1 GOLF RULES I. REGISTRATION 1. All persons must register at the Golf Pro Shop before beginning play. 2. Players who fail to cancel their tee time two (2) hours prior to their scheduled tee time may be charged a fee equal to an accompanied guest fee. 3. Golf Clubs should not be brought inside the Clubhouse. Please let our cart attendants assist you or use the bag rack by the rear patio. II. STARTING TIMES 1. In order to provide the utmost playing pleasure for all Members, the Club reserves the right, from time to time, to establish rules governing access and starting times with respect to the golf course. 2. All players must have a starting time prior to registration, and all names are required for a starting time request. 3. The Pro Shop will assign the starting time depending on availability. 4. Reservation Policy for tee times is: Full Privilege Golf Members may make tee times ten (10) days in advance. Sports Social members may make tee times seven (7) days in advance. 5. The Golf Staff must be notified as soon as possible of any cancellation 6. A Member must accompany each group assigned a starting time during designated Members hours, except when approved by Management. 7. Each membership may be used to acquire only two starting times on the golf course per day unless other arrangements have been made with the Pro Shop. 8. Twosomes and singles will be grouped with other players, if available, and starting time determined by the Pro Shop, if necessary. Singles may not reserve starting times. 9. Twosomes may play at the discretion of the Pro Shop and will be permitted to play if space is available. Twosomes should not expect to play through foursomes or threesomes and should not exert any pressure on the groups ahead.

2 10. Fivesomes may be allowed at the golf course at the Golf Professionals discretion Monday Friday and are not allowed on weekends. III. ATTIRE 1. Appropriate golf attire is required for all players. * Men: Shirts with collars and sleeves must be worn at all times. Slacks or Bermuda shorts are considered appropriate attire. Shorts should not be higher than 6 inches above the knee. Mock collars must be at least 1 and ½ inches in width. Tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cutoffs, sweat pants, warm-ups, blue jeans, bathing suits, tennis shorts, short shorts, or other athletic shorts are not permitted. Shirts should be tucked in and caps should be worn with the bill facing forward. Denim is not permitted. * Women: Dresses, skirts, slacks, mid-length shorts and blouses are considered appropriate attire. Halter tops, fishnet tops, bathing suits, sweat pants, warmup suits, blue jeans, tennis dresses, athletic shorts, cutoffs, or short shorts are not permitted. Shorts should not be higher than 6 inches above the knee and sleeveless shirts must have collars. * Shoes: Acceptable shoes must be worn at all times Golf shoes are required on the golf course. Tennis and other soft shoes are subject to approval by the Golf Professional. 2. This dress code is mandatory for all players regardless of their age and is also in effect for all practice facilities. If there is any doubt concerning attire, please check with the Pro Shop. 3. Members are responsible for their guests appropriate attire. In order to avoid embarrassment, Members should inform their guest of the Club dress code in advance. IV. PLAY 1. U.S. Golf Association (USGA) Rules shall govern play at all times, except as modified by local rules. 2. Golf rangers may be on duty to help regulate play and enforce golf cart regulations. The golf rangers have full authority on the golf course to enforce all rules and regulate speed of play. 3. Each player must have his or her own set of golf clubs. 4. If a group fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than one (1) clear hole on the players ahead, it must allow the following group to play through. 5. Players who stop after any hole, for any reason, may not delay the following foursome and are expected to give way in order to maintain continuity of play.

3 6. Cutting in is not permitted at any time. Play must only be commenced at the first hole. Players are permitted to start play from their residence only with permission from the Golf Professional. 7. Practice is not allowed on the golf course. Members and Guests may only play one ball. The practice range, the practice putting green, and the chipping green should be used for practice. 8. The Club is not responsible for errant shots. 9. Cart Path Only signs are to be adhered to without exception. 10. All tournament play must be approved in advanced by the Pro Shop. 11. If lightning is in the immediate area, all play must cease. 12. All golf balls hit into lakes, which are not retrieved by the players, shall be deemed abandoned and shall become the sole property of the Club. V. HANDICAPS 1. Handicaps are computed under supervision of the Golf Professional in accordance with current USGA recommendations. Fees for handicap services shall be established by the Club Manager. VI. DRIVING RANGE 1. The driving range is open during normal operating hours as may be posted from time to time. The driving range may be closed for general maintenance as determined by management. 2. Range balls are for use on the driving range only. Range balls are not permitted to be used on the golf course and may not leave club property. 3. Balls must be hit from designated areas only. No hitting is permitted from the rough or sides of the driving range. 4. Golf carts are not permitted on the driving range tee area. Parking of golf carts is allowed in designated areas only. 5. Proper attire is required at all times on the driving range. VII. GOLF CARTS

4 1. Golf carts shall not be used by a Member or a guest on the property of the Club without proper assignment and registration in the Pro shop. 2. No more than two (2) people per golf cart are permitted. 3. Each operator of a golf cart must have a valid driver s license even if accompanied by an adult. 4. Club owned golf carts are not to be used off the golf course. 5. Golf carts must stay on paths where provided, especially near tees and greens. Players are required to remain on golf cart paths without exception on Par 3 holes. 6. Except on golf cart paths, golf carts may not be driven within thirty (30) feet of a tee or green. 7. Pull carts are allowed except within thirty (30) feet of a tee or green. 8. All traffic signs must be obeyed. 9. Golf carts should not be driven through a hazard or onto or across private property adjoining the Club. 10. Soft areas on fairways should be avoided, especially after rains. The roughs should be used whenever possible. 11. When the Carts In Rough Only- No Crossovers or Carts on Path Only signs are posted, these signs must be strictly followed. 12. Golf carts shall be driven on the golf course only when the course is open for play. 13. Operation of a golf cart is at risk of the operator. Cost of repair to a golf cart which is damaged by a Member will be charged to the Member or, in the case of damage by a guest, to the sponsoring Member. 14. Privately-owned carts are permitted. See Privately Owned Golf-Carts for restriction and applicable fees. 15. Violations of the golf cart rules may result in the loss of golf cart privileges and/or playing privileges. 16. All golfers must pair up when using club-owned golf carts.

5 VIII. PRIVATELY-OWNED GOLF CARTS 1. Members may own golf carts subject to payment of an annual trail fee to be established each year by Management. Private carts shall be of the size and type as those carts owned by the Club. There shall be no joint ownership of golf carts by more than one Membership. 2. A Member desiring to use a personal golf cart shall present evidence to Management of satisfactory personal liability insurance covering damage to Club property or injury to persons resulting from the operation of such golf cart on Club property, and shall sign a suitable waiver and indemnification agreement stating that the Club shall not be held responsible for any damage to the golf cart or injury to persons using the golf cart. 3. Use of a Member s golf cart without further charge is available to the Member and to any other member of his or her family who is entitled to golf privileges under their category of membership, if they have paid the appropriate trail fee. 4. All golf carts on the property must be approved by the Club. 5. It is suggested by the Club that privately-owned carts should use public roads to and from the facility. All carts driven on public roads must meet the Alachua County Safety Standards. 6. No golf cart shall be decorated in any manner unless approved in writing by the Club. 7. Privately-owned golf carts must obey all Club rules governing golf carts. 8. Members and guests playing golf in privately owned carts must register in the Pro- Shop prior to play. All play will start from the Number 1 or Number 10 tee, as assigned by the Pro-Shop. 9. The Club shall not provide for the storage of any privately-owned golf cart. All privately-owned golf carts must be kept at a Member s residence. No towing of carts to and from the facility is allowed. IX. GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE Golf is a sport in which etiquette is of paramount importance. Conformity to the Rules and Regulations of the USGA and Haile Plantation Golf and County Club is mandatory if Members and guests are to derive maximum enjoyment from the time they can spend on the course. The responsibility of all golfers begins on the first tee and continues through the eighteenth green. Consideration of others is the most important rule of golf. Please adhere to the following rules of golf course etiquette:

6 1. Do not waste time. Be ready to make your shot when it is your turn to play and do not be afraid to play out of turn if doing so will contribute to the progress of your group. 2. When play of a hole is completed, proceed to the next tee without delay. Complete the scoring for the completed hole while the others in your group are playing from the next tee. 3. If you are not holding your place on the course, step out of the field of play and allow the players behind you to play through. 4. Never leave the golf cart in front of the green where you will have to go back and get it while following players wait for you to leave the green area. 5. Profanity, club-throwing, and inappropriate behavior will not be allowed under any circumstances. 6. Reserve extended conversations for when your round is completed. 7. Repair your ball marks on the green. 8. Carefully rake sand traps after use. 9. Removal of a holed putt by a club is not permitted. 10. Any divot made in the fairways should be filled with sand contained in the sand buckets on the golf carts. 11. The golf rangers will report slow play and all violations of golf etiquette to the Pro Shop, which may result in disciplinary action. X. GUESTS 1. Members must pay the appropriate guest fee for their guests. 2. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests while at the Club. 3. A Member may only bring the same guest a maximum of two times per year. The maximum number of times any guest may play in a calendar year is six.
