1 Prologue In exchange for fair and appropriate capital contributions, monthly dues, service fees, food and beverage charges, merchandise costs and other miscellaneous fees, the (Company), a California corporation, DBA Sierra View Country Club (Club) exists to deliver to their members, guests and patrons an agreed upon golf, recreational, social, dining, and respite life style experience. These (Rules) establish the terms, conditions and privileges for use of the Club s facilities and services by its members, members families, guests, and patrons. They were established and approved by the Company s Board of Directors and made effective on the date indicated herein. Nothing contained herein shall prevent the Company from making changes to any Rule at its sole and complete discretion. These Rules are an integral part of any Membership Agreement and included therein by reference. I. General The Member is responsible to inform their families and guests of these operating rules, dress code and other policies. The Company s CEO sets the dining room and cocktail lounge hours. The CEO or delegate may close the clubhouse before the established closing time or on evenings when the Club s facilities are unused. Except for special events and holidays the facilities are closed on Mondays. When a holiday falls on a Monday, the Club facilities will be closed on Tuesday. Members, Guests & Patrons shall at no time participate in the directions of club employees relating to their work duties or responsibilities, including requests for personal favors. Unless authorized by the CEO or delegate Members, Guests & Patrons shall refrain from: (a) Soliciting subscriptions, displaying articles for sale or advertising services. (b) Bringing food or beverages onto Club premises. Unopened wine may be brought to the Club and opened by a Club employee in exchange for a corkage fee. (c) Smoking and vaping is allowed only in designated outside areas and the golf course. (i) The Club respects the right for members and guests to smoke and will do their best to accommodate them. And the Club asks that smokers respect non-smokers desire for a smoke-free environment. (ii) Smoking is prohibited on or near the patio or fire pit when food service is available outdoors. (iii) Smokers near the clubhouse entrances may be asked to move if the smoke is entering the clubhouse. 1704Apr_17 Page 1 of 8

2 (d) Using cell phones inside the facilities for phone calls is discouraged. Please take calls outside or away from the dining areas. Texting, ing and using other non-verbal smart phone functions are permitted inside the facilities. 911 phone calls are permitted anytime and anywhere. II III Clubhouse Minors are not permitted to sit at the bar or to be in the men s card room. Horse play is not permitted anywhere on or in the Club s facilities. Members shall arrange special dining room events or other social functions with the Banquet Manager. Unauthorized use of club grounds, course and facilities is not permitted. Special clubhouse events are important to the Company s ability to thrive. Members are expected not to interfere with those events. Locker Room Valuables left in lockers are the member s responsibility. Attendants may open lockers at the member s request, by a legal order or by the CEO s request. Any apparel or other articles left outside of the lockers for more than 48 hours will be removed by the attendant. Please keep shoes, apparel, etc. inside your locker. Golf clubs and Club towels are not permitted to be stored in the Member s locker. The Club sets locker and shoe care fees. Locker rental arrangements can be made with the locker attendant or the office staff. IV Dress Code The Board of Directors, Management, Staff, and Members of Sierra View Country Club (the Club), established this dress code to ensure a pleasant, relaxed, and enjoyable experience while participating in all activities and events at the club. General - The Club encourages discretion, good judgment and cooperation by wearing appropriate club attire. All clothing worn on club property must be clean, in good repair, and free of objectionable or inappropriate markings. (a) Members are responsible for the appearance and behavior of their family and guests. (b) Club management and staff are authorized to enforce the dress code and management reserves the right to deem any attire inappropriate. (c) The club will post attire requirements for special events. If the event warrants the need to alter the attire from the dress code definitions below, the Club will post the change in dress code attire with the event details. Clubhouse (a) Attire that is not acceptable at the club includes sweat pants, tank tops, beach attire, halter-tops, muscle shirts, cut-offs, and short shorts. 1704Apr_17 Page 2 of 8

3 (b) Restaurant - For day to day dining Golf Attire and Smart Casual Attire is generally accepted, and includes golf shorts, dressy denim and collared shirts. Button down shirts may be untucked. Men must remove hats. (c) Lounge and Patio Golf, Tennis and Smart Causal attire is accepted Golf Attire (a) All Golfers (i) Dress code is applicable to the course and practice facilities including putting greens. (ii) Soft cleats are preferred, although soft soled shoes, such as tennis shoes are acceptable. (iii) Denim, other than blue jeans, is acceptable for Men and Women. (iv) Joggers and workout or athleisure clothing is not acceptable. (v) Caps are to be worn brim forward. (b) Gentlemen - Acceptable attire is a golf shirt with sleeves and collar. Shirts must be tucked in unless button-front, designed to be worn out. Traditional golf trousers, plus fours and golf shorts are considered acceptable. (c) Women - LPGA dress code standards apply including: A collared golf shirt, blouse or racerback; golf slacks, golf shorts, skirts and skorts that are long enough to not see your bottom area at any time ; appropriate leggings are those with side or back pockets, all other leggings must be worn under a skirt, skort or dress Tennis (a) All clothing should reflect tennis traditions, be in good repair, and free of inappropriate or offensive markings. (b) Tennis shoes that will not cause damage or marring of court surfaces must be worn; no street or cleated shoes are permitted. (c) Tennis shorts or tennis skirts are permitted. Collarless shirts are permitted provided that they are racquets specific. (d) Exercise apparel other than tennis is not permitted. Golf Guest Privileges 4.06 Resident Guests (a) Guest living within 100 miles of the club may not use the golf course more than once in a 30-day period and only when accompanied by a member. (For 2017 only, members may bring the same guest two times per month). (b) Non-Resident Guests (c) Guests living beyond 100 miles of the club and visiting the home of a member may be granted the use of all facilities for a two-week period paying regular guest fees. All charges will be posted to the member s account. Guest will follow normal guest policies. 1704Apr_17 Page 3 of 8

4 (d) Other Country Club Members Bona fide golf members of other country clubs will be allowed to play the golf course as guests of members in good standing as often as they wish and at the prevailing greens fee, charged to their home club. (e) Number of Guests Weekdays Golf members may bring up to seven guests to play golf on weekdays. (g) Weekends No guests may play before 9 a.m. Saturday after which time a member may bring no more than three guests unless authorized to do so by the Head Golf Professional and/or CEO. Members may tee off on the back nine with guests or spouses before restricted times and have turnaround times on the front if authorized by the golf professionals. (h) Holidays Sunday rules apply for Holidays. (i) Golf for Tennis and Social Members By paying the prevailing guest fees and according to guest rules, Tennis members and up to three guests may play golf three times every month. Social members may play six times per year with up to three guests. V. Golf Course Green Fees are subject to change at the discretion of the CEO under guidance of the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. Junior Golf (a) Defined Juniors are defined as children under the age of 13. Juniors are permitted on the course, putting greens and practice areas only under the direct supervision of an adult member. The member will be directly responsible for the conduct of the child at all times. (b) Playing time Juniors may play any time with the permission of the Golf Professional and subject to tee times restrictions. Starting Times Golf member tee times are available seven days in advance and can be made on ForeTees or by contacting the Pro Shop. Tee times are subject to change due to tournaments, daylight hours, holidays, course traffic, etc. Changes are noted in ForeTees. (a) Weekdays (i) Monday Course is closed with the exception of certain holidays. (ii) Tuesday Ladies priority day. The Ladies Captain will turn in starting times to the Pro Shop. All other member players may tee off following their scheduled times. (iii) Wednesday Men s priority day. Other member players may tee off following the men s scheduled times as determined by the Pro Shop. (iv) Thursday/Friday Open play tee times for members, spouses/domestic partners and juniors are available seven (7) days in advance. (b) Weekends (i) Saturday Primary members only can reserve tee times before 9:00 a.m. 1704Apr_17 Page 4 of 8

5 a. Requests for times start at 7:00 a.m.one week in advance, starting Saturday morning and ending Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., after which time the Pro Shop will process all requests and place them on the weekend tee sheet by noon. b. Two to five players are needed to make a tee time on ForeTees. Put your requested tee time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:51 a.m. in the notes. If you are a single, contact the golf shop for available tee time options. c. Non-primary members wanting to play before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday can request so in the notes section of the lottery and they will be placed in the lottery for unassigned times. Primary members may not invite non-primary members to fill open, unassigned times. d. Occasionally, primary Saturday times before 9:00 a.m. will encroach on the after 9:00 a.m. times, particularly in winter hours. e. Occasionally the Pro Shop will leave one time open to ease traffic and support pace of play. (ii) Sunday - Open play tee times for members, spouses/domestic partners and juniors. (c) Holidays (i) When holiday tournaments have a scheduled afternoon shotgun start there will be a morning shotgun for nontournament players. (ii) All golfing members including juniors are allowed to play in the early shotgun start. (iii) Guests are welcome on holidays. (iv) July 4th Family Day. Every member will be charged a voluntary fee of $10 to subsidize this annual event. (d) Weather Delays (i) In the event of frost or other weather-related issues that may cause delays or course closure, the order of play shall be determined by the tee times that have been pre-set. Upon reopening of the course, the original tee times list shall be followed in number order General Restrictions and Requests (a) Please confine practice to areas designed and designated as such, not on the course. (b) Please keep the course and club grounds clean and clear of any litter or refuse. (c) Recovery of golf balls other than your own from the lakes is prohibited Hole-in-One Insurance (a) The total amount of the Hole-in-One Insurance (HIO) fund depends on the number of members who have signed up for the insurance. Each participating member is charged $1 for each hole-in-one made. (b) Membership in the HIO is voluntary and offered to all members 21 years of age and over. The member is responsible for signing up with the office. (c) 10% of the HIO fund will go to the appropriate men s, Senior s or Ladies tournament funds. (d) The HIO golfer is required to spend a minimum of $150 in the bar commencing the day of the hole-inone. (e) Any remaining balance in the HIO fund will be credited to the member s account. 1704Apr_17 Page 5 of 8

6 HOI at another course If an insured golfer makes a hole-in-one at another golf course that is a regulation course with a handicap of 70 or better, that golfer must inform the club manager or golf professional to contact Sierra View Country Club. Sierra View Country Club personnel will inform the caller to bill our Club for drinks up to $150. The balance will be credited to the member s account. (g) Official Hole-in-One requirements: (i) HOI must be witnessed. (ii) The golfer s HOI score card must be attested, signed and turned in to the Pro Shop for authentication Course Etiquette (a) All players are encouraged to know the PGA s Golf Etiquette as published on their website at: This includes insuring the safety of those around you including golf course personnel. A copy of the Golf Etiquette is available in the Pro Shop. (b) Pace of Play Sierra View is proud to have a consistent average pace of play of 4 hours and 10 minutes and encourages less. Good suggestions are included in the Golf Etiquette including these that our members employ: (i) Be ready at the first tee when your group is called. (ii) Play ready golf (no honors) (iii) Watch all shots in your group to help eliminate lost balls. (iv) Play a provisional ball for shots that may be O.B. or lost outside of a water hazard. (v) Share cart driving (ride when you are away, drive when you are not). (vi) Plan your shot as you approach your ball and while waiting for others. (vii) When possible, park at the next tee before putting. (viii) Record your score at the next tee Course Care (a) Divots & Ball Marks A player is responsible to carefully repair any divot made and any ball mark or damage to the putting green. (b) Bunkers Before leaving a bunker, the player will carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made. Leave rakes in the bunkers. (c) Greens (i) When putting down the flagstick, insure that no damage is done to the putting green. Do not drop the flagpole. (ii) Be careful when removing or replacing the flag pole in the center of the hole so as to not damage the rim or surrounds. (iii) Do not set carry bags or pull carts on the greens. (d) Golf Carts- Use the 90 degree rule from cart paths and not within 30 feet of any green or tee when not on the path. (e) Golf Carts-Pull Pull carts must remain off all tee boxes and 10 feet from any green. Never pull carts between green side bunkers and the green. 1704Apr_17 Page 6 of 8

7 Practice Swings In taking practice swings, players should avoid causing damage to the course, particularly the tees, by making divots (a) Golf Practice Facilities The golf practice facilities are available to all golf members. Tennis and Clubhouse members may use the facilities when playing a round of golf, taking a lesson, or by paying a monthly fee. The dress code on the practice facility is the same as the golf course. VI Tennis Courts Days Open (a) Courts are open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., including holidays. (b) Mixed Drop-ins are Tuesday at 9 a.m. (c) Men s drop-ins are Tuesday and Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m. (d) Saturday morning drop-ins are always welcome. Please call in advance of time to schedule your arrival Guest Rules (a) Guests must be accompanied by the host member and must be registered in the Tennis shop. When the shop is closed, the member is responsible for registering the guest at the Club business office. (b) Guest fees are required and set by the Tennis Pro and General Manager (c) Resident guests may not use the tennis courts more than once per week. Exceptions must be approved by the Head Tennis Professional. (d) Non-resident guests, visiting the home of a member, upon the proper introduction to the Tennis Pro by such member, may be granted the use of all the facilities for a two-week period. Tennis fees and food and beverage will be charged to the member s account. Guest cards are available in the office Court Rules (a) Courts may be reserved for or 90 minutes may be reserved on week in advance by using ForeTees or calling the office at (b) Reservation requests will be confirmed by the tennis office staff along with a court number or by ForeTees if using the booking system.. (c) All players must be able to take their court within 15 minutes of their reserved time or forfeit the court to players who are waiting to play. (d) Club events, inter-club and challenge matches have priority and may play to completion. (e) Courts #1 and #2 are reserved for instruction unless otherwise noted. Members playing without a reservation are subject to being bumped by members with a reservation or an organized club activity Lights 1704Apr_17 Page 7 of 8

8 (a) The light switch for the courts is located by court #1. The lights take seven minutes to warm up. (b) The last person using the courts in the evening must turn off the lights Juniors- (a) Junior tennis members are between 8 and 17 years of age. (b) Junior members are restricted to the use of the tennis courts and clubhouse. (c) Junior members have no food and beverage minimum. (d) Juniors have the ability to reserve courts after 7 pm,. on week nights and on weekend afternoons and evenings. (e) Juniors have access to Friday match play at 5:00 p.m., monthly Saturday socials and tournaments. Juniors receive discounts on private and group lessons. (g) Parents are ultimately responsible for any actions by junior members, as well as any charges accrued by the junior member. 1704Apr_17 Page 8 of 8
