1 AMBROSE TREACY COLLEGE SPORT Semester One 2017 Whilst the year is drawing to a close, it is time to get organised for the first half of Please take a moment to read the following information, to help choose your options for sport for Semester One. Boys can play multiple sports at once as long as they can fit it in with family, academic and social life. Once a boy has made the commitment, the expectation is that he will follow through for the season. In most cases, the cost of boys participating in sport is covered by ATC school fees. Where boys play in club competitions, the costs can, in some cases, be significant. Part of club registration fees are covered by ATC school fees and the balance is passed on to parents (for example AFL). Fees for sports are added onto school fee accounts once the season has commenced and numbers have been finalised. The ATC Gym is open for all Middle School boys and is in full swing with over 100 boys making use of the many sessions that are on offer each week. The gym will also be open and supervised during most of the school holidays. The timetables are available on the ATC Sport Blog. The pre-season for Term 2 Sports will commence in the first week of March. For this reason, we ask that boys identify which sports they will be playing in Term 2 so we can begin planning. Further Information will be disseminated to parents once boys have signed on for each sport. This information will be available on the ATC Sport Blog and the Ambrose Treacy College App. Opportunities for Year 4 boys are slightly different to boys in other year levels at the College. This is because the Brisbane boys interschool sport structure commences in Year 5. At ATC, we see Year 4 as a great opportunity to trial a variety of sports, get to know classmates and staff through sport, learn about the ATC school sport philosophy and enjoy playing sport for the love of the game. Competitive sport opportunities for Year 4 boys in Semester One are: Cricket, School Swimming, AFL and Cross Country.
