1 PEVELY FARMS GOLF CLUB MONDAY NIGHT GOLF LEAGUE RULES SUMMARY & CALENDAR 2018 Registration / League Payments 1. Pevely Farms Golf Club Monday Night Golf League is a 9-hole stroke play league with handicaps, and consists of 16 weeks of league play followed by 5 weeks of handicap Match Play (Playoffs) to determine the League Champion. The total number of league members per season is limited to the first 70 who pay the League fee. League members must complete a registration form (available in the Pevely Farms Pro Shop) and provide an address when they join the league. s are the only method of communication used by the League Commissioner for any notifications and updates regarding league play. 2. The League fee is $80.00 per member for the season, is payable on or before the first day of league play, and is non-refundable. The 9 holes green/cart fee for league reserved tee times on Monday s is $25 per golfer. League members can play an additional 9 holes before league play, subject to course availability, for an additional $7. All league fees and green/cart fees are paid directly to the Pro Shop. League fees will be used to: (1) purchase Pevely Farms Golf Club gift cards for members who advance to league Playoffs, and (2) to pay for league member beer and food nights detailed in the League Calendar below. Tee Times 3. All events are scheduled with progressive tee times between 3:00PM and 5:30PM. The first to arrive will be the first to tee off. Each tee time will accommodate 4 players. The Pevely Farms Golf Club Starter will pair you up with other league players should you not have 4 players in your group. Do not tee off until given permission to do so by the Starter. The Starter will also let you know which 9 holes (front 9 or back 9) the league is playing as the league will alternate front and back 9 weekly. There will be 2 weeks where we require you to sign up for a tee time (the goal behind this is to allow members of the league a chance to meet and play with other league members). Tee Box Assignments 4. A member s age on the first day of league play will determine tees to be used. Age Tees <54 Blue <54 (B Flight) White White 65-Older Yellow Any league member can elect to play longer tees but must do so for the entire season including league Playoffs. Each member electing to play 1

2 longer tees must notify the League Commissioner or there score will be disqualified for that week. Rules of Play 5. USGA rules govern all play except as noted below and except where modified by local course rules and the League Commissioner. 6. If a ball is hit into un-mowed grass marked by red stakes as a hazard, player may play the ball as it lies, or declare the ball unplayable. If ball is declared unplayable, take a 1-stroke penalty, drop the ball within 2 club lengths of where it entered the hazard no closer to the pin, and move on. If a ball is played from the hazard, USGA rules do not allow for grounding of the club without a stroke for each time the club is grounded. All hazards on course no matter how they are marked will be played as lateral hazards. 7. Members will play the ball down, meaning do not bump the ball to improve the ball s lie. Only the League Commissioner may change this rule should course conditions be less than desirable. Should the League Commissioner designate lift, clean and place, he will post a note on the Pro Shop door prior to play. Additionally, there are NO mulligans or gimmie putts allowed during league play. Penalty for non-compliance will be disqualification for the round. Flights / Handicaps / Scorecards 8. The League will have two flights, A and B. League members will be assigned to either A Flight or B Flight based on their league handicap. The League Commissioner will determine the break for handicaps for purposes of assigning a member to A Flight and B Flight in such a manner to keep the total number of members in each flight the same as is reasonably possible. 9. Each member s handicap will be computed, by the League Commissioner, based solely on league scores, in a manner consistent with GHIN. Returning League members will be start with their handicap from the end of last season until new handicap is established. New League members will be assessed a handicap once a player has 3 rounds turned in. Thereafter, a member s handicap will be updated every 2 weeks. During the 5 th through 12 th week of league play, a member may move from A Flight to B Flight, or vice versa, depending upon their league handicap. All cumulative points earned prior to moving from one flight to the other will transfer with the member. After the first 12 weeks of league play, members will remain in the same flight, regardless of their handicap, for the remainder of the season. 10. The League Commissioner will post league handicaps and play results weekly in the Pro Shop. A final handicap computation will be made after the 16 th week of league play and 80% of your handicap will be used throughout league Playoffs. 11. Members are responsible for turning in their scorecard to the scorer immediately after completing their 9 hole league round. Scorer will accept a single scorecard containing multiple member names and scores as long as First and Last name and gross score by hole is legibly printed thereon. 2

3 Make Up Rounds 12. Members will be allowed (3) Make-up rounds for the year. No Make-up rounds will be allowed for the 16 th week of league play. Make-up rounds must be played the week prior of or by Sunday of the week in which they did not play and on the same 9 holes played that week by the league. The Pevely Farms Golf Club standard published green/cart fees apply for makeup rounds. This means a member may pay a higher rate than the league rate on Mondays during league play times. The 3-stroke rule will be enforced for any Make-up round. Scorecards for Make-up rounds must be turned into the Pro Shop immediately after completing a Make-up round and are to be put in an envelope addressed to: MONDAY NIGHT GOLF LEAGUE COMMISSIONER. Scorecard must show first and last name, gross score by hole, and date round was played. Points / Playoffs / Gift Cards Awarded 13. Score points of 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 are earned in each flight for each member with the lowest 5 net handicap scores for all regular season dates. For each league play date designated as a Major on the League Calendar, the weekly Score points earned in each flight for the lowest 10 net handicap scores will be 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. In addition, each member will also earn 1 point (a Show point) for each week that they play during league tee times and on Major nights you each member will receive 2 show points. Members reporting a make-up round, or that play other than between reserved league tee times (3:00 to 5:30 pm) without the prior approval of the League Commissioner, will not earn the Show point. 14. The top 16 highest cumulative point winners in each flight after the 16 th week of league play will advance to league Playoffs. League Playoffs format is Match Play with handicaps. Members in each flight play members in each flight until a flight champion is determined. During the 5 th round of Playoffs, the winner of A Flight and B Flight play one another for League Champion and 2 nd place, and the runner up of A Flight and B Flight play one another for 3 rd and 4 th place. The Championship match and 3 rd Place match will be contested as 18 hole match play round. For the 5 th round of Playoffs, the winner of A Flight will give the winner of B Flight and the runner up of A Flight will give the runner up of B Flight, the lower of; (1) 9 strokes, or (2) the actual number of strokes between the difference in their respective handicaps. Of the members who advance to league Playoffs, only those 16 who advance past the first playoff round will be awarded prizes of gift cards from Pevely Farms Golf Club. 15. Consolation bracket will be formed once we have all first round playoff match ups completed. There will be a prize for the winner of the Consolation bracket. 16. If after 16 weeks of league play, there would be a tie for 16 th place in either flight the following tie-breakers will be used. First tie breaker for 16 th place after the first 16 weeks of league play will be determined by the most rounds played during league play times on Tuesday. Most rounds played 3

4 will not include allowed make-up rounds. Second tie-breaker will be determined by person with most improved handicap. Optional Games 17. An optional $7 game consisting of skins and 2 skill shots (i.e. closest to the pin, longest putt made, etc.) will be available each week. Only league members can enter this optional game. If a member wants to play in this game, they must sign their name on the sign-up sheet and pay their $7 to the Pro Shop attendant before play each week. The sign-up sheet will be posted on the Pro Shop counter. During the 4 Major weeks the Skins game will be $10. Members are required to turn in their scorecard to the scorer immediately after 9-hole league play. Winners will be paid out weekly after the last member in the game turns in their scorecard. 18. The league will co-host an annual St. Louis Cup Challenge (Handicapped 9 hole Match Play) between Pevely Farms Golf Club Monday Night League and The Landings at Spirit Tuesday Night League. One 9 hole round will be played at Pevely Farms Golf Club and a second 9 hole round will be played at Landings At Spirit Golf Club. Tee times will be between 4:00 PM and 5:30PM on each day. Refer to the League Calendar for the dates of this event. There is no entry fee for playing in this event. League 9 hole cart and green fees will apply. This event is optional and open to league members only. Members must commit to play on both Monday and Tuesday for this event. The winner of a Match earns 1 point for their respective league. If a Match is tied after 9 holes, each player s league will earn ½ point. After the 2 rounds of 9 holes Match Play, the league with the most points is declared the STL Cup Champion and is awarded the STL Cup Challenge Traveling Trophy for the year.
