1 Leopard Creek Country Club / and Umganu Lodge General Information Green Fees and other rates for 2018 / 2019 Our rates for all associate lodge golfers will increase for bookings made after the 1 st of March 2018, valid until the 28 th February All bookings made before this period will be honoured at the previously quoted fee. Green fee per player per round will be R4000. This includes the use of a cart, bottled water and halfway house snack tray (sandwiches, scones, muffins etc.). Also included in the fee is coffee or tea at halfway house. All other food and beverage must be settled directly by the client. Hire Clubs are available at R750 per set per round. The sets are made up of recent models of Titleist golf clubs. We have 15 quality sets available in various configurations. Please book in advance. All additional food, drink, apparel, hire equipment, balls, tees, gifts etc. are for your client s account. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept cash. Extras can be paid for using a Credit or Debit card only. PLEASE NOTE: The GPS system on the carts will prompt the player to order food on the 9 th tee. If the player(s) opts for something other than the complimentary snack tray i.e. a hamburger or English breakfast, then they will be charged for the items. New Facility at Leopard Creek PAR 3 Course There is a new 9-hole PAR 3 course / world class practice facility available to play on at Leopard Creek. The new course is available for lodge visitors to play for a daily fee of R1000 which would then allow the visitor to play the course and use the practice range of the new facility for the day. Bookings must be made in the traditional manner as per Leopard Creek Country Club bookings and charges will be debited to the relevant lodge accordingly. The facility will be available during Leopard Creek Country Club closure later this year and can be booked accordingly. *R1000 fee does not include the use of a cart or no halfway house snack tray. *There are no catering services or ablution areas on this facility. Handicaps Whilst we do not necessarily always ask for a handicap certificate, it is requisite of every golfer playing at Leopard Creek to have an official handicap. Lodges are requested to ascertain whether their clients are registered golfers before booking a tee time. Players who clearly are not golfers will be asked to leave the course. 3 Alfred Dunhill Tournament The Alfred Dunhill Tournament traditionally takes place at Leopard Creek every year between the 15 th of November and the 15 th of December. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we usually are not informed of the exact dates before April of every year. Therefore, it is important to note that bookings made for this period may be cancelled to accommodate the tournament days. Please try to avoid making golf bookings for more than 6 months in advance for this period. Course Maintenance The course has certain essential maintenance to perform daily. Where possible these practices will be kept to a minimum and done as discretely as possible so as not to interfere with any player s round. It is however important to note that it is the Club s prerogative to perform such maintenance when deemed appropriate. More specifically intense maintenance will take place at least twice a year (normally in March and October) and it is the responsibility of the lodge to ascertain when these periods are prior to booking. Dates for hollow-tining are available a year in advance. Lightning Policy From time to time, especially in the hot summer months (December-March), the course may experience extreme weather conditions including electric storms. In such cases, the club s early warning system may detect electrical activity and sound warning sirens in the form of a long wail. When this warning siren is activated, it is important that all players CEASE PLAY immediately and RETURN TO THE CLUBHOUSE a.s.a.p. Players who disregard the warning do so ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK and against the club s best advice. Notwithstanding this warning system, the onus remains on the player to leave the course at any time he / she feels there is imminent danger from these storms. DO NOT WAIT FOR THE SIREN TO LEAVE THE COURSE if you feel unsafe! These storms present a real danger to golfers. Leopard Creek Country Club 3

4 Dress Code Dress Code on Course The club is conservative in style and by nature. Recognised golf attire is required always. The authority is vested with the Club Director to decide what is appropriate for the club and what is not. Please assist us in avoiding unpleasant situations by adhering to this policy. Specifically note: Shirts tucked in always Caps and other headwear worn with peak facing forward i.e. not back to front No cargo-style (side pocket) pants or shorts Predominantly white socks with shorts (may be purchased in shop) Recognized golf shoes only. No apparel with big logos, bold advertising or large numerals. Very loud, bright or bold clothing may not be allowed. Non-golfers accompanying golfers on a cart must similarly be appropriately dressed. Players to request permission for unaccompanied guests before arriving for play. Dress code in the Clubhouse Men Hats and caps may not be worn in the bar, dining room and lounges. Regular collared golf shirts, crew neck shirts or tailored shirts. No bold commercial advertising or inappropriate wording. No T-shirts! Shirts must be tucked in always. Traditional long and short tailored trousers or suitable jeans. Long trousers are required in the bar, dining room and lounges at club functions. Only closed heel golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted. Casual shoes with closed heels. No sandals, flip-flops or crocs. Ladies Traditional collared or crew neck golf shirts. Tailored waist length golf shirts need not be tucked in. Sleeveless golf shirts may also be worn. Blouses may be worn over trousers and skirts. No bold commercial advertising or inappropriate wording. Traditional long and short tailored trousers or suitable jeans. Appropriate length skirts and dresses Only closed heel golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted. Formal or casual shoes and sandals permitted. Flip flops are not permitted. 5 Etiquette Consideration for Other Players Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking or making unnecessary noise. Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players. On the teeing ground, a player should not tee his ball until it is his turn to play. Players should not stand close to or directly behind the ball, or directly behind the hole, when a player is about to play. Pace of Play Players should play at a good pace. It is a group s responsibility to keep up with the group in front. If it loses a clear hole and it is delaying the group behind, it should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group. Where a group has not lost a clear hole, but it is apparent that the group behind can play faster, it should invite the faster moving group to play through. An average round at Leopard Creek should take no longer than 4h30. Priority on the Course Priority on the course will always be given to members. If a group cannot keep up with the pace of play then members will have right of way! Care of the Course Bunkers Before leaving a bunker, players should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by them and any nearby made by others. Each cart is provided with a rake for this purpose. Repair of Divots, Ball-Marks and Damage by Shoes Players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and any damage to the putting green made by the impact of a ball (whether or not made by the player himself). On completion of the hole by all players in the group, damage to the putting green caused by golf shoes should be repaired.
