The minute regarding sponsorship packages was carried forward. The minutes were proposed and seconded by those present. 3 Chairman's address NK and NL to investigate sponsorship packages The Chairman read a pre-prepared statement regarding the running of the club in the last year.

2 4 Statement of accounts The Treasurer presented pre-prepared accounts showing the position of the club as at 31st May It was noted that the club had incurred a deficit of 2, for the year. It was noted that the deficit was due to higher than average equipment costs and 2 purchases of presentation day trophies falling in the same financial year. At 31st May 2015 the club still had a surplus in the bank of 2, It was noted that fees had been increased to 40 per member in 2015/16 and a surplus was expected in the financial year ending 31st May The accounts were proposed and seconded by those present. 5 Status summary from Child Welfare Officer The Child Welfare Officer reported that there had been a couple of incidents during the year which had worked out well in the end. 3 8 Amendments to the constitution and rules of the club The Secretary advised that there was one change to the existing rules and constitution. Due to its importance to the club the Secretary asked that the position of Health Check Co-Ordinator be added in the rules as a committee position. The change was agreed by those present. NK to update rules 9 Confirm meeting dates for the coming year The meeting dates were confirmed for the coming season : 4th October th December st January th March st May rd July 2016 (AGM) 10 Any other business MG asked the U9s, U11s and U16s to provide information for the club booklet. MG noted those members that would need to attend first aid and safeguarding children courses during the season. MG asked NK to send a note to the Seniors reminding them that the goal locks must be secured tightly so that the Samba goals cannot be accessed by children. NK to send note to Seniors 10.4 PL noted that children were still getting on top of the football shed. It was agreed that signage would be put up on the shed and NK would send a communication round to managers to distribute to parents. NK to put up signage and send round LH noted that the U13s had a new coach, Richard Crane, who needed to be CRB checked. NL asked those present to promote the Foosball tournament being held on 26th July LH to organise CRB check NL discussed starting a dedicated girls football team. It was agreed that a message should go out to younger age groups nearer the beginning of the season. NK asked those present whether they had organised playing kit for the next season. The matter was discussed and any issues agreed. 4 Wheldrake JFC AGM July 5 th 2015 Chairman s Address As I sat down to write this year s chairman s address, I was determined to avoid rolling out the usual clichés of we re a small village club, we are punching above our weight, we might not win everything, but the kids have fun. However, the more I thought about it and wrestled with what to say instead, the more I realised there was no need to say anything different. When compared to some of the clubs that we face, with seemingly unlimited resources and an endless production line of young players that are continually scouted by professional clubs, we continue to give a good account of ourselves and our boys play in the right spirit with a smile on their faces. Our teams are a credit to the club and to their coaches. This year we have over 150 children registered with the club, which has enabled us to field teams at every age group from u7s through to u16 (with the exception of u15). Additionally Brian Parkinson continued to run Saturday football coaching sessions for u5 and u6 children, giving them a great welcome into the club and a fantastic introduction to team sport. At this point I would like to formally thank Donnacha Daly, Jonny Walton and Andy Boulton for stepping forward and volunteering to coach next seasons u7s welcome to the coaching team! Yet again we have fielded competitive teams in whichever league, cup competition or tournament that we have entered into and this is reflected in this year s roll of honour: U7s Ulleskelf Tournament Winners U9s Spring Cup Final Winners U11s Division 2 Champions U11s Ulleskelf Tournament Winners U11s North Duffield Plate Tournament Runners Up U16s Tockwith Tournament Winners We have additionally reached a number of semi and quarter finals at various tournament competitions.

5 The success and the reputation that we have as a club is thanks to a small army of people and I d like to offer the following thanks on behalf of the club: Firstly I would like to place on record, our appreciation of the parents of players. Not only do they deal with the logistical challenges of getting children to and from matches and training sessions (mostly) on time and in the right places, but more importantly, they provide positive encouragement to the players and coaching teams. I know that visiting teams like to play here at Wheldrake because of the warm welcome that they receive and the fair support that our parents give. I would also like to record my appreciation to all of the club sponsors. This season in particular we attracted a number of new sponsors, especially at younger age groups. There are far too many to list but their contribution is essential in helping the club to ensure that we have good quality playing kit and equipment. Thank you to all from the committee. I would also like to offer, on behalf of the committee, my appreciation to Helen Kruse and her band of helpers for providing the club with a great source of income through the tuck shop not to mention providing us coaches with warm drinks on cold February mornings. The tuck shop continues to be as successful as ever, and this is especially impressive given the less than ideal circumstances it has had to operate under since the closure of the village hall. Our relationship with the WRA and in particular with our sister organisations has remained on a stable footing despite some, at times, challenging circumstances. This is mainly thanks to David Murtagh who has continued to represent the club positively within the WRA. Due the current situation with the village hall, the WRA faces some challenging times over the coming months. As the largest member organisation of the WRA, moving forwards I would like to see the club take a more active role in supporting the association David has laid some great foundations that will enable us to do this. Whilst mentioning the WRA, I d like to place on record our thanks for the fantastic quality of our pitches over the last season. As we know, some of the pitches are heavily used, however they

6 remained in fabulous condition all year, and drew admiring comments from many visiting team managers. On the subject of playing surfaces, my thanks also go to Thorganby and Naburn Parish Councils for allowing us to use their facilities. Also, thanks go to Wheldrake School for allowing our u5/u6 group to use the playing field. Without access to these, the club would struggle to provide opportunities for so many children to enjoy sport the additional space they provide is invaluable. Only last week, we held our annual presentation day, which was once again a fantastic success. Moving the venue to Thorganby presented some interesting challenges, but a fantastic team effort overcame these. Thank you to all involved, in particular our Social Secretary, Stella Loughlan for leading the event. This last year also saw us hold a new event on our social calendar the Foosball Tournament. This was a fabulous, fun event that will become a new annual fixture again, thank you to Stella for making this happen. During the season, I was saddened to hear that our u13 coach David Race passed away following illness. David was a great ambassador for the club. To recognise the contribution that he made to WJFC, the Foosball Tournament will now also include the David Race Plate Competition. One of the paramount concerns for a junior football club is the safety and welfare of the children. We are very lucky to have an active Child Welfare Officer who is well known and respected within the village and who deals with any welfare questions in a calm and pragmatic way. Thanks Lizzie Hancock for your support over the last 12 months. On behalf of all of us, I d like to thank two people who put more time and energy into the club than anyone could reasonably expect Mike Gelder and Nathan Kruse. In his role as treasurer, Mike not only keeps a secure hand on the financial tiller, but also has ensured that any investment decisions the club has made have been planned and transparent. Additionally, Mike has once again this season ensured that our Charter Standard renewal was completed smoothly and on time.

7 The pivotal role in any junior football club is that of club secretary. Nathan has been excellent once again this year at keeping all of our paperwork in order. Always happy to volunteer be it documenting meeting minutes or tidying up the shed, I know how much of his time is given over to being club secretary. The club owes him a special thank you. Finally, the club would like to recognise the contribution to the club made by Patrick Dunne. Patrick hangs up his boots and steps down from the committee this year, having been a team manager for many seasons and having held positions on the committee ranging from Procurement Officer through to Chairman. Thank you for your dedication over the years. I m sure Mike can t wait to regularly have you on the touchline as an u14s parent.
