NOW IN ITS 19 TH SUCCESSFUL YEAR, TANGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB offers you the following: An official handicap recognised by both the KZNGU, KZNLGA and SAGA SAGA Affiliation/Handicap swipe card for computerised handicapping Affiliation to the KZNGU and KZNLGA respectively Tanglewood Golf Club s home course is Windsor Park, Durban, where members have the permanent rights to the use of the golf course at all times Annual Club Championships and a variety of weekend away tournaments Organised weekend golf competitions at top courses in KwaZulu Natal Monthly Mug competitions every month Friendly and efficient service HOW IS TANGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB ADMINISTERED? Tanglewood Golf Club is a properly constituted Golf Club having Windsor Park, Durban, as its home course and has the permanent rights to the use of the course at all times Tanglewood Golf Club is affiliated to both the SAGA and the KZNGU/KZNLGA All members have officially recognised handicaps which are registered and reflected on the Handicaps Network Africa (HNA) handicapping system On joining, your profile will be loaded onto the Handicaps Network Africa (HNA) system and your SAGA swipe card applied for giving you access to computerised handicapping which keeps all members handicaps up-to-date. It is your responsibility to contact our offices for your updated handicap alternatively, you can access the Internet or simply swipe your card at the club s terminal where you are playing or download the App on your cellphone. As we are part of the Handicaps Network Africa handicapping system, you can also enter your scores and access your handicap by logging onto HOW DO I JOIN? To expedite your membership, simply complete the Application for Membership form, fax or scan/ it to us together with a copy of your proof of payment for the amount applicable to you. You may pay by EFT. Please do not deposit cheques or cash as you will be liable for the bank charges thereby incurred. SILVER CARD MEMBERSHIP This category of membership offers an official SAGA handicap and is specifically designed for those members who, for various reasons, are unable to or do not wish to play in Tanglewood fixtures every weekend with a few exceptions, e.g. Easter weekend, Mother s Day, Father s Day, Comrades Marathon & Amashova Cycle race. Silver Card members may participate in all Club fixtures but may only enter the competition proper on any one chosen monthly fixture of his/her choice. Please read bullets below: Silver members may play in ALL Tanglewood fixtures, including Monthly Mugs. Silver members pay an additional R20.00 entry fee at all games other than those listed under bullet 7 below Silver members may choose only ONE game a month where they are entitled to enter the club competition and win the main prizes on offer, including two clubs, nearest the pins and enter the optional Jackpot.

2 2 Silver members who choose to play in more than their chosen or selected monthly game are most welcome and encouraged to do so, but cannot win any prizes in the club competition. They may enter the Jackpot, win two club/s and nearest the pin/s. Silver members compete in the Silver Division of Monthly Mugs playing an Individual Stableford format. There is a single winner and runner-up in the Silver Division. Silver members must inform the committee on duty at registration of their selected game in which they wish to be part of the competition. Should they not do so, it will be automatically assumed that the first monthly game in which they play will be their selected or nominated game. Silver members may play in all Tanglewood s annual weekend away tournaments at normal full member s rates and are eligible to win all prizes on offer. Silver members may play in Club Championships in the Silver Division. There is no Matchplay Championship in this category of membership. Silver members may not serve on the Tanglewood Golf Club committee nor can they vote at any of the Club s Annual General or Special Meetings. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP This category is for golfers who are already officially handicapped through an affiliated club yet wish to enjoy and participate in all Tanglewood fixtures including Club Championships, etc. WHEN CAN I PLAY MY FIRST GAME? Once you have paid your annual membership fee, you are eligible to play. HOW CAN I BOOK A GAME? Upon joining you will be issued with a fixture list. To book a game you must contact our offices either telephonically, by or text message and your name will be put down on the relevant time sheet. It is advisable to book a minimum of four (4) days prior to the weekend game. HANDICAP SYSTEM Members must record all scores from all games played to have a true handicap. Handicaps are recalculated overnight and any adjustment will be effective as of the next day. It is your responsibility to check your handicap. Interim revisions of handicaps are done during the course of the month if you have an exceptional round or should you be penalised for not entering your score within the 72 hour grace period permitted. New members and visitors without official handicaps must play off a full handicap of 18 for men and 24 for ladies or off their last official handicap until such time as we receive a minimum of five gross scores from you whereafter you will be given an official handicap. Until you get your official handicap, you are welcome to play but cannot enter the competitions proper until you are officially handicapped. Should you lose or damage your SAGA handicap card, a fee of R will be charged for the replacement thereof. There are in excess of 160,000 officially handicapped golfers country-wide on the Handicaps Network Africa (HNA) system which will enable you to swipe your SAGA card at golf clubs in South Africa. Should a particular club at which you play not be linked to the HNA handicapping system, you must either telephone, , text your scores and we will gladly enter these for you alternatively you can access the HNA website to load your scores by registering on the website giving your Username and Password or use the App on your cellular phone.

3 RULES AND REGULATIONS 3 1 Tanglewood Golf Club has the permanent rights to the use of Windsor Park golf course and is directly affiliated to both the SAGA and the KZNGU. 2 Annual subscription fees are for a period of one year commencing 1 July to 30 June in each calendar year. Subscription fees are payable to TANGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB annually in advance and new members joining during the course of our financial year are required to pay membership fees on a structured basis (not pro-rated). 3 Visitors are permitted to play once a month with Tanglewood Golf Club at the discretion of the Committee. Should a visitor wish to play more than once a month, he/she will be required to join the club either as a Full, Silver Card or Associate Member. 4 Any resignation must be submitted, in writing, on or before 30 June in each year. 5 Member s affiliation status is dependent on their subscription fees being up-to-date. 6 Any member who books for a game and does not arrive or fails to cancel his/her game timeously, will be obliged to pay the appropriate green fee before being allowed to play in the next game. The same rule applies if you book for a visitor. Inclement weather is not an acceptable reason for not arriving at a golf game that you have booked for unless the course has been closed by the club concerned, you will be responsible for payment of the appropriate green fees. 7 Please remember: As a member of TANGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB you have a responsibility to uphold our good name and reputation. When playing at any course we are there as guests only and must under no circumstances abuse this privilege. TANGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB reserves the right to take disciplinary action against any member bringing the name of our Club into disrepute. Members and visitors must abide by and conform to all rules of the host club. These include dress regulations. No member or visitor is permitted to play in jeans or tee-shirts. Golf etiquette is to be observed at all times. Speed up play Repair all pitch marks, divots and rake bunkers Adhere to local rules No alcohol permitted on the course whilst play in progress Players must present themselves to the committee on duty at the registration table at least thirty minutes before tee-off time. Late-comers will automatically forfeit their times and will only be accommodated once all other players have teed off should the field permit. Scorecards must be completed correctly. It is the players responsibility to fill in names and surnames, gross scores, handicaps and competition results. You may be disqualified if you hand in an incomplete and/or incorrect scorecard. Scorecards are to be signed by both player and marker. Any unclaimed prizes will be held by us in safe keeping for a period of one month only whereafter they will be utilised as prizes for future fixtures.
