1 State Visual Arts 2015 marked the first year for a SDHSAA sponsored State Visual Arts Contest. The Visual Arts Contest had eleven categories,, Colored, Painting Oil and Acrylic, Painting Watercolor, Photography, Print Making, Three Dimensional, Crafts,, Multi Media / Graphic Design, and. This years contest was held in conjunction with the Boys Class AA Basketball at the Sanford Premier Center. The inaugural year boasted 33 schools with over 240 pieces of artwork displayed during the three day gallery presentation. Schools that participated in the Visual Arts Contest were divided into three classes AA (450+) A ( ) and B ( and below). Individual awards were given to the top three entries in each class and in each category. Team awards were given to the top two schools in each class, as determined by team sweepstakes points. A best in show award was given to the top artwork in each class, and a people s choice awards was given to the artwork with the most public votes.
