1 BERMUDA DUNES COUNTRY CLUB December 1, 2018 Newsletter by Tracey Connole The 60th Anniversary Diamond Gala The Main Dining Room was transformed into an elegant vision of silver and black for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Gala held on Saturday, November 17, Members and their guests mingled and enjoyed libations and lite bites during the cocktail hour, then sat down to a surf and turf dinner prepared by Chef Scott. A tribute to Bermuda Dunes Country Club founder, Ernie Dunlevie, was presented by Board Vice-President, Gary Honts. A live band brought the crowd to their feet, and they danced the night away. It was the party of the year! Mary Pat Jenkins A tree dedication ceremony was held on November 15, 2018 for long time Member, Mary Pat Jenkins, who we lost this year. A beautiful orchid tree was planted in front of the ladies locker room for all to see. A plaque now adorns the tree in Mrs. Jenkin s honor. It was a wonderful tribute to a much loved wife and friend.

3 December 1, 2018 GOLF Page Three The BDCC Putters The BDCC Putters held their first friendly competition on November 15, 2018 on the putting green. Nate Browning provided a quick putting clinic for those new or returning to golf. The ladies then showed off their putting skills. The BDCC Putters meet each Thursday at 9:30 am on the Grill Room patio. All female BDCC Members in good standing are welcome to join including Social Members. It is a fun way to practice while making new friends. The Couples Kick Off Tournament occurred on November 11, st Gross David & Allison Travis and James & April Filewich 1st Net Sandy & Janice Bain and Gary & Cheryl Honts The Men s Season Opener took place on November 17, Congratulations to: 1st Gross Chris Middleton & Austin Dunphy 1st Net Charles LeVarnway & David Smith

4 December 1, 2018 GOLF Page Four Welcome New Team Members Assistant Professional, Cody Cunningham, joins the Golf Shop team. Nick Marshall and Todd Jackson are new additions to the Outside Service crew. Golf Clinics Assistant Professional, Nate Browning, held a Wedge/Short Game Clinic in November at the Club to teach proper techniques for consistent contact. The Golf Pros will be offering numerous clinics throughout the season to help Members hone their skills. All Members in good standing are welcomed to participate. Please contact the Golf Shop for more information. Holiday Shopping The Golf Shop is stocked and ready to fulfill your holiday gift giving needs. You will find everything from the latest clothing trends, accessories, candles and more! Congratulations to Kathy Ross for hitting a Hole-in-One on November 15, 2018 on Classic #4 for 132 yards. She accomplished this using her 11 wood.

The ladies of the BDWGA got into the Thanksgiving spirit with their Turkey Trot, Luncheon and General Meeting on November 14, New Members, Sue Lloyd, Margaret Marino and Catherine Petrek, were introduced. Joyce Albinger was the most improved player of the month, while Janine Anderson took the honor of most improved player of the year. Karen Columbro had the lucky ticket for a free lunch. 6 December 1, 2018 BDWGA Page Six Winner Winner Chicken Dinner The Ladies Eclectic Tournament was held on November 27th and 28th. The theme was Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. Of course, chicken was served for lunch and was delicious, the flights were named after breeds of chickens and everyone got into the spirit by dancing the Chicken Dance. So much fun!
