1 GCGA Board Meeting Minutes Nov 6th, 2014 (8:00am), Buenaventura Acting Secretary for these Minutes: Charlie South Attending: Garth Price (President, Tournament Coordinator) Charlie South (Vice President, Handicap Chair) Bills Wells (Treasurer) Paul Sherman (Past President) Ken Phillips (Webmaster) Ron Kriss (SCGA Delegate) Skip Padberg (Membership Chair) Mario Martinez (Tournament Manager) Kyle Carmona (Rules Chair) Action Items from this Meeting Ken Phillips will modify website so mid-year renewal starts June 1 st Garth Price will attempt to contact all not-renewed-yet members to encourage renewal Charles South will drop all non-renewing members by 12/31/14 at Noon Skip Padberg will collect Club Championship trophies from Foltz and Mitchell Paul Sherman will study Gross-In-Flight awards made in 2014 Kyle Carmona will recommend Rules Quiz strategy at next meeting Bill Wells & Charlie South will study another budgeting method by next meeting Charlie South will see that Board Members have pictures on the website Decisions Made at this Meeting TPP software switch (from TM) postponed until late 2015, to consider this option Mid-Year New Member Rate will start on June 1 st instead of July 1 st Budget Changes new computer ($1200) dropped; Gratuities may go down Member Snapshot (Charlie South) 184 Active Members as of the date of the Board meeting + 2 new members to process Age Profile most members are in their 60s (see attached chart for age distribution) Handicap Profile average handicap index is (see attached chart) Number of Rounds Played Garth wins again! (see attached chart) Member Home Location Profile lots of members live in Ventura (see attached chart) Most Improved Golfer Charlie South, through November (see attached table)

2 Membership Renewals (Garth Price) 49 members have renewed so far (Bill Wells) 9 new members have joined since Oct 1 st 127 current members have not renewed as of this meeting Garth will attempt to contact everyone personally by phone or Drop-dead date for member renewals (without a lapse) is December 31st However, we will announce an earlier date than that to members Tournaments Strategy (Garth Price) Confirmed we WILL play Sterling Hills in December A tentative tournament schedule was handed out at the meeting, but it s still soft We averaged 81 players per tournament in 2014 (Bill Wells) Discussion perhaps change January event at Buena to a Shamble Discussion Robinson Ranch hurting for water; has closed the Mountain course Valley Course at Robinson Ranch is on our schedule for September Garth is considering moving RR Valley to April, after the rainy season If RR Valley moves to April then Olivas or Elkins are September options Garth suggested we might consider another away option given our budget status Option #1 Industry Hills Option #2 River Course at Alisal or La Purisima Club Championship (Charlie South) Starting from the tentative course schedule Garth presented, the 2015 choices are: #1 Moorpark Country Club (November 2014) #2 Soule Park (Feb) #3 Tierra Rejada (Mar) #4 Monarch Dunes (May) #5 Victoria Lakes (July) #6 Robinson Ranch, Valley (Sep SUBJECT TO CHANGE) #7 Ojai Valley Inn (Oct) Better Ball Championship (Charlie South) Pending schedule changes, the 2015 course lineup would be: #1 Monarch Dunes (May) #2 Glen Annie (June) #3 Victoria Lakes (July) Handicap Committee Report (Charlie South) Two actions taken during 2014: - one disciplinary situation with a member ended in withdrawing their handicap - to encourage more regular posting, all Skins games are being monitored for posting
