The Colorado State women s golf team travels to Fairfax, Calif., for the Bay Area Intercollegiate, hosted by San Francisco and San Jose State. This is the Rams third consecutive trip to California. The two-day tournament runs March Bay Area Intercollegiate format... The 14-team field will be participating in a 54-hole tournament to be played on the par 71, 6,050-yard The Meadow Club, located in Fairfax, Calif. Playing in threesomes, the teams will play 36 holes the first day with a tee time at 9 a.m. MST on Monday, and 18 holes the second day starting at 9 a.m. MST on Tuesday March 10. Pairings for the final 18-hole round will be determined by team scores for each round. The low four individual scores will determine the team scores for each round. The Field... The 2015 edition of the Bay Area Intercollegiate features 14 teams, including three teams from the Mountain West, and 13 teams in the top-100 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. As of March 4, Washington is the No. 1 women s golf program in the country. The field includes: BYU (82), Coastal Carolina (42), Colorado (53), Colorado State (99), Gonzaga (49), Indiana (73), Oregon (33), San Francisco (78), San Jose State (43), UC Riverside (77), UC Davis (34), UC Irvine (132), UNLV (18) and Washington (1). The Rams lineup... Colorado State s lineup for the Bay Area Intercollegiate will be led by freshman Allie Andersen, who is in the Rams No. 1 position for the fourth time this season. She is one of two Rams to compete in all seven events this season. Fellow freshman Sarah Archuleta will play in the No. 2 spot. She was previously competing in the No. 5 spot, and is coming off a 69 in the final round of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational. Senior Jessa LaBarbera will golf in the No. 3 spot for the third consecutive tournament. Sophomore Elisabeth Rau and junior Riley Leming will hold down the fourth and fifth spots, respectively. Mikayla Tatman will participate as an individual. This is her first event of the spring, as she has been hampered by a back injury. Live Scoring... Colorado State freshman Allie Andersen has been named Mountain West Tri-Golfers of the Week, joining Fresno State s Mimi Ho and Hannah Sodersten, after her performance at The Gold Rush, presented by Southern California Ford Dealers on Feb It was the first weekly conference honor for the CSU women s golf program since April 2012 when senior Brianna Espinoza earned the same award. Andersen recorded her first career top-5 finish when she finished tied for fifth at the Gold Rush by Southern California Ford Dealers in Seal Beach, Calif., on Feb The native of The Woodlands, Texas, carded a seven-over 223 and led the 65-player field with 40 pars, both career-bests. Andersen began the tournament with a one-under 71 in the first round, which tied for her career-best single-round score Youthful... Last season, Colorado State had one of its most experienced groups of all time, but after four seniors graduated in May, the team squad is young and looking to improve each week. The Colorado State women s golf program posted a ninth-place finish to open the season, as two Rams redshirt junior Mikayla Tatman and freshman Lisa Unterganschnigg recorded even-par 72 s on Tuesday in the final round of the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic. As a team, CSU finished the season-opening tournament with a 39-over 903. That 54-hole total is the Rams best score in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic since 2011 (896). The Rams played consistent golf over the two-day tournament, as proven by finishing with the second-most pars (174) I thought the girls played hard against a very good field, said second-year head coach Annie Young. I am encouraged by the play of our freshmen. The Rams, who shot eight strokes better than last year at their home tournament, were led by two newcomers in the standings. Allie Andersen from The Woodlands, Texas, and Unterganschnigg from Zell am See, Austria, both freshmen, finished tied for 32nd and tied for 37th, respectively. I thought they (freshmen) handled themselves well on the course, and they are tough, Young said. They may not have played as well as they would have liked, but they are headed in the right direction. Andersen moved up seven spots over the final 18 holes to become CSU s top-finisher after carding a 54-hole total of 226 (+10). Furthermore, Andersen registered 38 pars, which was third among the 90 golfers. My first tournament went pretty well, Andersen said. The most important thing to take away from an event is learning what you can improve on as a player, and I learned so much about my game and my teammates this week. Between now and the Rams next tournament next week, Andersen said she hopes to improve on her putting and decision-making when it comes to her approach shots. Unterganschnigg slid from 25th-place after the first two rounds into a tie for 37th after a final round 79 (+7). The Austrian native led the Rams with 39 pars, second-most in the tournament. Finishing just behind Unterganschnigg was CSU s redshirt-junior Mikayla Tatman, who carded a 228 (+12). She was the third Ram to finish in the top-5 of total pars made with 37. Senior Jessa LaBarbera and sophomore Elisabeth Rau rounded out the CSU lineup, shooting 229 and 230, respectively. Rau led the team with eight birdies over 54 holes. Mountain West foe San Diego State swept the awards, after winning team honors, shooting 870 over the two days, and producing the individual medalist in Emma Henrikson. Henrikson careded a five-under 211. The Rams will be on the road on Sept. 15 and 16 at the Dick McGuire Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. The Colorado State women s golf team wrapped up its second tournament of the season in a tie for 13th-place at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The Rams saved their best for last, carding a tournament-best 301 in the final round on Tuesday afternoon, but it wasn t enough as CSU did not move up the leaderboard. In the end, the Rams carded a 54-hole total of 925 (+49), and edged out Mountain West competitors New Mexico (+52) and Nevada (+53). It was great to see us bounce back after a rough second round, said second-year head coach Annie Young. It s always good to compete against the best. We are a young team and it is going to be a growing process. We will continue to work hard, and I am confident the results will be there in the long run. Just like the first two rounds, the Rams were paced by freshmen Lisa Unterganschnigg and Allie Andersen. Unterganschnigg finished with a 54-hole total of 228 (+9), which put her in a tie for 44th-place. The native of Austria started off with an opening-round one-under, but following up with an eight-over round and a two-over par round. Andersen, who hails from The Woodlands, Texas, finished onestroke behind Unterganschnigg at 10-over par. Andersen opened the tournament with a 77 in both the first and second rounds and finished it off with a two-over 75 on Tuesday. Her 229 was good for a 50th-place finish. Sophomore Elisabeth Rau finished in 63rd-place after shooting a three-round total of 234, while Jessa LaBarbera and Mikayla Tatman finished 70th and 76th, respectively. LaBarbera shot a 54-hole total of 237, while Tatman carded a 239. Freshman Sarah Archuleta, who competed as an individual, moved up sixth places after a final round 76. In her first collegiate event, Archuleta carded a 54-hole total of 240 (+21) and finished in a tie for 82nd-place. UNLV s Dana Finkelstein was the individual medalist after shooting a nine-under 210. Northwestern, out of the Big 10, cruised to an eight-stroke victory. The Wildcats, who are coming off a 2013 Big 10 Championship, carded an 868 (-8), holding off UNLV who finished at even-par. UC Davis (+6), Pepperdine (+7) and San Diego State (+10) rounded out the top-5. The Rams now have three weeks to prepare for their next event in Seattle, Wash., at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. The Colorado State women s golf team finished the final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, slipping four spots to finish in 10th-place. The Rams carded a final-round score of 316, and finished with a 41-over 617 for the tournament. On the final day, only two teams (Stanford and UC Davis) improved their scores from Round 1 to Round 2. Redshirt junior Mikayla Tatman was the Rams overall leader, finishing in 20th-place with a seven-over 151. Tatman carded a one-over 73 in Tuesday s opening round. This marked her second top-20 finish of her career and her first since finishing 19th at the MountainView Invitational last season. Tatman is also the first Ram to register a top-20 finish this year. Colorado State was led on Day 2 by sophomore Elisabeth Rau who improved by two strokes in the final round to shoot a fourover 76 on Wednesday. Through 36 holes, Rau finished in a tie for 27th-place with a 10-over 154. Rau was the only golfer in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational to record an eagle. Rau carded a three on Hole 18, a 455-yard par 5. Freshman Sarah Archuleta, who was tied for 5th-place after Day 1 dropped 26 spots to finish in a tie for 31st-place. Archuleta, who was playing in only her second collegiate event, carded an 11-over on the final day. Just two strokes behind here was senior Jessa LaBarbera who shot a seven-over 79 on Wednesday to finish 13-over for the tournament. LaBarbera finished the day strong, shooting one-over on the back-9. Rounding out the CSU lineup was freshman Allie Andersen. Andersen shot an 11-over 83 on Wednesday, giving her a 167 (+23) for the tournament. Washington, the hosts, finished out a wire-to-wire victory, winning by 19 strokes over the second-place Cardinal from Stanford (+14). UC Davis (+22), Gonzaga (+30) and Colorado (+32) rounded out the top-5. Washington s SooBin Kim ran away with the individual honors, carding a 36-hole total of 136 (-8). She finished nine strokes ahead of her teammates Jennifer Yang and Eimi Koga. As a team, the Rams finished ahead of Hawai i (+46) and Seattle (+57).

The Colorado State women s golf team carded a 294 on Tuesday at the Las Vegas Collegiate, its lowest single round since last February at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (293). Although the Rams put together a season-best performance, they still dropped four spots to finish in a 15th-place, recording a 54-hole total of 895, which is also the best three-round score by CSU since the Westbrook Spring Invitational. The Rams were led wire-to-wire by sophomore Elisabeth Rau. Rau, a native of Irving, Texas, finished with a three-round score of 222 (+6), placing her in a tie for 30th-place. This ties for her best 54-hole score of her collegiate career (Westbrook Spring Invitational Feb., 2014). Rau opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 73, but finished the event with a four-over 76 in the final round. Freshman Allie Andersen moved up 36 spots in the final round to after shooting a career-best one-under 71. For the tournament, Andersen finished six-over in a tie for 41st. Finishing just three strokes behind Andersen was fellow freshman Lisa Unterganschnigg. Unterganschnigg shot a three-over 75 on the final day to finish in 62nd-place (227). Riley Leming, a transfer from Portland State, competed in her first tournament for the Rams, finishing with a 54-hole total of 232 after shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday. Rounding out CSU s lineup was junior Mikayla Tatman, who carded a 233. UNLV s Dana Finkelstein took individual honors, carding a nine-under 207. Finkelstein finished three strokes ahead of fellow Mountain West competitor Haleigh Krause from San Diego State. San Diego State and Minnesota both finished at one-under (863), sharing the team title. The Gophers shot 10-under on the final day, the best 18-hole performance of the tournament. The Colorado State women s golf team slid three spots in the final round to finish The Gold Rush by Southern California Ford Dealers in sixth-place, after a 314 on Tuesday. The Rams finished with a team score of 909 ( ). It was a tough day today, head coach Annie Young said. I think we got caught up in the moment and didn t execute well. Hopefully it is a lesson learned and we can all get better from it. Fortunately, we are turning right back around in 10 days where we can get right back at it. CSU was led by freshman Allie Andersen who finished in a tie for fifthplace. Carding a three-round total of 223 (+8), Andersen registered her first top-5 finish of her career. She also led the tournament with 40 pars. The native of The Woodlands, Texas, began the day in a tie for first, but BYU s Lea Garner shot a one-over 73 in the final round to secure the victory. Finishing inside the top-20 for the Rams was senior Jessa LaBarbera and junior transfer Riley Leming, who both finished tied for 16thplace. Both golfers shot identical 77s on Tuesday to secure the top-20 positions. Much like the first two rounds, Leming led the Rams with seven birdies in the two-day event. Sophomore Elisabeth Rau finished just two strokes behind LaBarbera and Leming after shooting an 80 on the final day. Rau, who was playing in the Rams No. 1 spot, finished 25th. Rounding out the Rams lineup was freshman Sarah Archuleta, who shot a 54-hole total of 247. Host Long Beach State was the wire-to-wire winner of The Gold Rush by Southern California Ford Dealers, shooting a team score of 883 (+19). LBSU finished 19 strokes ahead of Fresno State who held on to a second-place finish. UC Riverside (907), BYU (907) and Cal Poly (908) rounded out the top-5. The Rams are back on the course at the end of February at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational in San Jose, Calif. In this event last year, CSU finished 11th out of 13 teams and carded a Colorado State (+74) T21 Allie Andersen (+16) T21 Sarah Archuleta (+16) T35 Jessa LaBarbera (+23) T46 Elisabeth Rau (+29) T48 Riley Leming (+31) Team Champion: San Jose State (+33) Medalist: Megan Osland (SJSU) and Martina Edberg (CSUF) (+3) SAN JOSE, Calif. The Colorado State women s golf team completed play at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational in eighth-place, recording a 54-hole total of 938 (+74). I think there were some bright spots this week, but overall we have to keep working at it, head coach Annie Young said. It was good to see Sarah (Archuleta) have a great round today. Sarah Archuleta led the Rams on Tuesday, carding a three-under 69, a career-best single round score and the best round by a CSU women s golfer since March 15, 2013 when Christian Spinzig shot a three-under 69 at the MountainView Collegiate. She is finally starting to see her hard work pay off, Young said. The Rams had two freshmen, Allie Andersen and Archuleta that narrowly missed a top-20 finish. Both golfers finished the two-day event with 16-over par 232 s, a tie for 21st. Andersen entered the final day in a tie for eighth-place, but shot a nine-over 81 on Tuesday to finish tied for 21st. Seven strokes behind the two freshmen was senior Jessa LaBarbera. LaBarbera shot an 82 on the final day to finish the 54-hole tournament with a 239, placing her in a tie for 35th. Elisabeth Rau and Riley Leming rounded out CSU s lineup, shooting 245 (+29) and 247 (+31), respectively. Rau, a sophomore from Irving, Texas, carded her best round of the tournament with a seven-over par 79 on Tuesday. In the end, the Rams finished 12 strokes outside of the top-5. No. 46 ranked San Jose State, the event hosts, took home the team championship shooting an 897 (+33). The Spartans edged out Mountain West foe Fresno State, who shot an 899 (+35). Santa Clara and BYU tied for third after carding 59-over 923 s, and Boise State rounded out the top-5 with a 62-over par. San Jose State s Megan Osland and Cal State Fullerton s Martina Edberg shared individual medalist honors, finishing the two-day event at three-over par. Both golfers shot two-under on the final day
