OB vs Lateral Hazard: Unless the ball is found out of bounds, it is deemed to be in the hazard. Drop within two club lengths from the point of entry into the hazard. Coquina Cart Paths: All coquina cart paths are part of the golf course. Balls coming to rest on these paths are in play. 3 Flower Beds: The flower beds on the left of #9 and the back of #17 are to be played as ground under repair as a free lift even if you do not find your balls. Environmentally Sensitive Areas: (NO HUNT) areas are located on the right side of holes 4, 6, and 9. Do NOT enter these areas. On hole #10 do not enter the environmentally sensitive area. If your ball is in the area between the no hunt signs and the hazard line you may play it. If it is in the environmental area, please proceed to the drop area. Lateral Hazards: Defined by red stakes or red lines. A ball may be played from the hazard or relief taken (one stroke penalty) within two clubs from where it entered the hazard. NOTE: If there is a red line on a cart path, it marks a hazard just to the left or right of the marking. The cart path is not part of the hazard. Out of Bounds: Defined by white stakes. A ball to the left of the water on holes: #8, #12, #13 and #15 or to the right of the water on holes #3, #17 and #18 is out of bounds. All road ways are out of bounds. OB stakes cannot be removed. Relief from the top of the bulkheads (swing and/or stance) on holes #8, #17 and #18. NOTE: Relief taken should be at the closest point, no closer to the hole. There is a one ball in, one ball out rule when your ball is in the water. Hunting for balls in hazards is limited to two (2) minutes. Driving range out of bounds right of #1 and #18. Stones in Traps: If a stone is in the vicinity of the ball and at risk to be hit during the shot, you are entitled to move it provided the ball is not moved. Summer Rules: Play the ball as it lies unless informed otherwise Stakes: Lateral/150 Yard Markers: May be removed for swing, stance or line of flight and replaced when done. 100/150/200/250 Disk/Markers: Player is entitled to relief if swing or stance is interfered with by these markers. Use of Distance Measuring Devices For all play at this course a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. LIGHTNING DETECTION Olde Hickory Golf & Country Club members and guests are protected by a Thor Guard Lightning Prediction System. It scientifically predicts the probability of a lightning strike. During daylight hours players will be warned by our lightning prediction system which sounds one (1) prolonged blast of the horn signaling suspension of play. All players should leave their respective holes and return to the Clubhouse immediately. Resumption of play is signaled by three (3) five-second blasts of the horn. Lightning is a severe hazard that must be viewed seriously. All players should stop play and seek shelter any time they believe lightning threatens them, even if a signal has not been sounded. If the suspension of play horn sounds the driving range must be cleared immediately. If you hear a warning and continue to play, You do so at your own risk. 4 5
