11 ABC GOLF TOURNAMENT XYZ GOLF COURSE DECEMBER 5-8, 20XX Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and where applicable, by the following Local Rules, Conditions and Definitions. Appendix I refers to the Appendix of Local Rules and Conditions in the Rules of Golf Booklet. Unless otherwise specified, the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is two strokes in Stroke Play. 1. GOLF BALLS: List of Conforming Balls: Appendix I, page TIME OF STARTING: See note under Rule 6-3 page 30, and Appendix I, page RETURNING SCORE CARD: Rule 6-6, page 31. (A player is deemed to have returned his score card to the Committee when he leaves the physically defined scoring area established by the Committee). 4. EMBEDDED BALL THROUGH THE GREEN: See Appendix I, page OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by inside points of white stakes, perimeter fencing posts at ground level and white lines tying into white stakes. (Such stakes, fence posts and concrete bases of fence posts are NOT obstructions). A ball that crosses a public road that defines or is out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part off the course. 6. GROUND UNDER REPAIR: Enclosed white line areas (except drop zones). 7. OBSTRUCTIONS: White lined areas tying into roads or paths, and curbing or railroad ties adjacent to roads or paths, are extensions of those obstructions. 8. WOOD CHIPS around bases of trees are loose impediments. 9. INTEGRAL PARTS OF THE COURSE: * Retaining walls and pilings when located within water hazards or within/or around bunkers; * Tree wrappings, electrical wires, cables and lightening rods closely attached to trees. 10. PERMANENT ELEVATED POWER LINES AND CABLES: If a ball strikes such a line or cable, the stroke must be canceled and replayed without penalty. If the ball is not immediately recoverable, another ball may be substituted. 11. TURF PLUGS ON PUTTING GREENS: On putting greens, in addition Rule 16-1c, turf plugs of any size or shape may be repaired. 12. COMPETITION CLOSED: A competition is deemed to be closed when the Committee has officially announced the results. RULES COMMITTEE
12 2006 GINN CLUBS & RESORTS OPEN REUNION RESORT AND CLUB APRIL 27-30, 2006 SUPPLEMENTARY RULES OF PLAY 1. OUT OF BOUNDS: In addition to Item #8 on the LPGA Rules of Play Card, out of bounds is defined by the following: a) the inside edge of brown with white tip stakes; b) white lines when tied to out of bounds stakes; c) the inside edge of street curbing when tied to out of bounds stakes. 2. BALL DROP FOR TEMPORARY IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTION HOLE #15: If a player is entitled to relief from the temporary immovable obstruction on hole #15, she may proceed under Appendix I, or she may drop the ball without penalty on the ball drop area, provided it is no nearer the hole than the ball s original position. LOCATION: right rear of green in the rough 3. TEMPORARY IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS HOLES #8, #10 & #16: If a player is entitled to relief from the temporary immovable obstruction (television tower behind the green on hole #8, #10 or #16), she may proceed under Appendix I by dropping the ball on either side of the Temporary Immovable Obstruction. 4. MOLE CRICKET DAMAGE: Identifiable mole cricket damage and/or mounds are considered ground under repair. Rule 25-1b (i). The player may repair damage to the putting green caused by mole crickets. 5. SPANISH MOSS: In trees is considered fixed or growing and may not be removed. Fallen to the ground is considered a loose impediment. 6. TRANSPORTATION: Players may accept transportation between #9 green and #10 tee. Otherwise, the prohibition against accepting transportation is in effect. LPGA RULES COMMITTEE NOTES: 1. COMMUNICATIONS FOR RULINGS: All greens. 2. SUDDEN DEATH PLAY-OFF: If needed, will be played over holes 18,16,17,18 until a winner is determined. 3. INTEGRAL PART OF THE COURSE: All stone and wooden walls are considered integral parts of the course (NO RELIEF).
13 KRAFT NABISCO CHAMPIONSHIP MISSION HILLS COUNTRY CLUB APRIL 3-6, 2008 SUPPLEMENTARY RULES OF PLAY 1. OUT OF BOUNDS: In addition to Item #8 on the LPGA Rules of Play Card, out of bounds is defined by the following: a. the inside edge of roadways when tied into out of bounds stakes; b. white lines when tied into out of bounds stakes; c. the water s edge on the left side of hazard on #3, #6 and #18 and behind #5 green when tied into out of bounds stakes. 2. DROP ZONES FOR WATER HAZARDS-HOLES #5, #6, #14 and #18: If a ball lies in, or is lost in the water hazard on hole #5, #6, #14 or #18, the player may proceed under Rule 26-1, or under penalty of one stroke, she may drop a ball on the drop zone, provided it is no nearer the hole than the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the hazard. LOCATIONS: #5 - on the forward tee #6-75 yards short of the green in the fairway #14 - short of the green in the fairway #18 - (a) short of the hazard in the right step-cut (b) short left of the green (for skybox only) 3.DROP ZONES FOR TEMPORARY IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS-HOLES #9 and #18: If a player s ball lies through the green and she is entitled to relief from the temporary immovable obstructions on hole #9 or #18, she may proceed under Appendix I, or she may drop the ball on the drop zone, provided it is no nearer the hole than the ball s original position. LOCATIONS: #9 - right of green across cart path #18- (a) short of the hazard in right step-cut (for all TIO s except Jumbo board) (b) short left of the green (for skybox only) 4. TEMPORARY IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS-HOLES #8, #15, #16 and #18: If a player is entitled to relief from the temporary immovable obstructions on hole #8,#15, #16 or #18, she may take relief under Appendix I, or she may proceed as follows: LOCATIONS: #8 - drop the ball on either side of the television tower; #15- drop the ball on either side of the television tower; #16- drop the ball on either side of the television tower; #18- drop the ball on either side of the jumbo leaderboard. 5. TRANSPORTATION: Players may accept transportation between #17 green and #18 tee only. Otherwise, the prohibition against accepting transportation is in effect. LPGA RULES COMMITTEE NOTES: 1. COMMUNICATIONS FOR RULINGS: All greens. 2. HOLE-BY-HOLE PLAYOFF: If needed, will be played over holes #18, #10 and #18 until a winner is determined. 3. WATER HAZARD DEFINED HOLE #18: The water hazard on hole #18 is defined by the water s edge beneath the skybox left of the green. 4. RETURNING SCORE CARDS: As an amendment to Item #3 on the 2008 LPGA Rule of Play Card, a player s score card is deemed to be returned when she leaves the scoring tent on hole #18.
