Welcome to the 2016 Marine Federal Credit Union Football Jamboree. We are excited to have your team part of this year s event and are even happier that you trusted the event to give you what your team needs to prepare for the upcoming season. There are changes not only with the teams involved this year, but also with the location of the event (Northside High School and Jacksonville Commons Middle School), facilities, date, etc. Please keep this in mind as you read through the packet and continue to give us feedback on the event as move forward. There are also a couple of surprises in store and hopefully your teams and parents will be excited! In this packet you will find almost everything you need to know about the event and leading up to the event. If you have any questions as we continue the countdown to kick-off, do not hesitate to contact our office either by phone or . We want to make this a first-class event for your student-athletes, coaches and fans. Our staff and Board of Directors hope that you are as excited as we are and look forward to seeing you hit the field on Saturday, August 13 th! Sincerely, Ashleigh Bachert Executive Director Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission Contact Information Ashleigh Bachert Office: x 248 Cell: asheigh@josc-nc.com 3

Scrimmage Information Snaps Each team will receive 30 offensive and 30 defensive snaps per scrimmage. To allow your coaches the opportunity to meet with their position players, the snaps will be broken up into groupings of 10. The following setup is based on the visiting team s schedule of being on offense first. 10 offensive 10 defensive 10 offensive 10 defensive 10 offensive 10 defensive At the conclusion of the first scrimmage, the visiting teams will switch fields and the second scrimmage will follow the same format. The visiting teams will be on offense first for both sets of scrimmages. Jersey Colors For the JV games, Jacksonville, Richlands, Northside, and East Duplin will be the visitor teams and will wear away jerseys. Swansboro, Southwest, Dixon and White Oak will be the home teams and will need to dress in home jerseys. For the varsity games, the Onslow County High Schools will be the home teams and will wear home jerseys. The out of county high school teams will be the away teams and will wear away jerseys. Warm-ups The JV teams will be able to warm-up on the game fields, as well as, the grassy area behind the Jacksonville Commons Middle School Field. Varsity Teams will need to warm-up on the grassy area behind the Jacksonville Commons Middle School field and Northside High School field. Field Goal Competition Each Varsity team will have the opportunity for one kicker to compete in the Field Goal Competition. The competition will take place on the Northside High School field. All kickers will start at the 20 yard line. Each made kick will move them back 5 yards until only one kicker is left. Once a kicker misses (unless down to the final 2 participants), he/she is eliminated from the competition. Each kicker is allowed to have a holder. In the case of a tie at a certain distance, kickers will stay at the made distance but will move to the side hash marks instead of center until someone misses. All kickers will need to be in full pads to simulate game day conditions and keep the competition fair. 5

Facility Information Facility Included in this packet is a map that will outline fields, warm-up areas, bus parking, medical, water, etc. Each team will have an ambassador to meet them at the time of arrival at the facility for the event so you can easily navigate the area once you arrive. Please note that locker rooms will not be available to any team, so please come prepared for the event. Water There will be multiple areas for teams to fill up their water coolers. Ice will not be available to any teams for their water coolers. Your team ambassador will help members locate the water point closest to your field of play. Medical We encourage each team to bring an ATC to cover any injuries or medical needs your team may have during the event. However, the event will have a Sports Medicine Physician on-site. The medical tent will have ice available for injuries only. In the case of an ambulance being called, all emergencies will be directed to Onslow Memorial Hospital. Bus Parking All buses will be directed to part by the Northside High School football field. Volunteers will be on hand to direct drivers. Please refer to the map as well. Field Passes Each team will be issued field passes for their coaches, managers, etc. This helps us keep fans away from the teams and controls access to certain areas of the event. We ask that all injured players that attend the event still wear a jersey so we can allow them access to the field. Each team will need to request the number of passes needed for their teams on the information form provided. Again, these are for coaches and other support staff (managers, medical, etc.). These passes are not for booster club presidents or members, family members, principals, athletic directors or other coaches. The field pass will also allow your coaches to have access to the Media/Coaches/Sponsors VIP Tent for food and drinks. Because this is a VIP event, no kids (high school age and under) are allowed in this area. Free Tickets to the Event When you request your field passes, you will also be issued the same number of wristbands for the event. The wristband is a ticket to the event. We give these to you for coaches spouses or family members, but use them how you best see fit for the event. 6

Fan Information Tickets Tickets are $5 each. Kids 5 and under are free to the event. Tickets will be on sale ONLY at the event. Tickets can be purchased with cash or by credit card. Tickets will give them access to all scrimmages. Please let the coaches at your school know that we will not be accepting coaches passes for the event for free admission. Programs Programs for the event will be available for purchase at $2 a piece. Parking Parking will be available onsite in multiple locations. Please ask fans to visit the FootballJamboree.com website for maps on available parking, or follow signage and volunteer directions once on Commons Drive. Concessions There will be multiple vendors on site to supply fans with options for eating at the event. Most vendors will only accept cash, but some will accept credit card. An updated list of vendors will be listed on the FootballJamboree.com website closer to the event. ATM An ATM will be supplied by Marine Federal Credit Union for the event. It will be located in the Marine Chevy Tailgate Village. Additional Information Media Day All head coaches are required to attend the media day, which is set for Tuesday, August 9 th at Noon. Location for the event is yet to be determined. Lunch will be provided prior to the start, but this is the media s opportunity to ask questions about your teams, prepping for the event, etc. If you would like to bring additional staff to the event, please let us know so we can get an accurate count for lunch. We will also be taking pictures of all the helmets for the program, so please bring one with you so we can obtain those images. Post Event Grants While we are not allowed to call this a fundraiser, the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission will be sending out grants to the 16 schools that are participating in the event after the conclusion of the event. The amount will be determined by the amount of sponsorships brought in, program sales and ticket sales. We do need to know who you want your check to be made out to and that question is included on the form in this book. We ask this because some schools make it out to their booster clubs while others have the checks written directly to the school. 7

Sponsorships We are continuing to work on obtaining sponsors for the event. We have included the sponsorship brochure in case you have anyone ask about program ads or being a part of the event. Additional Fundraising Opportunity We have been in contact with Buffalo Wild Wings and would like to get feedback from the coaches on an additional fundraising opportunity. Buffalo Wild Wings is willing to sponsor a Wing Eating Contest with the coach that eats the most wings, winning a certain dollar amount for his team. While only one team can win, it has been suggested that your booster clubs use this as an opportunity to raise additional dollars by turning it into a wing-a-thon. Businesses, parents, friends, family members, etc. pledge to pay a certain amount for each wing the coach eats. It ll be up to the individual schools to collect the money, but this would be a great way to generate some additional revenue while potentially winning a big check as well. Please let us know what you all think of this idea and if you are interested. Again, we have been in touch with Buffalo Wild Wings about this idea and they are on board, just waiting to hear how much the check will be worth for the winning school! Team Information Needs Programs We want to make sure that the program that fans will be purchasing highlights all of the participating teams. We need a digital version of your logo, a list of your coaching staff and any current players that were named All-Area or higher so we can highlight them on your team page. We will also need your 2016 schedule to include. This information is due to us by August 1 st so we can format the program and send it to the printers. Marketing Assistance We would like to be creative in this year s marketing and get the teams participating more involved in the process. We would like each school to select up to 3 players they would like to have highlighted in social media. We will be on site to film quick videos with them, get pictures, etc. during summer practices or the final part of spring practices. We would like the selected players to be those that are not only great players, but that have a strong social media presence. We will need to get their approval to post videos, pics, etc. and tag them via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please be thinking about this and provide the information on the school information form. If you have questions on this, please give us a call! School Information Form In this packet is an info form and checklist that we need each school to fill out and return to us by June 1,
