4 CANNOCK CHASE HIGHLIGHTS The following sites are located within the Cannock Chase Regional Community: 5 Food sites, 2 Funeral sites, 2 Healthcare sites, 2 Travel sites, 3 Post Office sites 159 colleagues work within the Regional Community. Your Regional Community enables members and colleagues to work together to support the local community and demonstrate our co-operative difference, including supporting local charities that you are passionate about and volunteering together to give others a helping hand in your neighbourhood. The Regional Community Steering Groups are made up of local colleagues, Board members, Executive members and active local members overseen by Regional Ambassadors. Key Highlights from Cannock Chase Regional Community Our colleagues across Cannock Chase have completed 759 volunteer hours in the local community in the past year Cannock Chase colleagues and members have donated over 1,500 products to their local food banks Over 470 young people have been engaged locally, ranging from Fairtrade workshops to learning about employability skills Members and colleagues have chosen to support the following local community priorities: Tackling Obesity and Health & Fitness We have distributed 6,000 through community grants and carrier bag monies to 18 local good causes We raised over 5,000 for local charity partner Katharine House Hospice

5 CANNOCK CHASE CASE STUDIES Focusing on tackling obesity and health and fitness Local members voted for the Regional Community to focus on tackling obesity and supporting health and fitness opportunities in As an example of how this has been achieved, focused support and donations have been provided to FC Newlands, Cannock Blues FC, Huntington Harriers under-10s football team, and Hednesford Town s girls under-12s team. 6 CANNOCK CHASE CASE STUDIES Cannock pupils help local people in need As part of the local foodbank campaign, Cannock pupils helped support local people in need by donating to a foodbank, with all donations matched by The Society. Pupils from Cannock Chase High School spent a week collecting items to donate to the Cannock District Foodbank on Pye Green Road. The efforts were commemorated with a special harvest assembly led by Revered Hart from St Luke s Church, Richard Howes, Assistant who blessed the produce before it was Head Teacher at Cannock sent to the foodbank. 7 HIGHLIGHTS Across our 20 regional communities we have delivered the following examples in 2016 to help build strong local communities.
