See Item No Bracebridge Minor Softball Association requesting that the week of June 19th through June 26th be designated "Minor Softball Week in Ontario". See New Item No The Town of Richmond Hill requesting that the Town of Bracebridge endorse their resolution calling for action by the Federal and Provincial Governments for exploration in alternative methods of power production. Muskoka District Mutual Fire Aid Association enclosing the minutes of their meeting held on March 11, The Kinsmen Club of Bracebridge requesting permission to hold their Fireworks Display in Jubilee Park on Sunday, May 23rd with Monday, May 24th as an alternate date. Permission was granted to the Kinsmen Club to hold the fireworks display on these dates. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Galbraith requesting that they be permitted to purchase ten to twenty feet of the Municipally owned lot beside their residence at 350 Manitoba Street. See New Item No Town of Lindsay requesting that the Town of Bracebridge endorse their resolution to voice considerable objection to the Provincial Government programme concerning health care across the Province of Ontario. Rev. M.J. Scarrow, Minister of the Pentecostal Church, requesting the permission of the Committee to present special gospel music in Memorial Park from 7:00 P.M. to 7:45 P.M. on June 26th, July 24th and August 7th.

2 Mr. Scarrow is to be advised that the Municipality has no objection to gospel music being conducted at the times requested subject to no objections being received from the residents of the area. Muskoka-Parry Sound Health Unit enclosing a folder on mosquito control. Ministry of Treasury, Economics and Intergovernmental Affairs enclosing a speech of the Honourable Darcy McKeough with respect to Regional Governments and local taxation increases over the past few years. Ministry of the Solicitor General enclosing a monthly newsletter on the criminal justice system dealing with the bill to abolish capital punishment and curb violent offences. Ontario Industrial Development Council Incorporated enclosing their newsletter of April 1976 which included excerpts from the newspaper coverage with respect to the Uniroyal purchase of the Corning Glass Works property. None required. Street Naming It was the feeling of the Committee that a motion should be presented to the next regular Council Meeting naming the former Highway No. 11 from its intersection with Cedar Lane to the rechannelized four lane No. 11 Highway "Bracebridge Road". A motion will also be presented to the next regular Council Meeting naming the roadway leading from District Road No. 4 southerly between Draper and Muskoka North Wards to and along the Muskoka River South branch "Keith's Road". Repeat. Recreational Services Committee Budget This budget has now been incorporated into the total Municipal Budget. Closed. Minor Softball Week At the request of the Bracebridge Minor Softball Association a motion will be presented to the next regular Council Meeting naming the week of June 19th to June 26th as "Minor Softball Week". Repeat. Item #256: Property Purchase - Galbraith A letter has been received from Mr. and Mrs. Brian Galbraith of 350 Manitoba Street, Bracebridge requesting that they be permitted to purchase ten to twenty feet of the lot owned by the Town of Bracebridge beside their property. This matter is to be further investigated and returned to the next Committee Meeting. Repeat. Item #257: Municipal and School Tax Assistance Programme Enquiries are being made with the Ministry of Treasury with respect to the Municipal and School Tax Assistance Programme which provides assistance for persons 65 years of age and over in the payment of their Municipal taxes to a maximum amount of $ The amount of relief is registered against the property in the form of a lien to be paid off at the time of sale of the property.
