2 Outstanding Course Talented Players Excellent Competition Celebrated Tradition Kawartha Golf & Country Club is pleased to invite you to our 72 nd Annual Kawartha Invitational being held on August 5, 6, and 7. There will be eight Champions declared on Monday August 7 th, including our Overall Champion, along with one from each of seven flights. The format will be medal play for Flights 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and the 7 th flight will be NET medal play. As in past years, you will have the option of joining in on the Gross Skins game each day, split into two Flights (1, 2, & 3), (4, 5, 6, & 7). New for 2017: Flights 1, 2 and 3 will play the Championship Tees (Blue/White) Flights 4, 5, 6 and 7 will play the White Tees (White/Red) Flight 7 will be a NET Championship Monday s Leader Groups will be formed from all 7 Flights Flights 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will all have 1 Group Flight 1 will have 3 Leader Groups Please complete the attached entry form and return by July 15, 2017 to take advantage of Early Bird pricing. Entries received after July 15, 2017 are subject to a LATE Entry Fee of an additional $50. The field size will be capped at 180 to ensure pace of play is maintained during the event for your enjoyment. 3 TOURNAMENT HISTORY The Kawartha Invitational has been held since 1946 as a three-day amateur tournament on the long weekend in August. The Invitational welcomes players and spectators across the country and has an impressive Past Champions list which includes Taylor Pendrith, Jon Mills, Nick Weslock, Marc Savard, and Tyler McDannold to name a few. The first annual Invitational was won by Ron Patterson and has featured other competitions such as Closest to the Pin, a Par-3 Contest, Long- Drive Contest, and sponsored Hole-in-One contests. Designed back in 1932 by Stanley Thompson, the Kawartha Golf & Country Club has achieved tremendous accomplishments that have put the Club in both the local and national spotlight. Kawartha is well known for its hospitality and the Invitational is a tournament that has fostered many great memories, friendship and exceptional golf. 6 Rules and Regulations To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, spectators, volunteers and Club staff, Kawartha Golf & Country Club requires that all participants in Club hosted tournaments adhere to a code of conduct. CODE OF CONDUCT Adhere strictly to the Rules of Golf Adhere to the rules and regulations of the Club including the Dress Code (see below) and the rules and regulations of the Liquor License Act (see below) Demonstrate respect for fellow golfers, spectators, tournament officials, committee members and Club staff Refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating, club throwing, or abuse of Club property and the use of abusive or profane language and excessive noise LIQUOR LICENSE VIOLATIONS No person shall have, keep or consume alcoholic beverages in any part of the Club grounds or premises, except in accordance with the license granted to the Club by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario. All alcoholic beverages consumed on the property must be purchased from the Club. DRESS CODE The following is the minimum standards of attire required: Slacks, pants or cords Pants or shorts with exterior sewn pockets (flush to the garment) and no accordion pleats Shorts, to be of appropriate and acceptable length Long or short sleeve shirt with collar. Mock neck shirts should have a minimum of 1½ inch collar Shirts must be tucked in at all times Hats must be worn properly Golf shoes or sandals with soft spikes or running shoes The following attire is not acceptable: Any footwear that may damage the greens including metal golf spikes Overalls, work pants, sweat pants, cargo pants/shorts with pleated (accordion folded) external pockets Cut-offs or frayed shorts, jogging or athletic shorts, swimwear Cut-off sleeves or tank tops Any shirt or headwear with an offensive slogan ENFORCEMENT Violations will be dealt with by Tournament Committee Members, the Club s General Manager or the Club s Professional staff and depending on the severity of the infraction may result in: Verbal or written warning or reprimand Disqualification from the tournament Rejection of application for participation in subsequent tournaments Penalties will not be subject to appeal.
