All the bunks created amazing under the sea worlds. There was a Sea Shell Jewelry Shop, a Jelly Fish Cafe, an Ocean Carnival, an Octopus Photo Booth and more. All the campers went from room to room discovering the adventures inside. Campers created their own crowns, jewelry, picture frames, made and then ate edible sea creatures, and so much more. Some campers went fishing for fish and loved tossing a bean bag into an octopus mouth, while others decorated crowns and played an amazing alphabet game. We couldn't believe how incredibly artistic all of our counselors were and we loved the whole morning exploring our ocean floor. What the campers also loved about our Build-Off morning was that everyone got to come to camp dressed up in their favorite costumes! We had princesses, dinosaurs, construction workers, fire fighters, and many more characters. The campers loved showing each other their fun costumes and were so excited to spend the day having so much fun! Read Around Camp for more details. 2 2 Morah Nomi s Corner Snack surprise was so much fun. We really made an ocean adventure. We got big cups and crushed up some wafers to make the ocean floor, then we added some ocean water that looked so real the kids couldn't believe it! It was really blue jello. Then we added some jelly fish and a little white fluff on top to look like a wave breaking. Our ocean looked so real all the campers wanted to go swimming! So, we made a bracha and dove right in!l An under the sea week couldn't be complete without a huge treasure hunt all around the camp. The campers received their treasure maps and their first clue and off they went. Inside, outside, all around the camp, from the front, to the back, to all the bunks in between looking for the treasure box! Did they find it?? After carefully following each clue and really searching each picture on the wall, each tree on our grounds, all around the fence, and under and over our play equipment, all the bunks were finally successful in finding the treasure box! They had so much fun!! Each camper walked away with a special treasure and was so happy with their find! This week was all about water!! We started the week by talking about one of the special water brachot. Aside from the 'Shehakol' bracha that we make before we drink water, we discussed the bracha of 'Al Netilat Yadayim' (the washing Bracha) We had so much fun having our hands painted and pressing down to see our amazing handprints! We hope you will hang the sign on any magnetic surface to remind you of the bracha after you wash! We read a special book about the rainbow fish and the sea monster cave. We learned that at times things may look scary, but when we look a little bit closer, they are not what they appear to be and they are actually not scary at all. The rainbow fish was willing to do a mitzvah for his sick friend even though there was a potential for danger. In the end of the book he realized there was nothing to fear at all and was able to help his friend and also face his fears. We made snow globes out of water bottles, food coloring, glitter, and mini submarines. The children decorated them with nautical stickers. We had so much fun shaking them and watching all of the fake snow shake around! Finally, we played with bubbles of course, as they're made out of water primarily. The children had fun running around outside in the playground with our jumbo bubble wands making bubbles.

3 3 Around Camp Under The Sea week was so much fun for our little Sundrops (2s). Most of our bunk activities were about fish and sea creatures in the water. The Sundrops loved the camp Build-Off! They made bracelets with different colored beads and got to do fun things with food such as using marshmallows and sour sticks to make little fishes which was our favorite activity, especially when got to eat them! We also had our pictures taken in the photo booth, and played with the fish where we had to find all the fish in the tank. Our bunk did an under-the-sea carnival. All of the campers tried their hand at our carnival games and were so happy to win prizes. Our bunk did a really fun project with Morah Nomi this week we made snow globe aquariums using colored water, a submarine, and glitter. The campers loved shaking them. We are so proud of how much our little Sundrops have grown-up over the summer! A special welcome to our new friend Yehudis Bane. This week has been a busy, yet fun filled week in the Sunbirds! (3s) On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Sunbirds were hard at work preparing for the Under The Sea Build-Off. They dilly dotted their under the sea mobiles. Each camper got four different types of underwater animals and once they were all colored in, the morahs hung them on hangers, and now they are dangling down from the top of the classroom. Our bunk hosted the Under The Sea Photo Booth. Not only did we prepare for the Build-Off, but on Thursday we made "underwater animals in a bag." First, we learned how to make slime using four simple ingredients. After we mixed and mixed, the slime was ready! Each camper got some slime and placed it into a bag. Then everyone got a few sea animals and put it into their ocean. After all their hard work, we sealed the bag and the oceans were ready! Despite all the fun we have been having, it is sad to say goodbye to Nate and Aaron B. who will be leaving this week. We had so much fun with you and we hope you have an amazing rest of the summer. We'll miss you! The Sunflowers (4s) had an amazing week 6! This week s theme is Under The Sea so we learned about the ocean. 4 4 that live in our oceans and of course spoke about the films Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. Since this week was the Build -Off, all our art projects were decorations for our theme. We colored sea turtles, sea houses, fish, and much more. Our bunk hosted a pirate spelling game. The children had so much fun at the Build-Off. They made necklaces, crowns, played fishing games and many more actives. The Sundaes (4s) made our very own socktopus (octopus). We loved ripping paper and stuffing our socks. We also made rainbow fish out of paper plates. It was fun painting our plates with a bunch of differ- ent colors to make it look like a rainbow. We were the first bunk to go on a treasure hunt. It was so exciting to walk down the halls and in everyone's class room and even the office to find our treasure. At the end we got to pick our own treasure from the treasure box. We really enjoyed the Build-Off. We loved visiting everyone's class room and doing projects, playing games, and eat- ing yummy snacks. Our bunk was the Sea Shell Jewelry Store. The Sunshines had such an amazing week: A treasure hunt and the Under The Sea Build-Off in the same week! Awesome! We went all over the camp inside, outside, upside down, and right side in looking for the clues for the treasure chest. The Sunshines were hunting the camp grounds following the clues like detectives. We found clues in some funny places like under the bridge in the playground, and inside the tire filled with flowers in the front yard. In the end we found the treasure and all the Sunshine's got to pick their own treasure from the chest. We had so much fun getting ready for the buildoff. Everyone had a special job. Some friends measured crepe paper and cut it off in long strips to make coral reefs and seaweed while others made Octopuses out of toilet paper rolls that were decorated with paint, crayons, and googly eyes. Everyone made beautifully decorated tropical fish that we strung along the seaweed, and reefs. When the other campers entered our bunk they truly felt they were under the sea. Each bunk decorated their rooms and made great activities for everyone to enjoy. There were carnival games, a disco dance-off, a photo booth, and jewelry making. Our bunk turned into the Jelly Fish Café. We went from room to room playing games, and making bracelets and crowns. We also got to make fishing rods with worms, seaweed out of fruit rollups, and a beau-

5 5 tiful beach scene out of graham crackers, blue icing for the sea, and fish sprinkles. We had a yummy end to a fantastic under the sea day! We were so creative this week with our special theme. We went scuba diving. We all took pictures under the sea, scuba diving. We painted in various shades of blues, and greens to mimic the ocean, and used a photograph of ourselves with a scuba mask on. There are plenty of fish skeletons to be found under the sea, so we made our very own. We took our scissors and carefully measured out ribbons. Chop, chop, chop we went. We cut 10 small strips of ribbons and attached them to a piece of yarn to make our own fish skeletons. Of course, if you can t dive under the sea, you can always go to an aquarium to visit the fish. Using a paper plate that we painted in shades of the sea, we attached various tropical fish that we had made. After discussing the different fish that live in Hashem's oceans, the yeladim choose a Blow Fish to add to the other assorted fish in their aquariums. The last item was a piece of seaweed to finish these beautiful Under The Sea Aquariums. Week 6 is over... how?! This was another fun and silly week for the Sunbursts. We laughed until our bellies hurt while playing with mixed up names. We had a treasure hunt with awesome prizes. Some of the Sunbursts knew the building well and were experts at all the clues. We each had a turn to be the clue leader which gave everyone an opportunity to shine! The girls came up with Build-Off ideas and projects and helped decorate the room all week. We hung streamers all over and beautiful and unique sequined rainbow fish...from the ceiling!! The girls decided that in our bunk the campers would make mermaid crowns. We enjoyed going from bunk to bunk to do all different crazy activities, but the best part was coming back to our classroom and making silly fish crowns. We practiced our fishy faces and had fun taking pictures in them. We also liked showing the other campers some real creatures in our bunk that live in the water the frogs. We are sad to say bye to Mikayla and Rebecca Rose but we can't wait for week 7!! שבת שלום
