2 CHILDREN S PARTIES Give your youngster a birthday to remember at UWE Bristol s Centre for Sport. Whether your child is footie mad or keen to tackle the dizzying heights of our indoor climbing wall, get them moving with a sports party they ll love. Our sport themed parties include: l Football l Cricket l Basketball or netball l Organised games l Climbing l Inflatable fun We look forward to welcoming you to a party soon!

3 Facilities and staff The Centre for Sport makes for an ideal venue for your child s birthday party with two spacious sports halls and a fantastic climbing wall. The viewing gallery provides a great space for parents to watch all the fun and is a separate area for food and post party celebrations. Our Ofsted approved parties are hosted by enthusiastic, energetic and DBS checked party hosts. Climbing parties are run by fully qualified and experienced climbing instructors and there is always a fully qualified first aider on-site to ensure the safety of you and your guests. Party organisation Party activities last one hour and will be hosted in either the sports hall or on the climbing wall. You can pre-order food for your party guests and celebrate in the viewing gallery or studio space, this time lasts for 45 minutes. The age range for parties is 4-16 years old, however the minimum age for a climbing party is 7 years old. Details on how to book a party can be found on page 5. In brief, you will need to contact us or complete the online booking form to secure a date. Once a date is confirmed a 25 deposit is required, followed by full payment at least two weeks before the date of the party.

4 Party themes Football parties Perfect for footie-mad children, our football parties include: A fun warm-up game Skill drills such as dribbling and shooting A match refereed by the host and a penalty shoot out to end Cricket parties Be bowled over with our cricket party package: Start with a fun cricket themed warm-up Complete a number of skill exercises, including batting techniques, fielding and bowling Finish with a fun and fast game of Kwik Cricket Basketball parties Score a slam dunk with our basketball parties: Begin with a fun warm-up Learn some new skills through a range of basketball activities which includes passing drills, shooting practice and dribbling Practice your new skills by playing a mini half-court game Then move onto a full court game, refereed by the party host We recommend a party group size of ten for basketball parties.

Our netball parties are energetic and lively, each package includes: A fun warm-up Skill drills, including passing and shooting practice Practice your new skills by playing a mini half-court game Then move onto a game, refereed by the party host We recommend a party group size of fourteen for netball parties. Organised games parties Fun for all, our organised games parties include: A sporty warm-up A variety of childhood games such as: dodge ball, crab football, captains deck, parachute games, wacky races, stuck in the mud and rounders Climbing wall parties Scale new heights with a fantastic climbing party at the Centre for Sport. Suitable for children aged 7-16 years old, a climbing party package includes: A one hour climbing session, taken by a fully qualified climbing instructor Full use of all equipment required, including harnesses and helmets Children taking part should wear non-restrictive clothing and enclosed shoes/trainers Inflatable parties As one of our most popular party themes, inflatable parties are perfect for children of all ages: Race across our inflatable assault course Organised games are arranged according to the age group of the party

7 Party prices Please use the table below to select your party and find out the total cost. Here is some important information to bear in mind: All parties last for 1 hour, an additional 45 minutes is given if you also select the food option Parties are available for 4 16 year olds, except climbing parties where the minimum age is 7 years old All food is served in the viewing gallery or studio. Please bring your own birthday cake and table decorations if you wish. No other food is allowed to be brought on to the premises. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when making your menu selection. 8 HOW TO BOOK Book online Simply go online and complete our online party booking form We will then contact you to confirm the booking and arrange payment of the deposit. If you would like more information, please contact the Centre for Sport on or If you wish to take photographs/video at your child s party, you will be required to complete an authorisation form for the use of photographic and/or recording equipment. You can complete this on the day or return prior to the date of the party.

9 Conditions of use of the Centre for Sport Children s Parties a) The Party Organiser (as per name given on the booking form) must be with the children s party at all times when in the Centre for Sport. b) Food and drink is only is only to be consumed in the designated area, viewing gallery or studio. c) Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times i.e. enclosed trainers or shoes with non-marking soles. d) Suitable clothing must be worn by participants i.e. tracksuit, shorts and t-shirt. e) Persons wearing muddy clothing or shoes will be asked to leave the Sports Hall/Climbing Wall. f) We recommend that long hair is tied back and jewellery and watches are removed. g) Persons behaving in a manner likely to disrupt the enjoyment of, or endanger other Centre for Sport users, may be asked to leave. h) The Centre for Sport reserves the right to refuse admission. Children must be aged between 4-16 years old to take part in the party activities. For climbing wall parties, the age limit is between 7-16 years old. i) The Centre for Sport reserves the right to amend or introduce any rules necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation and financial viability of the Centre. j) On arrival, the Party Organiser should check in at reception before the party commences. k) Valuables such as mobile phones and games consoles should not be brought onto site. The Centre for Sport will not be held responsible for any personal property. l) The Centre for Sport confirms full acceptance of the terms and conditions on the receipt of the application form and deposit. m) A 25 deposit will be required to secure the booking, full payment must be made in full at least two weeks in advance of the date of the party. n) If you wish to cancel, you are required to give 14 days notice before the date of the party booked to get a full refund. o) If you wish to change dates, 14 days notice is required before the date of the party booked to transfer the payment. We cannot guarantee that an alternative date will be available. p) With less than 14 days notice payments are non-refundable except for unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the Centre for Sport manager. q) You can amend the number of children attending the party or the food options selected seven days in advance of the date of the party. Please contact us with this information. No changes can be made within seven days of the date of the party. r) Access to the astro turf pitch is only permitted through the Centre for Sport building and is only allowed to be used for organised activities as directed by the Centre for Sport party host, it is not for general use. s) Users of the Centre are responsible for their own safety. Users should contact a member of staff for any assistance required. t) Please note that although your party activity is staffed, it is expected that parents stay for the duration of the party.
