3 COMMUNITY Fieldhouse Grand Island s Community Fieldhouse has been one of the hottest tickets in town since it opened in The 70,000 square foot facility includes batting cages, turf sports fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, meeting rooms, and a children s playground. This season the Fieldhouse is open from October 7, 2017 to April 29, There are countless leagues, tournaments and other events to keep an eye out for. To the right is information on general rates; cost for leagues and events is listed on the pages following. Fall, Winter, Spring...the cooler seasons? Not at the Community Fieldhouse! Don t miss out! After School Rates for Students We continue to offer an afternoon of fun for students at a great price. Students may play games on the turf, basketball court, or volleyball courts. NO organized programming or direct supervision of children will be provided. $1.00 off daily admission. Youth and students ages 5-18 only! Individuals need to arrive prior to 4:00pm to be eligible for discount. Drop-In Fridays - NEW THIS YEAR! Every Friday evening, there will be a basketball court and a turf field available for drop-in users - WE GUARANTEE IT! 4 YOUTH SPORTS BASKETBALL SKILLS CHALLENGE Saturday, October 14 - Deadline October 6 Do you want to put your basketball skills on the line? Come compete against other individuals in our annual basketball skills challenge. You will compete in a free throw contest, 3-point contest, a speed dribbling course, and a speed shooting course. Begins at 10:00am - awards for best finishers in each event! Online registration available. Grades 6, 7 & 8 $5/participant (includes daily admission) HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER LEAGUE Session One: October 28 - December 16 - Deadline October 13 Session Two: January 6 - February 25 - Deadline December 15 High School age players get the opportunity to play on Central Nebraska s largest indoor fi eld. Our state of the art turf fi eld without dasher boards brings the outdoor game inside! Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays. Register as a team. Boys and Girls Ages 3-10 Each Session - $55 FIELDHOUSE ARCHERY January Deadline December 22 After seeing the movie Hunger Games, do you have an interest in trying the sport of Archery? Come explore archery with the Fieldhouse staff. This class will teach you the basics of archery and help improve your shot through certifi ed instruction and fun games. The class will take place next door at the Game and Parks Archery Range in the State Fair building. Ages :30-7pm Tuesday/Thursday $55 Ages :15-8:45pm Tuesday/Thursday $55
5 DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT Saturday, January 13 - Deadline January 5 Get a team of 6-10 players and start practicing the 5 D s: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and...dodge. A game is played 6 vs 6 with roster cap at 10. Pool play will be followed by a single elimination tournament. One adult must be present for each team. Competition will begin at 10:00am, awards for winning team! Register As a Team Ages: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade $40/team YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE January 29 - March 23 - Deadline January 5 Time to get fl ag football experience in a fun, safe environment! Coaches will focus on the fundamentals of football and sportsmanship. Games are played on Mondays and Fridays. Reversible sports jerseys can be used for every Fieldhouse youth league. Ages 5-11 $65/participant INDOOR YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUE March 13 - April 26 - Deadline February 16 SELECT TEAM TUNE UP SOFTBALL LEAGUE March 3 - April 7 - Deadline February 9 Need to get your traveling softball team ready for summer action? What better way to sharpen skills than to play live games in our indoor facility? Games are 60 minutes long with 30 minutes of pregame time available for indoor team practice. (Batting cage time included.) Games will be played on Saturdays. Doubleheaders available upon request. 8U Teams (no umpires/no scores) 5-7 games $225/team 10U Teams (umpires/scores) 5-7 games $380/team Players develop skills and sportsmanship in a fun, safe way! Get a jump on the summer season with organized games and practices in an indoor facility. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. 6 ADULT SPORTS 2017 BYE WEEK BLOCK PARTY!!! Deadline for all Bye Week tournaments - October 13 3v3 MEN S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22 $30/team Reserve your spot! This will be a great warmup for our upcoming fall league. Games will be call-your-own foul and played on half court. Teams are guaranteed three games. Awards for championship team! Register as a team. LASER TAG TOURNAMENT SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 $125/team Reserve your spot for our inaugural LASER TAG TOURNAMENT! Hosted and coordinated by Midwest Adventure Sports, this event is sure to be the buzz of the weekend! The tournament will guarantee three matches to maximize the bang for your buck. The competition begins after lunch. Register as a team. PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 $20/team Reserve your spot for our inaugural PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT! The tournament will have two divisions (women s doubles and men s doubles). The competition begins in the morning, with awards for each championship team!
