Speaking of Hickory Knob, I want to thank Danny Boyles for another successful out-of-town tournament.

Our next out-of-town will be our Member / Guest trip to Myrtle Beach. Claude Rhen has the reins on this event and is pulling together an outstanding trip.

Let s remember to stay hydrated as we pursue our passion for golf. June has been another good month for our organization. We have had over 500 rounds played in our in-town tournaments and over 100 rounds in our out-of-town tournament at Hickory Knob. Speaking of Hickory Knob, I want to thank Danny Boyles for another successful out-of-town tournament. Dave Mueller, Jim Carroll and Harvey Hancock lined us up with a great new course for our in-town play. That was Hampton Village. I hope you were able to enjoy both those opportunities. Our next out-of-town will be our Member / Guest trip to Myrtle Beach. Claude Rhen has the reins on this event and is pulling together an outstanding trip. Danny Boyles and I are in the background and helping. The Myrtle Beach National Golf Course is awaiting our arrival. We have arranged an event for the ladies on Monday of our outing and you can find out everything about it on our web site. So, get in touch with your guests and get your reservation in and plan on a great time. We have a board meeting on August 10 at C C of Gwinnett. Send your agenda items to Ted Pogue prior to the meeting. I look forward to seeing you on the courses. Joe

We had a great time at Hickory Knob last month! We missed those of you who did not attend. The golf course was in great shape; the weather was good; wonderful food and service. It was a small crowd but the fun was big and we managed to float the keg by Wednesday Joe and Claude are still hard at work getting everything ready for the Member/Guest trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. So dust off those shagging shoes and let s all get ready for the Grand Stand trip. Another reminder about the elections for new officers for SGAA for We need good people to step up and fill the offices. SGAA is a great organization, and only you can keep it great. Please consider running for an office this year if possible, or encourage someone you would like to elect. What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and three putts the 18 th green?
