This position will lead our Northern Saskatchewan team at the Red River Cup. The Red River Cup is a U16 tournament with teams taking part from Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The 2013 Red River Cup takes place July 6-13 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If you are interested in consideration for an Assistant Coach position with Team Northern Saskatchewan, please complete and submit the attached application form (do not require coaching philosophy). 4 HEAD COACH SELECTION CRITERIA Saskatoon Minor Football uses the following criteria to select the U16 Team Northern Saskatchewan Head Coach. Education / experience: Human Resources Professional Development Knowledge of Program Coaching experience Formal education and training Knowledge of the technical and tactical aspects of football Coaching Philosophy Document Proven ability to recognize and select quality players to form Team Northern Saskatchewan regardless of residence within the Province Proven ability to work in a team environment Adept communication and team building skills Proven ability to successfully relate to, motivate, control and work with players at this age level Positive role model for young athletes Level 2 or 3 NCCP certification Additional training / development courses First Aid and/or Sport Injury training Proven knowledge of Football Saskatchewan programs and services Ability to work towards the objectives of Saskatoon Minor Football s Red River Cup Program Proven appreciation for and awareness of the unique problems that may occur in the selection and operation of a Provincial Team Program Expectations: Ability to commit the time necessary to make Team Northern Saskatchewan successful Identify potential Team Northern Saskatchewan players Participate in the Saskatoon Minor Football U16 Football Academy Work with mentor coaches and/or advisors to improve coaching approaches specific to competition Submit to a criminal record check
