Blue water fishing is also an option - rates range from $220 to $250 per person/per day based on 4-5 anglers per boat. Half-day rates are also available.

2 Fishing: Prepare to be astounded! The amount of water and variety of species covered by Andros South is truly staggering. With four different fisheries for Bonefish, including creek systems, inland saltwater lakes, the southern end and west side, there are limitless opportunities available for classic flats wading, poling from a skiff or even inland wading. The creek systems consist of an extremely productive fishery with seemingly endless bays, flats and channels. Fish here are typically found in groups of 1-10 and aside from providing access to the west side of South Andros, creeks are a great location to fish and get out of the wind. Some areas on South Andros cannot be accessed by boat and the only way to reach them is by wading on foot. The guides of Andros South know a vast array of inland flats, saltwater lakes and ponds that can be loaded with Bonefish. Imagine yourself ankle deep with schools of landlocked hungry Bonefish. The south end of the island is a fly fisherman s dream! Hundreds of keys, hundreds of flats all stretching further than the eye can see. Many of the flats have hard, white sand bottoms and are excellent for wading and spotting fish. It is not uncommon to see hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of Bonefish per day. The west side of South Andros is totally uninhabited and filled with countless creeks and bays. The Bonefish on the west side are big, with singles, doubles and small groups of fish being the norm. With a prime location and excellent guides, Andros South covers one of the most prolific and diverse bonefisheries in the world. Aside from the great bonefishing opportunities, there are also large numbers of Barracuda and Shark (Black Tips, Lemon and Bull Shark), which are fantastic fun on a fly rod. Poppers, deceivers, clousers and needlefish patterns have all been productive flies. While fishing for Bonefish, it s always a good idea to have a Barracuda/Shark rod set up, as you never know when a great opportunity for these toothy hunters will arise.

Andros South also offers an offshore blue water fishing program, where for an additional charge you will have the opportunity to fish the Tongue of the Ocean.

And not to worry, you will not be fishing from a flat s boat, but a spacious 25 foot Power Cat, powered by twin 150 horse power Yamaha four-strokes.

A deep offshore trench, it is home to great populations of Dorado, Tuna, Ocean Barracuda, Sharks, Billfish and more. Lodge Facility and Accommodations: Situated on a beautiful white sand beach, Andros South is a comfortable, relaxed bonefishing lodge. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, yet the service and staff remain top notch. The lodge accommodates up to 12 anglers per week, in clean, airconditioned, SINGLE occupancy rooms, each with a private bathroom and shower. In a separate building is the dining room, also air-conditioned, where each night delicious home cooked meals are prepared. Here stories of fishing bravado run rampant and good company is enjoyed. Lastly, Andros South boasts a small tiki hut on the beach where appetizers are served and a cold beer or cocktail awaits the weary angler at any hour. This is a great place to relax, smoke a cigar and discuss the day s adventures. For people who need to keep in touch with the real world, a phone and computer with Internet access is readily available. What s Included: The prices listed include: lodging, guided fishing, shuttle to and from Congo Town, all meals, beer, wine, liquor, flies, terminal tackle and loaner gear. In addition, Andros South has added Global Rescue (GR) Emergency Services to all their trips. With GR, if you require hospitalization during your trip you will be transported to your home hospital of choice. GR also provides critical emergency medical advisory services for travelers.

4 What s NOT Included: The prices listed do NOT include airfare to and from Congo Town, South Andros, or any guide/staff gratuities. Guests typically leave an average of $380 for the week. (Generally, guides are tipped in cash at the end of each fishing day, approximately $80 per boat ($40 per angler), and lodge staff averages $20 per day per person that can be left at the end of your stay.) Non-Angling Activities: While primarily catering to the hardcore angler, Andros South also boasts one of the finest white sand beaches in the area. For those needing a break from the relentless fishing action, consider lounging oceanside for a day, swimming, reading a book or practicing your casting. How to Get There: From the Congo Town Airport, Andros South is approximately a 20-minute ride by shuttle. Flying into Congo Town there are several options. There is Lynx Air International, which flies nonstop several times per week between Fort Lauderdale International Airport, Florida and Congo Town. Lynx Air has a mid-day Saturday flight that matches up well with the lodges customary weekly changeover. Reservations on Lynx Air can be booked online at or via telephone at Another option is a flight on Western Air from nearby Nassau (A short 20 minute flight!). Western Air offers twice daily flights into Congo Town, leaving Nassau at 7:00am and 3:00pm. The flights return back to Nassau at 7:30am and 3:30pm respectively. When checking in with Western Air in Nassau, you will need $140 in cash, either US or Bahamian ($1 US = $1 Bahamian) to pay for your round-trip ticket. A third option if you are traveling with groups of more than 6 people, is to hire a private charter. Andros South works with several charter companies in Fort Lauderdale and would be happy to work with you. Upon your arrival in Congo Town, an Andros South representative will greet you and drive you the short way to the lodge.

5 Last Trip Summary: Excited to have left the frigid weather of western New York behind, we arrived at Andros South via the Congo Town airport on the afternoon of February 10th. That evening following a delicious home cooked meal, we relaxed with the other guests as they recanted their previous adventures with Andros South. Needless to say, we were excited for the day ahead. Our first day found us facing mph winds, not a great day to head south or to the west side, but a perfect day to fish the creeks and find some relief from the wind. Fishing the creeks proved to be a good idea all day there were casting opportunities to singles, doubles and small pods of Bonefish. Our guide Charlie did a great job putting us on to fish and we were able to wade fish as well as cast from the boat. The number of bays and islands we encountered were amazing and we were grateful for their protection from the wind. The second day we awoke to very calm, sunny conditions. South end here we come! Traveling for about 45 minutes by boat we arrived at the end of the island and were welcomed by beautiful flat calm water. Perfect! Our guide Sparkles put us on to large schools of Bonefish throughout the day, my biggest fish landed being 7-8 pounds. The highlight of the day however, was when I landed a 46 Barracuda that put up a fantastic fight, jumping 3 times and making repeated runs deep into my backing. For our third day we headed down south again, but that s not to say we came anywhere close to fishing the same water you could fish weeks if not months down there and not see the same water twice. Our guide Ellie took us to many deserted islands where we would hop out and wade fish around it back to the boat. We also saw some of the most amazing flats, several of which had schools of Bonefish in the hundreds, one school was close to 1,000 fish! At the end of each day, we would come back to the lodge where appetizers and cold drinks were served before dinner at the beachside tiki bar. You couldn t ask for a better end to the day. Andros South was an incredible lodge the staff, the guides, the fishing and the general camaraderie truly a find among Bonefish lodges. Our only complaint is that we were only there 3 days. Next time we are going for a week, and even that might not be enough!
