2 Twilight Games Introduction Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport have launched a new equipment loan scheme to allow care homes and organisations working with older people to borrow our Twilight Games activity packs. Our Service Equipment should be collected from and returned to SportPark. There is a selection of equipment packs available and more than one can be hired at a time for a 10 returnable cheque deposit per equipment pack. The maximum loan period is 6 weeks. About the Twilight Games The Twilight Games is a programme of adapted sports for residents in care settings with the objective of enhancing the resident s day to day life through increased mobility, coordination, mental health, wellbeing and increased social activity. To do this, a programme of adapted activities has been devised to accommodate for the range of abilities and levels of mobility amongst the residents. This also includes how the activities will help to support physical and mental coordination and increased mobility through exercise. Page 2 of 5

3 Our Equipment Packs Petanque (2 Packs Available) A form of boules where the goal is to throw balls as close as possible to a smaller ball called a jack. Audio Basketball (4 Packs Available) A unique spin on the game of basketball. The objective is to get a ball into the basket the most times within the time limit. Boccia (4 Packs Available) A game of precision, where the players aim at placing their balls as close to the jack (the white target ball) as possible) Sitting Volleyball (5 Packs Available) A similar take on the sport volleyball, where players in teams stay seated and work together to land the ball in the opposition s court. Bean Bag Target (4 Packs Available) A game of skill, where each player throws their bean bag to achieve the highest scoring position on a target. Page 3 of 5

4 Terms and Conditions Equipment will be loaned subject to completion of the attached form or by completing the form online at: At all times the equipment is the property of Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport (LRS) and we reserve the right to collect the equipment at any time. The return of equipment can be requested by LRS if not being utilised as intended. The person hiring the equipment must be present and ensure adequate supervision levels of the use of equipment at all times and ensure its safe use. The equipment must be returned in its original condition with all parts of the equipment pack present. If the set is returned incomplete or damaged the deposit will not be returned. Additional costs may also be incurred. Any vandalism or willful damage to the equipment; or if the equipment is stolen whilst in possession of the hirer, must be paid for in full by the hirer. LRS takes no responsibility or liability for any injury or accident that may occur whilst using the Twilight Games equipment. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure they have their own correct and up to date insurance in place and that they have conducted robust risk assessments to run the activities. This is not the responsibility of LRS. The organisation is fully responsible for the equipment for the duration of the loan period and must not allow anyone to borrow it. Sub-letting is not permitted. Equipment will be loaned on an availability basis. You may be put on a waiting list if equipment is unavailable. Equipment can be collected/returned at a time agreed by LRS. Organisations are responsible for the equipment up until it is returned to LRS in person. All bookings, collections and returns will be made during normal LRS working hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm). On return of the equipment, organisations must complete the evaluation form that is included in the equipment pack or by completing the form online. Page 4 of 5
