11 The Battlefield circuit Lochnagar Crater. A mine crater near the village of La Boisselle. 1 Mile from Albert. The crater is 90m across and 30m deep and was blown at 07:28 HRS on the 01 July st division AIF Memorial - Pozières. Commemorates the Australian operations around Pozières. The Australian Forces lost men in 6 weeks. Newfoundland Memorial Park. Beaumont Hamel 7 Miles from Albert. Preserved battlefield where the Newfoundland Regiment fought on the 01 July Of the 800 Newfoundlanders in action that day, only 68 survived unscathed. Memorial of the Missing Thiepval 6 Miles from Albert. This Memorial commemorates over British and South African soldiers missing in action between 1915 and The Ulster Tower. 6 Miles from Albert. Built in 1921 in memory of the men of the 36 th Division and other Ulstermen fallen during the First World War. 11
