1 PE and Sport Premium Expenditure at Broughton CE Primary - April March 2018 Total amount allocated: 18,165 Equipment Tri golf set The expenditure that took place here was a complete refresh of the PE equipment in school to enable high quality lessons and after school sessions to take place in a variety of sports, games and activities. In Upper Key Stage 2, there was notable success in the development of the children s rounders and cricket skills which saw the children compete well against other local schools.
2 Coaches KS1 - fitness training Total The younger children had a good learned new multi-skills that they could apply to their athletics knowledge. Rugby Club - Y4/5/6 - Grasshoppers coach The coach produced fun and engaging sessions that led to us competing in the annual Year 5/6 Total tournament where we finished in 8 th place overall. Sessions to continue in Dance Club - Y5 plus one curriculum lesson - coach 210 Sally, the dance teacher, produced fun sessions and packed with content which led to us performing at the annual competition for Year 5s in Preston. The level of dance ability and enthusiasm from all children has grown through the sessions. Reception Dance 50 Total 1580 Judo - Year The judo has been a highly successful Judo - Year programme for the Year 6 students Judo - Y5/6 personal safety awareness 180 for the last few years. The sessions equip the children with skills and Judo - anti-bullying theme - Y3/4/5/6 280 knowledge to help them feel safe when travelling independently to Total 1210 high school. Gymnastics coaching for Y1 and This coaching by Katharine Woods Gymnastics coaching for Y1 and Gymnastics coaching 130 Gymnastics coaching for Y1/2/3/4/5/6 245 Total 825 has been invaluable and has helped to developthe skills of all children across the school. Memberships and Competitions Preston Primary Sports Council 15 Since the PE subject leader returned DB Education Services - Summer to the school in May 2017, participation DB Education Services - Summer in a wide range of competitions have been an integral part of the school s Preston Primary Schools Sports Competitions 70 strategy to engage more children in Preston City Sportshall Athletics 40 sport. Hire of court - ball indoor 32.4 competitions have been at the heart Hire of four courts 32.4 of everything the school does in DB Mangement sports competitions 120 terms of sport. We ensure that children Lancashire County Sportshall League affilitaion fee 100 with a wide range of abilities are able to
3 Total participate with over eighty children having the opportunity to take part in a competition during the last academic year. This focus on competitions has led to a significant increase of children taking part in extra curricular sport with 95% of children across KS2 attending at least one sports club. Healthy Eating Initiative Whole School Football Development Programme - 2 days 650 The Football Development Programme Whole School Football Development Programme - 2 days 650 are fantastic with all children. They delivered sessions to all of KS1 and KS2 and the feedback from the children is that they want them to come back every year. Total 1300 Engraving and trophies Triathlon trophy 9.95 The introduction of the honours board New trophy 7.5 recognises both achievement and Medals 90 participation in sport on when Year 6 leave. The children see this board as an acknowledgement of all their hard work and efforts and it inspires other Updating honours board 99 children to strive for this award. Total Sportswear Embroidered badge set up When the PE subject leader returned in Embroidered school badge May 2017, after observing how other Red/white T-shirt 11.5 PE teachers attire themselves, it was decided that we needed to strive to Black/red T-shirt 11.5 look as equally professional and sporty Red/white polo shirt 13.5 in a uniformed way. Black/red polo All garments clearly have our school shirt 13.5 badge displayed and the name of the HZ tts top red/white school is clear on the garments also. HZ tts top These are vital components of looking red/black smart and professional. Printed initials The kit is worn every single day of the Size 4 precision fusion academic year and again provides a T-shirt black/white 11.5 model to the children. This was essential to ensure that both the PE provision and the extra curricular activities Mitre 10 ball mesh sack 50 provision was kept high with a wide Mini tennis orange bucket 55 variety. Size 4 football 90 As a result of the above elements Agility ladder 55 being of a high standard, the level of Training hurdles 96 success that we had as a school P&P 8.29 this summer was unprecendented. Slazenger pink airball senior 40 Year 5/6 Girls Cricket team came 2 nd Plastic cricket bat size 5 30 out of 400 schools in the whole of Plastic cricket bat size 3 30 Lancashire, the Year 5/6 Boys Cricket team reached the county finals and Coloured egg and spoon set 16 a Year 4/5 Athletics team won the Jump sacks 30 Preston Year 6 Town Athletics. Skipping ropes 10 Aluminium 12ft x 6ft goal package The school football were replaced as the old ones were in poor repair. These are used weekly. Total
5 Coaches Rugby Club - Y4/5/6 - Grasshoppers coach 250 The level of skill in the group 300 grew significantly over the year and Total 550 the sessions were engaging. This will continue on Mondays in Dance Club - Y5 plus one curriculum lesson - coach 250 Sally, the dance teacher, delivered 300 sessions packed with content and skill 300 and the Year 5 s ended up taking a team to the annual festival, where we produced a high quality group dance. This will continue in Total 850 Gymnastics - Y3, 5 and Katharine from Longridge Gymnastics 180 Club contributed to delivering the 180 Lancashire KS2 curriculum with real Total 475 confidence. As a result, the skill level across KS2 has increased significantly and our results in competitions this year has been pleasing. Football coaching - Y1/2 - two days 650 The Football Development Team Total 650 produced engaging and knowledgable sessions for this age group and the children learnt the basic skills needed in football. As a result, an increased number of boys and girls have now joined clubs outside of school. Judo 390 The session taught the Year 6 children Total 390 Total all coaches 2915 about staying safe on the streets and being aware of their surroundings as they go to high school. Memberships and Competitions DB Education Services 120 This period between April and August Preston Primary Schools Sports Council 30 has been one of the most successful PPSSC Sports Competitions - Summer Term 20 in Broughton s history. The girls cricket team were second in Lancashire; the girls football team reached the cup final at Deepdale; the boys cricket team reached the County Final and a set of Year 4/5s beat all the other Year 6s in Preston to win the Town Athletics trophy. We have competed in evry possible competition and taken over fifty children to competitions in this term alone, building the Opportunity DB Education Services - summer term for All element we are striving to competitions 95 achieve. 6 Outdoor areas Football pitch care Total We bought a line marker that the PE subject leader will use to keep on top of pitch markings all year round and save the local council have to come out regularly at a relatively high cost. This will help us save money over the year and keep the pitch in good, useable condition. Sportswear Printed initials The PE subject leader has invested in a Broughton embroidered badge variety of uniformed kit that will be T shirt yellow/black 11.5 worn every day of the year. This gives a more professional look when T shirt orange/black 11.5 participating in competitions at both a local and county level. Jacket black/yellow Jacket black/orange It has also given the role of PE teacher a more professional feel. This will be a Jacket red/black sustainable look as the sport in primary Windbreaker black/orange schools across Preston is currently Windbreaker anthracite/black thriving and it is vital that we maintain our competitive, professional reputation Club badge 2.92 that we have worked really hard to Printed initials 1.67 achieve and maintain. Verti-draining and reseeding the top The maintenance of the top field is vital to ensure field in Spring 2019 that matches and sports clubs can take place on a regular basis throughout the year, irrespective of the weather.
