In order to ensure equality, all Participating Teams shall be compared across the same number of Matches, the number of which shall be decided by the AFC In principle, the results between the identified Participating Teams and the bottom-placed Participating Team in the group shall be considered null and void. Step 1: Step 2: Identify the second-placed Participating Teams in each group. Rank the second-placed Participating Teams on the following basis: (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) greater number of points from the Matches identified by the AFC; goal difference resulting from the Matches identified by the AFC; greater number of goals scored in the Matches identified by the AFC; application of the Fair Play criteria in the Matches identified by the AFC (see Appendix 1); drawing of lots. AFC Beach Soccer Championship 2017 Competition Regulations 24

25 Example: Group A Team P W WE WP L GF GA GD Pts Team A Team B Team C Team D Group B Team P W WE WP L GF GA GD Pts Team E Team F Team G Team H Team I Team B and Team F are the second-placed Participating Teams Groups A and B have played a different number of matches. In order to identify the best second-placed Participating Team, the number of matches shall be equalised. The number of matches to be identified shall be equal to that contested in Group A (i.e. the group with the lower amount of matches per Participating Team). Accordingly, the number of matches played in Group B shall be reduced to three (3) matches per Participating Team. As such, the match between Team F and Team I will be considered null and void. Assume Team F won the match 3-0. We will have a new calculation for Team F: Team P W WE WP L GF GA GD Pts Team F After applying criteria (a), both Team B and Team F are equal, having accrued 4 points. Team B has a goal difference of +1 and Team F has a goal difference of -5, and after applying criteria (b), Team B is identified as the best second-placed Participating Team. Note: when deleting matches, the points or rankings of the other Participating Teams in group are irrelevant. Any new calculation is solely for the purpose of determining the best-placed Participating Team among the groups. AFC Beach Soccer Championship 2017 Competition Regulations 25
