The first course o the property, datig back to 1899, origial cosisted of 66 acres of ope farmlad that proved to be ideal for a short, but tricky ie-hole course. I 1901, Ruaway Brook Golf Corporatio was fouded ad purchased the lad for $1, thus establishig the formal begiig of The Iteratioal. I 1954, Geoffrey Corish, a oted course architect, alog with Fraces Ouimet, wier of the U.S. Ope, desiged the regulatio course that exists today. ITT purchased the course i 1961 ad six years later reamed the course The Iteratioal Golf Club. I 1972, Robert Tret Joes was hired to ehace the desig, makig it ot oly the logest course i the world, but oe of the most spectacular as well. ITT ra The Iteratioal as a corporate retreat ad private club for early 40 years, hostig compay members, executives, ad guests at the club from all over the world. It was durig their owership that the Lodge was built. I 1999, our family etered the picture whe my parets, Daiel ad Florece Weadock, purchased The Iteratioal. 15 GENERATIONAL FAMILY MEMBERSHIP Geeratioal membership is a very excitig ew alterative for our Premier members ad their families. The Geeratioal Family Membership exteds the privileges to a Premier member s parets, childre, childre s spouses ad gradchildre. Each family add-o will pay oly 50% of the ormal dues for the membership category they select. Membership privileges are exteded to each of their immediate families as well, ad each family add-o member will have their ow persoal membership accout umber. If the Premier member resigs or dowgrades to a differet class of membership, the geeratioal family members must pay the prevailig iitiatio fee ad full dues, or resig alog with the member. Also, while each geeratioal member will have their ow club accout, the sposorig Premier member will be resposible for their accout should it fall behid i either club charges or mothly dues paymets.
