1 Medina Valley High School TX th AFJROTC Booster Club ATTN: JROTC, 8365 FM 471 S, Castroville, TX Dear Supporters, The Medina Valley High School TX th AFJROTC Boosters is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting and enhancing the quality of the Medina Valley AFJROTC program. The AFJROTC program teaches students discipline, work ethic, dedication, service to others, and respect, just to name a few. Each year the Boosters raise money to fund trips, buy supplies for the JROTC competition teams, provide food for corps activities, and provide scholarships. The Corps has achieved many accomplishments over the years, including qualifying for National competitions in Academic Challenge and CyberPatriots, and this year is shaping up to be the best one yet. The corps competition teams include: CyberPatriots, Drill Team, Orienteering, Physical Fitness Team, and Rocketry. In addition, our Honor Guard is one of the busiest teams in our school and community. We are excited to be hosting the First Annual AFJROTC Scholarship Golf Scramble. You can help by becoming a Sponsor, Hole Sponsor or providing an in kind donation for this event. 5 MVHS AFJROTC 2019 Scholarship Golf Scramble Rules GOLF SCRAMBLE RULES: (all golf rules shall conform to USGA Rules) FORMAT: Four person scramble tournament. Peoria Scoring Peoria handicap- an impartial observer select selects six holes - a par 3, 4, and 5 from each nine. On each hole, the amount over/ under par (with a maximum of a double bogey) is summed, and the total is multiplied by three. This number acts as the Teams Peoria handicap. GOLF ETIQUETTE: 1. Please smooth all marks made in Sand Bunkers. 2. Leave the putting green as soon as you have holed out. 3. Do not play until the players in front of you are out of range. 4. Balls may be cleaned on the green, and ball marks repaired prior to putting. 5. Please observe all local course rules. 6. Enjoy the day and your fellowship with other golfers!

6 SCRAMBLE RULES: 1. A scramble means that all team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker. 2. The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot. 3. If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.), the rough, or out of bounds, you cannot drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away. 4. This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green also. 5. Putts need to be made within 3inches of the marked spot(no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score. When putting, once any ball is holed out, no further strokes count. The team is cautioned not to make tap in putts until all team members have had the opportunity to attempt the team s original putt. 6. Men tee off from the Gold tees and women from the red tees.

7 SKILLS CONTESTS ARE LOCATED ON THE FOLLOWING HOLES: Closest to the Pin - All Players - Holes 6 & 12 Buy In Only - Holes 3 & 15 Cost is $5.00 per hole Stroke Assistance available for Purchase Mulligans - Mulligans can only be used from the Tee Box. A max of 2 mulligans per player or a max of 8 per team. A max of 4 mulligans will be available for use per 9 holes. There will be no carry over from the Front 9 to the Back 9 if mulligans are not used. Cost is $5.00 per Mulligan Hit from the Red Tees Buy In only - Holes 5 & 13 To hit from Red Tees it must be done as a team. All team members will hit from Red Tees if purchased. Cost is $20.00 per team per hole

8 Length of Rope - To be used for putting purposes only. 1 putt attempt must be made before Rope can be used for further continuation of putt to finish hole. Cost is $5.00 per foot or $20 for 5 feet. A max of 10 per team for the entirety of the Scramble. Grenades - Grenades can be used to improve lie from any position except on the green. Participant will remove pin and toss grenade accordingly for the desired effect. Grenade cannot be used for a lost ball! A max of 2 grenades per player and a total of 8 per team.
