2 Latest Tournament Results October and November are typically busy times on the Clubs events schedule, many gold leaf and other significant tournaments are held to take advantage of this great spring weather we are experiencing. Jordan will be representing South S Australia in Newcastle NSW from November N 1st 5 th.jordan, Adrian and Debra would like to thank those members who help contribute via purchasing raffle tickets last week for the Wilson golf bag due to be drawn soon.

3 Mixed Foursomes Championship Played on Sunday the 25 th of October with a solid field of over 20 pairs, this year s Championship proved an exciting affair with Matt Rolton & Andrea Jarred defeatingg David Rawson & Lyn Pascoe on the 1 st playoff hole! Best nett on the day was won by husband and wife duo Marty & Liz Fellows. Mixed Foursomes Championship playoff from left to right David Rawson, Lyn Pascoe, Andrea Jarred and Matt Rolton. Congratulations Dean Forster! 5 day member Dean Forster entered the Australian Masters Games which w were contested in Adelaidee over early October. Dean who plays of a 15 handicap beat a huge field to claim the Gold Medal in the years 72 hole stableford championship played at Flagstaff Hill and The Vines. Dean also won a Silver medal over all age groups for the 38 points hee had at the Vines during the Monday. Well done Dean on a great achievement and flying the Thaxted Park flag high! Ladies Interclub Fixtures It was a mixed bag for our Ladiess in their annual interclub events. The Marthax Shield was played on Tuesday the 13 th October away at the Vines with the home team defeating the Thaxted Park ladies. Our girls then hosted the Cheesman Shield at home on Thursday thee 15 th of October and proved too strong for the visiting Flagstaff Hill ladies. Well done to all that participated!

4 Auto Club Golf Championships Fast becoming one of the standout fixtures on our yearlyy calendar a huge field off 64 contested the 2015 Auto Club Golf Championships on Sunday 18 th October. The format for the day was a pairs combined stableford with winners Ray Haleyy & James Fuller taking out first placee with a terrific score of 78 points. Best individual score was Lorraine Emerson with 41 points. Congratulations to Ray & James who will be the Thaxted Park representatives at the national finals on the Gold Coast early next year. Jay s Rules of the Month Obstructions An obstruction is anything artificial, including the artificial surfaces and sides of roads and paths and manmade objects, except for the following a. Objects defining out of bounds, such as walls, fences, stakess and railings; b. Any part of an immovable artificial object thatt is out of bounds; and c. Any construction declared by the Committee to be an integral part of the course. There are two types of obstructionss Moveable and Immovable. It s moveable if it may be moved without unreasonable effort, without unduly delaying play and without causing damage. Otherwise it s immoveable

5 What to do Moveable obstructions. Move the obstruction, no penalty iff your ball moves, just replace the ball. Immoveable Obstruction This only occurs when the obstruction interferes with the player s stance orr intended swing. Don t be thinking it s in my line of sight or it s in my view It only appliess when it interferes with stance or swing???? Take a drop within one club length of nearest point of relief, no penalty On the green, you place the ball. MiClub on line Booking System New Booking System Our new look and feature filled booking systemm will available for PRACTISE through until Sunday November 1st. Club management and staff received training on the new system on Tuesday the 133 th and Wednesday the 14 th of October. This new MiClub Online timesheet system is in use by over o 300 clubss in Australia including Royal Adelaide, Glenelg, The Grange and Tea Tree Gully Golf Clubs. Login using the link on the Thaxted Park Golf Club Website for Members Golf Bookings Thaxted Park Golf Club Website: Logging On Your username is a combination of the first 3 letters of your surname and your first name initial combined with your day and month of birth (eg. John Smith born on the 1st of January = smij0101) ) and your new password is changeme. Upon logging in the first time you will be asked to create a new password. Please contact the club if you have any problems. If you have trouble logging on? Please contact the office ASAP. Update your details When you 1st Login please update your member details in particular Phone Numbers and address, this will greatly assist the club in keeping all members information up to date. All members details are private unless you choose otherwise. Do you want other members to be able to see these details? Click on the Private Box if you don t. Members Page Once logged onto the site you willl be taken to your own personal welcome page. On this page you will see links to important areas of the site including Golf Bookings, Members Directory and My y Information as well as notices posted by the club.

6 New Online time sheet changeoverr Once logged in navigate to the Timesheets areaa by clicking on Golf Bookings which will appear on the right hand side menu. Practice timesheets will be available on the neww member s online booking facility through until Sunday the 1 st of November. A practice timesheet will exist on each day to practice your normal booking. Please be aware that the 1st Online Timesheet with the new system will be b for Mondayy the 2 nd of November. This timesheet will open for bookings on Monday the 26 th of October at 7:00am withh normal booking rules applying. Timesheets exist for every day, please be sure to book, to avoid disappointment. Any course closures and or syllabus changes will be updated on the website. Timesheetss for online bookings closee at 6am on the day of play, from then on any cancellations must be made through the Pro Shop.
