2 In the summer of 2017, Gloucester Rugby commenced an intensive review of the brand and values. A full audit was completed of our current brand and assets, which included interviews with the Gloucester Rugby Board, employees and players. The Gloucester Rugby brand was seen as intrinsic in terms of the future success of the club and it was critical that we protect and look after its brand for future generations. Following many months of work, it was agreed that changes to the brand including the current Gloucester Rugby logo would be made. There are no changes to the Club name - we remain Gloucester Rugby. We are delighted to announce the launch of our new logo and brand assets from 15 May Over the summer of 2018 the new brand and logo will be gradually integrated across Gloucester Rugby communications and Kingsholm Stadium. Over the years over 120 internationals have played at this club. Hopefully in the future we ll have many more. I ve never known an atmosphere or a passion for rugby as I experienced that night. There are three of us now, there s my son Edward, who s been coming since he was 6, and he s now bringing my granddaughter Evie who is also 6. I m sure she ll become a fan for life as well. And when you underpin that with a set of loyal, passionate, vocal fans it makes this Club such a special place to be. Playing for Gloucester, when you used to run past the shed and do your half a lap, and as the noise went up and starts chanting Gloucester, Gloucester, you cannot replicate that feeling anywhere. And as a player you d start in that bottom left hand corner and as you got progressively further up the pitch, you just grow. And by the time you come round to meet up in your huddle you were ready to play. Gloucester Rugby really is an institution. What people don t always see is what goes on behind just the first team here. But is a brave new world and we have got to be ready for the challenge. I want the players to always know that they have worked extremely hard not just for themselves but also for their teammates and for the supporters. If you ve got an attitude of serving people then obviously you will always look to go that extra step for your teammate. The biggest challenge for any coach is to create an environment where players feel that they belong and can enjoy themselves. 4 What does the Gloucester Rugby logo represent? Gloucester Rugby is who we are. Shield represents the history of the City of Gloucester. Cherry & White hoops remain the core club s core colours. The Lion has been part of past Gloucester Rugby logos, stemming from the club s original use of the Gloucester City crest. The Lion remains and looks bravely towards our future represents the proud history and heritage of Gloucester Rugby. All areas of the club are unified in to one bold shape.
