Every player can affect how long it will take others to play their rounds. Players are encouraged to allow faster groups and single players to play through. Players should play at a prompt pace throughout their round, including the time taken to: Prepare for and make each stroke, Move from one place to another between strokes, and Move to the next teeing area after completing a hole. Players should prepare in advance for their next stroke and be ready to play when it is their turn to play, taking their stroke in no more than 40 seconds once they are (or should be) able to play without interference or distraction. Players should usually be able to play more quickly than this and are encouraged to do so. If appropriate, players may play out of turn to help the pace of play (see Rule 6.4a and 6.4b).

13 BYELAWS 1. Golfers play the course at their own risk and must take into account the hazards on the course. 2. Play on the Course and Starting Times a. All green fees and competition entry fees must be paid before play commences. b. The course may be closed for a match, competition or visiting society. Provided the course is open, play is permitted between dawn and dusk. c. Play may commence at any hole providing players already on the course are given priority. Players starting on the 1st hole must alternate with players coming off the 9th green. 3. Terms and conditions of entry in competitions, as set out in the competition rules folder, apply. 4. Dress Code: On the course conventional golf attire is expected. The following items are examples of clothing that are NOT acceptable: Denim jeans, T-shirts, other beach wear and sportswear (such as track suit trousers, football shirts and shorts) Golf shoes are the recommended form of footwear but similar appropriate shoes may be worn. (Note: Work shoes, heels, sandals etc are not appropriate. Shoes must not cause excessive damage to greens and teeing grounds and must provide adequate grip taking into account the prevailing weather/ground conditions at the time of play.) In the club house shoes worn on the course must be changed before proceeding to the upper level. 5. Clubs/Bags a. Each player must have his/her own bag and clubs. Sharing is not allowed. b. Members shall ensure that a current membership tag is displayed on their golf bag at all times when on the course.

14 6. Buggies Provided ground conditions are suitable, buggies are permitted on the course. Before entering the course, all users must have read and understood the Club s Golf Buggy Safety Policy and Buggy Safe Working Practice displayed on the Club notice board. 7. Dogs Only members are permitted to bring a dog onto the course and they must ensure that: a. The dog is kept on a leash at all times. b. The course is not left in a fouled condition. 8. Notices No paper, notice or placard of any sort shall be put up or taken down by a member who is not an Officer of the Club, except at the Secretary/Manager s direction. 9. Refreshments Except by prior consent of the Secretary/Manager or, in his absence, another authorised person (either paid staff or club member who is in charge), no member, guest or visitor shall bring food or drink for consumption in the clubhouse. 10. Belongings The Club shall accept no responsibility whatsoever for members, guests or visitors belongings whether in lockers, in the changing rooms or on any part of the course. Members are strongly advised to take out their own insurance cover for personal belonging and golfing equipment. Any unidentifiable items found on Club property shall be placed in store and disposed of at the discretion of the General Committee if not claimed within three months. 11. General In no circumstance shall a member directly reprimand a member of staff, contractor, servant, agent or service provider or give instructions relating to the course or club management.
