2 Introduction Rugby Canada is pleased to announce that the 2nd Canadian Rugby Sevens U18 Championship will be held at the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club! This event is being hosted around the inaugural Canada Sevens which will be hosted at BC Place in Vancouver on the 11 th & 12 th of March. With 2017 being the start of a new Olympic cycle, it is more important than ever to ensure that our young athletes are continuing to develop their skills so that maybe one day, they too can represent the Maple Leaf on the field. Event Overview Date: March 9 th & 10 th, 2017 Location: Burnaby, BC Venue: Burnaby Lake Rugby Club Event Cost Share: $150 per participant* The tournament will follow standard World Rugby laws for Rugby Sevens. Rugby Canada selectors will be in attendance at the tournament to evaluate talent and answer questions regarding the selections process and the high performance pathway *The event Cost Share is an estimate based on 285 participants attending the event, and is subject to change. Rugby Canada will do everything in its power to keep the cost share as low as possible. Schedule Tournament play will begin on the morning of Thursday the 9 th of March, 2017 and run all day at the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club. Tournament play will continue throughout the day on Friday the 10 th of March, 2017, with the Cup Finals for both U18 Men & Women taking place at BC Place during the Canada Sevens on Saturday, March 11 th. The exact game schedule will be finalized once all of the teams have registered. 3 Attending Teams The below table outlines the teams participating in the 2017 Canadian Rugby Sevens U18 Championship for both Men & Women Province Men Women Total AB BC MB NB NL NS ON PEI QC SK Total Teams are asked to declare the number of athletes & team staff participating no later than December 14 th, Please note that each team is allowed a maximum of 15 participants (12 players and 3 staff). Participant declarations can be sent to Paul-Henri at pvanthiel@rugbycanada.ca Training Teams have an optional training day on Wednesday the 9 th of March. Training sessions will be a maximum of 1 hour in length and will be on half fields only. To register your team to a training session, please go to the link below: edit#gid=0 Please note that pitch quality is of utmost importance, and as such Rugby Canada and the City of Burnaby reserves the right to move or cancel training sessions at the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club where necessary.

You must inform Rugby Canada if you opt to rent you own vehicles so we can reduce shuttles where possible, lowering the cost share for all.
