2 Message from Dawie Theron (Head Coach) The IRB Junior World Championship is one of toughest rugby competitions you can imagine and will pose great physical and mental challenges for all teams. New Zealand is an immensely proud rugby nation and will no doubt host a great tournament. Everyone knows NZ is also the toughest place to go and play, especially against their national teams. And that is the daunting task that awaits the Junior Springboks. We are drawn in a tough pool and play Scotland, Samoa and tournament hosts NZ in Auckland. The format of the competition is such that you must be at your best in each and every match. There is no room for error at the JWC, it is as simple as that. I am very pleased with our preparations and feels that the change in our approach has certainly worked in our favour. The majority of the players have been together for a few weeks and that resulted in a lot of benefits for us as a group. The players know each other very well after training and playing together for a while in camp and the spirit amongst them is very good. We are looking forward to the huge challenge and will do our best to make every South African proud through our conduct and our level of play on the field. 2
