1 FISH CREEK FOOTBALL & NETBALL CLUB Alberton football league Round 4 v I.K cost $1.00 Today we welcome I.K to our nicely manicured ground and court area and prepare for some fiercely strong matches as all teams in both foot and netball seem to be pretty close together on the ladder. Coming off a delicious high of beating rivals foster in everything but the under 15 netball, all teams must focus, play strong, work together and claim the four again! *Well done Ross and helpers for the fantastic workings of the score board! Pictured is Bailey Hams, he kicked a thumping long ball to register the first goal on the new scoreboard and played a great game against Killy-bass. Despite being turned inside out, Ossy Brennan- held on and was paid the mark - and the goal! Left, Sam Flanders about to down this kid like a calf At a camp draft- one of his many strong tackles against Foster last week. And Liam Howard too quick for his Foster opponent. Gotcha says Levi Cocksedge in this
2 brilliant run down tackle last week. PADDOCK TALK: A quick glance over the ladder board in this week diet paper (lo-cal) would show Fishy and IK are sitting pretty close together in all matches and grades so here s to some good tough games today, the four points and the top position. Coach Billy Clark addresses his red and white army. The former baker from Safeway last coached our club In 2004, the same year of his heart transplant. Since then he has played, coached and played a valuable roll at the Richmond football club. Aiden Wilson looks like someone from a footy card as he accelerates away from his killy bass big man. Greg Reggie Hoskin (14) has returned again to his home Town, and as always, has eyes firmly on the ball and task ahead. This year the P.E teacher brings with him his wife Mel playing B grade and perhaps a future player in their young son. Ash Snooks (6) almost a fair swap for our much loved second Park boy, moves a lot like him through the centre, and all over the field really. Ash moved from the Burra to play with his mate Chad Macri, (3 ) who joined us last year and works with last years coach Turk Seccull. DATES FOR THE CALENDAR: TONIGHT 7:30 sharp. Players auction. Study the groups, form a syndicate or just keep it all to yourself, which ever way you choose just be there May 31 Mid season ball Our sponsors day is today, lunch upstairs to thank all for their support.
3 AROUND THE COURTS: Very much easier than our first game, was our run against Killy/bass, all teams clearly out in front on the final buzzer. 6 from 6 well done ladies! Last weeks game, (partially under lights), was almost as good- or better, where all 3 senior teams showed the new look foster ladies just how they play! Only our under 15 team faltered at the last hurdle, and were unable to regain the grip they had at the start. Jasmine Mann e, the face of our senior coach this year And head of fitness! Yes this years trainings have yet to Be boring, AND pretty gruelling at times. We ve run up hills, we hiked the prom, done sprints and relays, squats and swimming, sit ups, push ups, jumping, leaping, catching, passing, weights and more. Never the same thing and always moving We can out run them, we have the stamina! well done Jaz, Nadia & Fi right - C grade coach Fiona Smith gained clean possession in front of the foster GK on Saturday again and again. After the win she said I am noticing the overall effort and determination from the whole team, great work and she s still smiling! A good tough match with plenty of pressure over The ball, firm direct passing and superb shooting was that of last week s C grade game. Krista Pulham got plenty of air and forced another foster mistake in this instance against bron Williams. Final score PREMIER SPONSOR: Home Timber and Hardware
4 This year, most teams have plenty of junior girls, (up and coming champions), so netball game times have been changed to accommodate an under 11 game. These flashy youngsters will start at 9 o clock most Saturdays and work well with encouragement from the side lines Only MDU, Toora and Bass are unable to field a side. Try outs for the association team s start this Sunday (and the next the Tarwin courts. Under 13s and 15s from 9 to 10:30, 17s from 10:30 to 11:30. Girls trying out should attend all three sessions. Belle Cocksedge with her outstretched arms and feet going quicker than the road runner, ran circles around her always taller opponent in last week s game. She popped out of cracks like a persistent mouse with a smile!
