the post when I posted the item. I know that several question were asked on who closed the field and I apologize for the lack of information. Several things need to be accomplished next year and I will assure you that your elected board members are working to make this field one of the nicest one in the area. Congratulations To: Lawrence Harville for becoming the Scale Board Member for district 8. New Keys for the 2011 season should be available by Toy for Tots Dec 11. Hope to be flying soon and hope that this is the last time the field will need to be closed for the Gas Well drilling Lee Thanks to Steve Rogers and Walt Fisher for building the new starting stands. They are almost too pretty to use!! (Continued from page 1) delivered to Roy s and Airport Pawn. I went to get the keys from the locksmith and they only had 10 keys ready. I delivered those to Roy s and will get the remaining keys to the hobby shops hopefully by Thursday afternoon, December 2 nd. If you have a master key, please do not get one of the New Year s keys. Your master will still function. Lee Rice, as many of you know, had a little surgery on December 1 st. As a result of that, he asked me to take care of some things that he would normally do. I would like to say that he is busier than most of us even give credit doing for this club. Next time you see him make certain to thank him for all the hard work he puts into this club. I know that I certainly will! GSW will conduct a Fly-In for TOYS FOR TOTS 11 December See the attached flyer for details. Walt and Max will be hosting the event.
