Learn about their bizarre behavior, anatomy, appearance, and more. Through cutting-edge technology, you will get a glimpse into some of the most unusual life stories of frogs. Meet at the GSP Education Building for this program. Invasion of the Giant Python: Florida s Everglades National Park is one of the last great wildlife refuges in the U.S. But the park has become a dumping ground for tens of thousands of Burmese pythons. Pythons have moved into their new home with a vengeance, thriving in the protected wilderness and disrupting its delicate ecosystem. Follow scientists and snake hunters as they study the problem and try to find solutions to the growing crisis. Meet at the GSP Education Building for this program. As one of the most important natural agents of change, fire plays a vital role in maintaining certain ecosystems. Prescribed fire reintroduces the beneficial effects of fire into an ecosystem, producing the kinds of vegetation and landscapes we want, and reducing the hazard of catastrophic wildfire caused by excessive fuel buildup. Meet our Naturalist in the Education Building to learn the details of why and how prescribed burning is utilized in Gulf State Park.
