Yours in Sport Allan Maitland.
More Than A Football Club Welcome to the 2017 Youth Academy newsletter. In this edition we will update you on the following topics:- Coaching and Training Sports Medicine and Science Fundraising 1 st Team Home Games Individual Parents & Players Meetings Sponsorship Pitch Rules & Regulations Club Academy Scotland Regulations Development Reimbursments Community Trust Red Bus Please visit our club website and follow our social media networks for additional news, community projects and general information. Remember you can visit our online shop to purchase club merchandise as well as buy goods at the stadium.
Coaching and Training The Youth training schedule for season can be found on our Club website under the Youth Academy section. It is very important that your son arrives 15 minutes before his session is due to commence. He needs to make sure he is suitably dressed for the weather and that he brings his shin pads with him for every training session. When Academy players enter and leave the stadi- um; they will arrive via the main stairs at Reception and exit to training via the main stand en- trance. The tunnel is prohibited to ALL unless they are visiting the physiotherapist. Training kit or any other items MUST no longer be left in the dugouts and instead should be left in the chang- ing rooms around the corner of the stadium. For those accessing Sports Science, please note Sunnan Shah will now collect players from the changing rooms and escort them to the Gym area. Can we ask that when you bring your son to training, suitable arrangements have been made with him to be picked up safely when training is finished. Please refrain from interfering with the coaching session AT ALL TIMES. We welcome your support and understanding.
Sports Medicine and Science We have a team of Medical and Sports Science staff working with Hamilton Youth Academy is strongly supported by the Medical and Sports Science Department, led by Head Physiotherapist Megan Finlayson and U20 Sports Scientist Sunnan Shah. Physiotherapy Clinics are held on Monday and Thursday evenings at The Superseal Stadium from 6.30pm until 9pm. Clinics are run by our team of Chartered Physiotherapists who assess, diagnose and treat current injuries and work in co-operation with the Sports Science team to organise the safe and timely return-to-play for injured players. All Academy fixtures both home and away have a Chartered Physiotherapist in attendance for pitch-side first aid. Any injuries that occur during Academy fixtures at the weekend will be followed up at Clinic on a Monday evening. The Sports Science team run regular tests on the players strength, power, speed, agility and endurance. From the tests results, we gauge what level of development our players are at and provide them with suitable training to improve any potential weaknesses. As with medical care, it is important that parents are kept informed of their son s developmental progress so we encourage parents to speak to the Sports Science staff about any aspect of their child s physical development and ask any questions if required.
Fundraising We would like to remind you that we rely on donations/support to keep our elite Academy running to help support our financial remit, so please help or give suggestions to help. Thanks to Academy Mum, Lorraine Wilson for setting up Easy Fundraising; since December we raised over 250 to date for those using the code when shopping online. Please if you would like to help the Academy just by adding the code in your online shopping basket. This year again, our Youth Academy along with the children s charity Blameless have been chosen beneficiaries to receive profits from the spectacular Scot Ball, Crowne Plaza, Glasgow on Saturday 28th October and your support is welcome. 1 st Team Home Games We encourage Academy Players attendance at all home games and have secured tickets to allow our players and their families to support the Team. Please make sure that when the young Players attend for the 1st Team games they wear their travel suit and polo shirt. In addition our U 11 s have the opportunity on a rotational basis to be chosen as our ball boys, which is a great experience. Remember to purchase some 50/50 tickets at our games, profit is split between our Academy and the winner!!
Pitch Rules & Regulations Can I ask all coaches, parents and players to treat our pitch with the greatest respect. Our state of the art 3G pitch is used daily and we all need to make sure that all empty bottles and bottle tops are put into the bins after training. Everyone should also note that CHEWING GUM is NOT ALLOWED to be taken onto the pitch at ANYTIME. Please help us keep our pitch SAFE from HAZARDS. Club Academy Scotland Regulations Every parent of a player within our system will be supplied with a copy of the Club Academy Scotland Regulations, which covers everything relating to this season s youth football. Can all parents please provide Catriona McRoberts with an address so that your details can be stored for this and all relevant correspondence.
Individual Parents & Players Meetings Dates for the individual meetings for both parents and our players have still to be confirmed, you will be notified via our schedule when these will take place. Each player will be allotted 15 minutes and George Cairns will discuss the content of their progress report explaining their development within our Club. Sponsorship We are delighted to confirm that Sponsorship for this year again for all our Academy teams has been given from the ZL Group, Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill ML4 3NH, We are fortunate to have been awarded this and appreciate the financial support this deal brings to our Academy overall.
Importance of keeping our pitch safe for daily use Can I ask all coaches, parents and players to treat our pitch with the greatest respect. Our new state of the art 3G pitch is used daily and we all need to make sure that all empty bottles and bottle tops are put into the bins after training. Everyone should also note that CHEWING GUM is NOT ALLOWED to be taken onto the pitch at ANYTIME. Please help us keep our pitch SAFE from HAZARDS Development Reimbursements Every parent of a player within our system MUST read a copy of the SFA guidelines on Re-imbursement of training costs this can be found under the Academy section within the Club website. HAFC COMMUNITY TRUST BUS Our iconic Red Bus situated within the stadium serves as our community cafe and we urge you to support this at all times by purchasing items from the Bus which is open during Academy Training and home games. Cheap and affordable prices, and a great variety of hot and cold food/drinks, with ALL PROFITS channeled directly into our Youth Academy, so please consider this when visiting the grounds and refrain from bringing your own food and drink/snacks into the Stadium.
As the Head of Youth Development, I am delighted to welcome both your son and yourselves into our Youth Academy set-up at the Superseal Stadium and wish your son the very best of luck for the season ahead. Our Director of Youth Football, Allan Maitland will strive to attend every youth game and when possible will be joined by our First Team Manager, Martin Canning, Assistant Guillame Beuzelin and our Chairman and Vice-Chair, Les Gray and Ronnie MacDonald. We are fully committed to the Youth Development programme at the Superseal Stadium and being acknowledged as the number 1 Premierhip Club who plays the most home grown stars endorses this.
