2 Staysure PGA Trophy Returns in 2019 The Staysure Tour and The PGA are pleased to announce the call for entries to The 2019 Staysure PGA Trophy After the success of the 2018 Staysure PGA Trophy, Staysure and The Professional Golfers Association are proud to be delivering amateurs another great year of golf in The 2019 Staysure PGA Trophy is open to all amateur golfers aged 50 or over and features seven outstanding Regional Final venues, giving amateurs and their PGA club professional the opportunity to play at some of the top courses in the UK and Ireland. Winners of the Regional Finals will play alongside their PGA pro at the Staysure PGA Trophy Final from Tuesday 30 Wednesday 31 July We are delighted to confirm that the 2019 Grand Final will be played at London Golf Club for the second consecutive year, during the week of the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, the flagship event on the Staysure Tour. PGA Professionals will be competing for a share of the 30,000 prize fund with the winner taking home 7,500, plus the professional and amateur winning pair will take home the 2019 Staysure PGA Trophy. In addition, Staysure will be giving away dozens of great prizes for amateurs at both the Regional and Grand Finals. This entry pack includes all the information you need to ensure your club is represented at one of the seven Regional Finals. The first step to securing a place is to set the date of your Club Qualifying Round and promote this exciting opportunity to your members, using the poster included in this pack - then complete the Club Entry Form and mail to The PGA, or alternatively secure your entry easily by entering online via the PGA Professionals Players Club Account on BlueGolf. 3 Step-by-Step Entry Guide STEP 1 Organise your Club Qualifying Round which can be a standalone event or run in conjunction with an existing club competition. Remember only those amateurs who are 50 years of age or older are eligible to qualify. STEP 2 Once the date for the Club Qualifying Round has been set, complete the Club Entry Form and mail to The PGA with payment of 35/ 40 attached in Envelope A. Alternatively secure your entry easily by entering online via The PGA Professionals Players Club Account on BlueGolf. STEP 3 Host your Club Qualifying Round ensuring each amateur competitor provides a name and address and pays 2.00/ 2.30 entry fee. STEP 4 Following the completion of your Club Qualifying Round, fill out the Team Confirmation Form, Press Publicity Form and attach a copy of the Full Club Qualifier Results Sheet along with the Amateur Entry Sheet which contains the amateurs names and addresses. This should then be mailed to The PGA along with the sum of the 2/ 2.30 amateur entry fee in Envelope B provided.

5 Terms of the Competition The Staysure PGA Trophy London Golf Club Tuesday 30 Wednesday 31 July 2019 Total Professional Prize Fund 30, Conditions of Play (i) The Staysure PGA Trophy is a four-ball stableford team competition open to all Golf Clubs in Great Britain & Ireland that are affiliated to their relevant National or County Golf Union and all overseas Golf Clubs that currently engage an eligible PGA Professional. (ii) Each eligible club is invited to enter a team into The Staysure PGA Trophy. Each team is a side and comprises of an eligible PGA Professional and qualifying amateur as defined in 2. (iii) The Staysure PGA Trophy is a four-ball team competition. It is a condition of entry that both members of the side must be present and able to contribute to the team score during the stipulated round. This supersedes the provision of Rule (iv) The maximum handicap for competitors in The Staysure PGA Trophy is 28. Amateurs with higher handicaps may enter and are required to play off a maximum of 28 at the Club Qualifying Round, Regional Final and Grand Final. At the Regional Final and Grand Final a 90% handicap allowance will be granted. (v) An eligible PGA Professional and amateur may only represent one club in The Staysure PGA Trophy. (vi) A PGA Professional representing his or her club is liable for disciplinary action, in accordance with the Association s Tournament Regulations, if for example, the club fails to return their TEAM CONFIRMATION FORM to the Association by the due date, withdraws following the closing date or fails to be represented as required at the presentation of prizes. 2. Club Qualifying Round (i) Any full handicap 9 or 18 hole individual stroke play competition played on the Club s own course can be designated as The Staysure PGA Trophy Club Qualifying Round. (ii) Medal or Stableford events may be used for the Club Qualifying Round. Bogey or Par competitions are not permitted. (iii) Each amateur competitor is required to pay an entry fee of 2 and supply their address on the sign in sheet. (iv) The amateur who returns the best nett score or points total in the Club Qualifying Round qualifies to represent the Club at the respective Regional Final. (v) In the event of a qualifying amateur from the Club Qualifying Round being unable to compete in the Regional Final for any reason, the runner-up in the Club Qualifying Round may be substituted. Should the runner-up be unable to play, the club must work down the results sheet in order from third position onwards, until a substitute amateur partner is determined. (vi) The total of the amateur entry fees, which must be a minimum of 20 or 23 if paying by euro cheque must be returned to The PGA along with the TEAM CONFIRMATION FORM, PRESS PUBLICITY FORM, AMATEUR ENTRY SHEET and FULL CLUB RESULTS SHEET prior to the closing date for the Club s nominated Regional Final (as detailed in The Staysure PGA Trophy Schedule). 3. Regional Finals (i) Clubs may nominate the Regional Final in which they wish to participate. (ii) Entry is limited to 74 teams per Regional Final and will be accepted, on a first come, first served basis. Adjustments to field sizes and entries are at the discretion of The PGA and can be amended at any time. (iii) The Regional Finals are decided over 18 holes unless playing conditions require the number of holes to be reduced as per PGA Tournament Regulations. (iv) In the event of a tie, winners will be decided by a card play-off as follows: the best last 9, 6, 3, 1 holes. If a tie still remains the result will be determined by a match play, hole-by-hole play-off from the scores recorded on the card starting at the first hole of the round. (v) Information for competitors and the draw for starting times will be sent via to The PGA Professional approximately one week prior to the Regional Finals. They will also be available from (vi) The winning team from each Regional Final will qualify for the Grand Final as well as the second placed team from the host Regional Final. 4. Grand Final (i) The 2019 Staysure PGA Trophy Grand Final will be a 36 hole four-ball stableford event with 18 holes to be played on 30 and 31 July. (ii) The field will total 8 teams, comprising the winning pair from each of the 7 Regional Finals as well as the second placed team from the host Regional Final. (iii) In the event of a tie for first place in the Grand Final, a hole-by-hole play-off will be held, the winning team of which will be champions. The play-off will commence when possible from hole 1 and continue, playing the holes in order until a winner is determined. If applicable, handicap strokes will apply. Teams losing in such a play-off will be placed according to card play-off results unless performance in the hole-by-hole play-off determines these positions prior to the champions being determined. Card play-off, if applicable, will operate as follows: best last 18, 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes. If a tie still remains the result will be determined by a match play hole-by-hole play-off from the better ball scores recorded on the card starting at the first hole of the final round. If still tied, the same procedure will apply to the round 1 card. (iv) In the event of either the amateur or The PGA Professional of a winning team at a Regional Final leaving the Club before the Grand Final, or if the team is unable to participate in the Grand Final, the team finishing second in the relevant Regional Final will take the team s place. (v) The PGA will provide accommodation, food and beverage for all competitors competing in the Grand Final.

Staysure PGA Seniors Championship (i) All amateur finalists will be given the opportunity to compete alongside a leading Staysure Tour player in The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship which takes place during the same week at London Golf Club. (ii) The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship will run from Thursday 1 Sunday 4 August and each finalist will play in the fourball alliance on the Thursday and Friday. (iii) Accommodation, food and beverage will be provided for all amateurs for Thursday and Friday inclusive. 6. General Rules The Staysure PGA Trophy is approved by the R&A for the payment of expenses Amateur Status Rule 4-2g RA/4/2019. The Championship will be run in accordance with the Regulations of The Professional Golfers Association, the R&A Rules of Golf of R&A Rules Ltd, PGA Local Rules and Terms of the Competition and the additional local rules of each host venue as approved by the Tournament Director. 7. Eligibility for Professionals The following PGA Professionals are eligible to compete in The Staysure PGA Trophy: (i) Those Class A, AA, AT, AAT, E, ET, G, and GT Members that are currently engaged at the entering club. Note 1: A PGA Professional operating a second club, may nominate another eligible PGA Professional currently engaged at that second club to represent the second club and play with the amateur winner of the Club Qualifying Round in both the Regional Final and Grand Final. Note 2: An eligible member may only represent one club in The Staysure PGA Trophy. Note 3: Entrants must satisfy the above criteria and eligibility conditions throughout all stages of the competition. 8. Eligibility for Amateurs (i) The Staysure PGA Trophy is open to both male and female amateur golfers aged 50 or over at the date of the Club Qualifying Round. All entrants must be a current full member of the participating club. (ii) The qualifying amateur must have a current competition CONGU handicap, or equivalent, throughout all stages of the competition. Any amateur from outside of Great Britain and Ireland with a non-congu handicap will have their handicap adjusted at the Regional Finals and Grand Final as per the PGA s Overseas Handicapping Policy. A handicap certificate must be presented to The PGA at the Regional Finals and the Grand Final. (iii) If an amateur s handicap is suspended or becomes a non-competition handicap at any stage of the competition the amateur is no longer eligible to compete, which in the case of an amateur in a team qualified for the Grand Final, then 4 (iv) applies. (iv) If an amateur wishes to use a buggy during the Regional Final or Grand Final they must make a request in writing to the Tournament Director outlining their reason. The PGA will require a medical note in order for a request to be considered. (v) The maximum handicap to participate in the Alliance format at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship is 18 (male) and 24 (female). 9. Professional Substitutions (i) Another eligible PGA Professional currently engaged as detailed in 7 (i) may be substituted at any time prior to the Regional Final at the request and approval of The PGA Professional originally entered. (ii) Assistant PGA Professionals currently employed by a member as detailed in 7 (i) may only be substituted in exceptional circumstances and with the approval of The PGA Tournament Department, prior to the day of the Regional Final. Requests must be made in writing. (iii) The PGA Tournament Department must be informed of any substitutions as soon as possible. If either of the above policies are implemented and the team qualifies for the Grand Final, the substitute is required to participate in the Grand Final (i.e. the Professional is not allowed to replace the substitute Professional at the Grand Final). 10. Club & Amateur Entry Fee and Closing Dates The Club Entry Fee for The Staysure PGA Trophy is 35 or in the case of EU Clubs 40. Payment methods are online, credit/debit cards (excluding Amex) and cheque. Payments made by cheque can be payable by, or on behalf of The PGA Professional. It should be forwarded to The PGA along with the CLUB ENTRY FORM. Closing dates for each Regional Final are shown on the full schedule. The amateur entry fee for the Club Qualifying Round is 2/ 2.30 per player and amateurs will be asked to provide their address on the Amateur Entry Sheet. 11. Prize Fund Breakdown ( GBP) The Staysure PGA Trophy has a total prize fund of 30,000 ( GBP) split between the 7 Regional Finals and the Grand Final. This prize fund will be awarded to professionals from the four-ball team scores. There is no professional individual prize fund. Note 1: In the event of a tie, prize money is shared between professionals with the exception of a tie for first place in the Grand Final. See 4 (iii). Note 2: To receive prize money, competitors must complete all rounds entered. Note 3: Amateurs in the leading team at all Regional Finals and all Grand Finalists will receive a prize. In the event of a tie for these places, the procedure in 3 (iv) will apply unless 4 (iii) determines otherwise. Note 4: All prize money is subject to a 6% PGA levy. Note 5: Non-UK tax payers may be subject to withholding tax on prize money won above the UK personal tax allowance threshold. 12. PGA Rights The PGA reserves the right to change or amend the Terms of the Competition. All disputes will be decided by The PGA whose decision will be final. The PGA disclaims all responsibility for forms which are lost, damaged in the post or for forms which arrive after the closing date. 13. Privacy As a participant in The Staysure PGA Trophy, the sponsors Staysure will give you the option to receive marketing about complimentary tickets, Pro-Am golf experiences, exclusive competitions, discounts on golf & travel insurance and the Staysure Tour competition. Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties and all contact will be in line with Staysure s Privacy Policy which can be found on their website staysure.co.uk/privacy-policy.
