1 MGC eshooter December 15, 2011 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year The Board of Directors, Mark, Erin and family would like to wish all of our members and guests the very best this Holiday Season. Also, we would like to thank you for your support and patronage this past year. We had great league participation this summer and the registered shoots were well attended, weather permitting. We are very fortunate to have such a nice Club to be able to spend time at with our friends and family. The Club will again be hosting our Holiday party on January 1st. The Club will be providing the main entrée, bone-in ham or roast beef. Everybody is encouraged to bring a dish to pass and if this year is like years past there will be an outstanding array of great appetizers, soups, hors d oeuvres and desserts. Really, really good deserts. The party will start at 10:00 AM and go until 4:00 PM. Mark will have some shooting games on the schedule and we ll hand out some door prizes. If you can, plan on attending and be sure to bring your appetite, you won t go away hungry. Also at the Holiday party we will be honoring the recipient of the 2011 MGC Puller Scholarship Award, Patrick Rose. 2 Holiday Hours During the Holidays we will be open during our regular Winter hours EXCEPT for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Saturday & Sunday, December 24th & 25th. We will be closed those days. We will be open New Years Eve day December 31st and New Year s Day January 1 st. We will be holding a Jackpot Trapshoot December 31 st and a MGC Club Championship on Sunday January 1 st. so come on out and start the New Year by making some noise. Membership Renewal Its membership renewal time once again at MGC. The renewal forms went out in the mail last week. If you didn t receive one, we have included the form in this newsletter. The dues payment deadline is and you can send payment in, or call the Club and we can do the transaction over the phone. Christmas Gifts Stumped to get that someone special in your life something for Christmas??? We re here to help you out. We can set you up with a gift card for any amount that can be used for rounds, components, shells or items in the pro-shop which include hats, mock turtleneck shirts, long sleeve T shirts, gun cases, shell bags and stocking hats. A MGC membership is a great gift they will remember all year long. A really unique gift, a couple shares of MGC stock. Again, just a phone call will get your shopping done. 3 The MGC Pullers Scholarship Fund Every year our trap employees are eligible for a $ award to further their education. This fund is totally dependent on contributions from our membership. This year, to boost the fund, we are raffling off a very nice Shamrock Leather shooting bag and some other very nice prizes. It is on display now and we will have the drawing at the Holiday Party. You don t need to be present to win and can call to purchase tickets. We have been very fortunate to have some outstanding young people work at our club over the years and any donations for this fund stays earmarked for the fund. With your help we can continue this for many years to come. MGC STOCK FOR SALE MGC STOCK is for sale for $ per share. When you buy stock in the club you are showing your support and helping the club make Capital Improvements. All the monies collected are earmarked to make the major improvements that the club needs over time. This summer we will be replacing the septic system and putting a roof on the manager s house. This support also helps us to keep the cost of running the club low so we can hold our prices down. Please consider purchasing stock in the Club. Component Sale Yes, we will be having our annual component sale again this year. 4 Vintage Gun Shoot MGC will be holding a Vintage Gun Shoot next August. We re working on the particulars and will post the rules on the website and in an upcoming newsletter. Guns for Sale at MGC A member of MGC, Roger Wickner, has been in the hospital for some time. Shirley, his wife, has contacted MGC and asked that we help sell some of his gun collection. She has graciously agreed to donate 40% of the proceeds collected toward concrete work and repairs at the Club. Dave Seidel and Mark have donated their time and effort in order to maximize the effectiveness of the sale. Stop out or call Mark to see what s available. As most of you know we are characteristically not as busy in the winter as we are during the summer/fall months and could use your help with payment of your dues by January 15, Please note that if we have not received payment by February 1, 2012 the dues will increase by $ We will be having a Club Holiday party on January 1st starting at 10:00 A.M.
